She upgraded my room for free, so I got a suite on the 10th floor with a view if the beach. It was even cooler to see the airport, actually. She also came around from the country and showed me which pamphlets were useful for sightseeing. Awesome. My biggest problem is that there is no free internet. Well you can get it for free for 30 min in the lobby, but that's crazy.

From the outside it looks like just your local run-of-the-mill pub. Upstairs was a very different story. Forget drinks in the city where you end up meeting and greeting your entire facebook list, bring a couple hundred of your closest friends and family to this place. There's a separate room at the back to keep all your family's embarrassing antics hidden away, a lounging area with a main bar (with access to the pokies room), and a huge dance floor area with room for all your hired DJ equipment. It's all newly renovated and in perfect condition for you and your friends to make as much noise as you want into the early hours of the morning.

Like in any unfamiliar territory, having a native tour-guide is a comfort and a relief, and will often keep you out of danger. Weekends are worse still, as the pub fills with more and more raucous and rowdy locals and pool table turf is hotly contested in masculine turf battles. A couple of good points? The refurbishments here are quite nice and parking is ample (for quick getaways if the locals turn on you). Also, it's a stonesthrow from Maccas - an equally positive and negative point. My recommendation would be to perhaps head in to Maccas to meet a local first. Befriend him, buy him a burger, then head over to check out CP. Or, if you're brave, head in here alone. But don't be surprised when every pair of eyes follows you around the pub. Surely they've got to get bored of it after 5, 10, 40 minutes? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Either way, you've been warned.

When we got to the room, it looked dirty. This was confirmed when we saw the state of the bathroom, like someone had thrown Jif on the shower, a toilet seat that wasn't affixed to the toilet and bare electrical cables in the bathroom. In the bedside draws we found other peoples clothes and a booking slip from September with a previous guests personal details. Clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Where the TV was supposed to be, there was a dirty steak knife and a bunch of screws, along with a variety of dead bugs. The 24 hour secure parking is in fact not fenced, not secure and is covered in signs sayings 'park at your own risk'. Checkout isn't any better, we packed up and went to hand the key back at 830am. Only to discover that no staff are there until 10am. An hour and a half of our time in Sydney spent waiting to hand the key back. Do yourself a favour. Don't stay here. Your car has better amenities, it's cleaner and probably safer too. Save your money and go out for a nice steak dinner.

As you enter the complex you find the travelodge to your right. The front of house staff are welcoming and check in was hassle free. We were given our swipe card and explained where to find our way to the rooms. We were in an executive room so lucky to have free wifi (but if you don't, the club has it too). The amazing glass lift takes you up to your rooms with wonderful views of the surrounding areas, as did our executive suite. The room was spacious, a huge comfortable bed, futon/couch and it was extremely clean and well decorated. There was a kitchenette, microwave and POD coffee machine for the traveller which was convenient. We were also lucky enough to receive complimentary water, chocolate and a hand written card to wish us a wonderful stay. This was a lovely touch. Everything about the experience was great and extremely hospitable. Make sure you book, I understand it gets very busy with customers to the sports club and workers in the area.

This hotel is simply perfect…read more Location:: Perfect! The hotel is easy to get to from the airport using public transportation. Just buy an Opal card and take the train to Central Station. Ask someone to point you in the direction of the light rail. Take the light rail to the Convention Center stop. Once there walk into the adjacent parking garage. Take the elevator to the fourth floor as if you're going to Novotel. Walk through the parking garage until you hit Murray St. and the hotel will be across the street from you. After you've checked in you can go back through the fourth floor of the parking garage to the walking bridge that will take you to the harbour and shops. You can walk all over town from this central location... across the Pyrmont Bridge, over to Chinatown, a relatively short walk to Circular Quay... it's really a great location. Swag and free stuff: Amazing! When you book on their website you get free happy hour at their bar, everything in the mini bar is free, free breakfast, free loot bag of snacks, free tote bag to swing around town or load up a few extra gifts for home. Lots of goodies! Attention to detail: Never better! From the spare toilet paper that reads "who gives a crap" to the frame hanging in the lobby for people to take selfies with, this place is fun and interesting. I found myself wanting to explore the hotel as much as I wanted to explore Sydney. Food: Nice spread! They had a really nice continental breakfast spread in the morning... lots of fruits, breads and pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, a variety of juices, and a coffee machine. I think there would be something there for everyone but if that didn't suit your fancy you could also pay for other breakfast options from the kitchen or coffee bar. Literally the only downside I came across was that the walls were thin so I could hear a lot of noises from the hallway and laundry room. So pack some ear plugs!
