If offers a good alternative to the foolish all-doughnuts trend with a lovely presentation of sweets. We had his chocolate cake where his mix between good chocolate and orange works perfectly well. The extra cream remains a bit fat and heavy but adds a touch of sweet to this convincing peace of cake. Besides Roberto is very kind. A great finish at a very reasonable price!

We were served by a very helpful lady that spent time explaining what the different choices of Eastern European biscuits and cakes where, before loading us up with 6 cookies and 2 slices of homemade baklava, all for only £1.80!!! And on the way out, she offered us free sandwiches! So we walked away very happy indeed with a feast for two. The food itself was tasty, especially the coconut cookie and pistachio baklava. Delicious. Next time I'm in the neighbourhood I want to try a slice of their cakes - the carrot fudge cake looks amazing!

I've been here a few times and the staff are always approachable even when they are run off their feet. The food is always delicious. I've never had a bad meal here. There's also a small take away menu. Just walk up to the counter and order. If you want to know what you can order for the takeaway, just look up above the counter to the right and you can see what you can order. Why then have I given just a 4 star. It's quite full on the weekend especially as it is one of the largest cafe/restaurant on Hampstead high street. The best time to go is early morning or 45 mins before they close.

Also, the decor drastically needs an update. The chairs aren't particularly comfy and tables are basic wood and wipe- clean. I'd go back here for coffee (the latte was particularly good) but there are cafes nearby that serve tastier food.

The Corner Café has been recently refurbished and taken on new management which, as a devotee for a year beforehand, filled me with dread. Some of the fears are founded - the service can be painfully slow if they are busy, the kitchen regularly makes the dining area smell of smoke, and the prices are probably a little on the high side BUT they do serve, in my opinon, the best lunchtime food in the area (Gusto & Relish down the road is equally good but they only offer takeaway, the prices are extortionate and the staff a little 'snooty'). The menu has Sandwiches from £4.50 (eat-in) and hearty, large hot meals (amazing meatballs) from £5.00. There's a good selection of teas, coffee, fruit juices and smoothies as well as excellent home-made cakes and pastries. The staff are very friendly, the service is normally very good, but if you arrive at peak times (12-1:30) you may very well get frustrated. Overall - it's a fantastic little place that has a core of regulars (as well as occasional famous people - Take That, Will Young, Anneka Rice all been spotted) that, in terms of food quality, beats everything else in the area.

You can either purchase individually or a box of 6,12 or 24 and yes you do get a discount the more you purchase. They're pretty affordable around £3 for the big ones. Plus the packaging is so cute. The flavours and perfect. Not too rich that each bite hurts but no to bland. Each bite is worth it. They're soft and moist too. Because of covid, I took mine to go and had it 5 hrs after purchase. Still soft and yummy.

And for couples, Café Parisien is the perfect place to make or break your relationship because it's quiet, thoughtful and just like a sneaky cigarette on a rooftop somewhere: a good break away from life's hustle and bustle.

We had the vegan, gluten free: - pecan pie, warmed and served with a scoop of vanilla ice scream - peanut butter chocolate chip cookie - berry jam cake - oatmeal chocolate chip cookie Our favourite was the pie. It was super delicious and we were happy to get a crust piece. The crust was not your average tan-coloured flaky floury pie crust but more like a cookie/graham cracker crust. Delightful. I really enjoyed the ice scream on top (I'm lactose intolerant, so getting to savour ice s/cream is a very special treat for me.) My friend thought the ice scream was a bit too cloyingly sweet though. We liked the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie but it had a strange texture. Almost like raw cookie dough. This may be due to its gluten free ingredients. We enjoyed the taste. But wished it was a little crispier. The berry jam cake was, for me, super nice. It had a good cakelike density. Not like angel food that feels as if the wind could blow it away. And the jam was fantastically berry-flavoured without being too sweet. It also had a dusting of cinnamon sugar on top, which was nice. I don't think my friend fancied it as much, saying it was noticeably vegan. But as someone who has been lactose intolerant for years, while I could taste the apple-sauce-instead-of-butter substitution in the batter, I actually preferred it to an overly rich, oily dairy taste. We both enjoyed the wholesomeness of the flax seeds in the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and its oatey texture. However, both of us, without conferring first, offered the same sentiment: it tasted like it had a touch too much bicarbonate of soda in the mix. Still, we finished every last bite. The little shop also has some seating in the back, and an outdoor garden with seating for when it's warm down a few steps out the back door past the toilets. I'd like to come back and sip a shake in summer. And I was just chuffed to find it's the same shop I'd once adored in Camden Market, rebooted in Holloway. Wanting to give this place five stars because of its awesome vegan punkness, delicious baked goods, and reasonable prices, I nonetheless considered giving only four because of some of the flavour flaws profiled above. I'd give 4.5 if I could. But because vegan is just so much more sustainable and better for the environment, I'm glad this shop is doing its bit. So until London has more vegan dessert shops to choose from, I'm going to give five stars here for concept, exhibition, and execution.
