I have had $40 haircuts in Chicago, $25 haircuts in Birmingham, and seen various barbers in rochester. None of them compare to Rochester Barber. They do extremely solid work, and I can be in and out in a matter of minutes. -Dave read more

Didnt listen to a single thing i said and had no idea how to cut hair. Would never recommend this place and it's a scam they charge a ton of money. i show him 5 pictures of what I want and he gives me a bowl cut. Almost like a 3 year old cut my hair. Complete idiot. Was probably autistic read more

Best place to get a haircut in the area, hands down. I always look sharp when I leave and appreciate the owner and his staff.

Fantastic! Fast and perfect haircut in my son. Highly recommend this shop. Thanks Bob

One of the best haircuts I ever received professional barber Mitch is an excellent haircutter sculptor takes pride in his work the G-MAN

Been coming here exclusively for a decade. Best barber shop in Rochester Hills and beyond

1st time gettn my boys haircut here. Nate gave my youngest son the best fade n superman design. My 17yr old also loves his haircut.

Nate gave my wiggly 4 year old a great fade. He was able to work around his twitches and giggles and produced a great hair cut. I don't live in the area, but will definitely be back. read more

I have been going here for years, it is the best place in the area for a men's haircut. Down to earth, authentic, and everything that a barbershop should be. read more

I needed a beard trim. Bad. I looked like I had stumbled out of the woods after being dropped there by unloving parents and left for dead. I had learned to survive and joined a pack of wolves. They took me in as their own and I learned to hunt and survive. But in real life I just took to Yelp and found this place close to home. Not many reviews but the ones that were there were positive so I decided to stop in and get cleaned up. The space is awesome. Old Detroit sports memorabilia adorned every inch of available wall space. It was quite the spectacle. My barber, who's name I cannot recall, was great. Spent some quality time with my facial overgrowth and I came out looking like Al Borland from Home Improvement. Oddly enough this is a good look for me. While I was in the chair I decided to get a haircut as well. That went as smooth as the beard trim. All around quality at Rochester Barber Shop. Be advised that this place is CASH ONLY. Normally I hate that but everything else made up for it. It's cheap as all get out too. $17 for a haircut and beard trim. Guys, go get yoself tightened up here. It's truly awesome! read more

I went in to the Rochester Barber Shop for the first time and had a fantastic experience. The staff was extremely friendly and had a customer first approach. I am definitely going to be a return customer. read more

Just stopped by for a haircut here cause I couldn't get into my regular barber in time... The haircut is 14 bucks before tip. Felt like there was a pretty huge lack of attention to detail. The barber asked me what I wanted and I told him and I had some pictures of what my hair usually looks like. He kind of ignored me. Overall, the cut turned out okay, a little uneven at parts. You get what you pay for I guess. Also, I know we don't go to the barber for a conversation or anything...but it was oddly silent. Felt like he didn't make much of an effort to even talk to me. Never even told me his name. Would have been nice to have a little bit of small talk at least? Anyway, probably won't be coming back, but it's not a bad place if you're in a jam. Good luck. read more

I cannot begin to explain how good everything is here! I've gotten haircuts at barbershops all over the country and so far not have been better than this place. Dusty, was so thorough and so knowledgeable it was very impressive. We shared decision-making on my haircut which was the best way to do it I was very impressed with the results. Very clean location very knowledgeable staff as you can tell and very professional. Also, the price is right. If I was ever to be back in Michigan I will definitely come back here again and again. PS, she also gave me tips on how to get my haircut just like she did at my local barbershop back home in Oregon. read more

This place is slick. I came her as I didn't want to spend more than $40 at a salon. It is located the mini strip mall inside the building on Main Street. There are two barbers and 6 others waiting for a cut. On the walls are all neat knick knacks and Detroit sports memorabilia. They have the large old school barber chairs. They look like 1950 circa. And of course there is hair on the floor. They usually have 3 barbers but one guy had to take off today. The haircut was great! Come here as it is worth it. read more

When it comes down to it, the 3 things every man has are: A good brand of whiskey, a reliable pair of boots, and a trusty barber. This barber is a straight up, no frills establishment that every man has to have as their barber. Prior to this, I used to go to Lady Jane's. (yes, lady fucking janes). This is the place to be. They specialize in giving you that straight up, clean, all American cut. No shampoo, no asking if you wanna buy some hair products, no asking you to book your next appointment in advance, none of that bs. read more

Ever since Great Clips cut my son's ear during his second hair cut ever, he has not sat still for another, let alone let a clipper get near his ears....... Until now. I took him here today, Joe cut his hair and not only did he sit still but he also let him trim by his ears. Joe was great with my 2.5 year old and he gave him a great cut. I think my son liked feeling like one of the guys instead of going with mommy to a salon. We will definitely be back even though it's a bit of a drive, the service is worth it. read more

Received a good haircut from Joe, who made me look good and was a lot of fun to talk in their retro sports attired barbershop. Winning!

Great place. Highly recommend to anyone. Atmosphere is awesome - tv, music, old fashion arcade games. Plus Brian the owner is great and awesome guy. Go here for great service and great prices. You cannot beat this place at all. After the haircut you can walk around downtown, but either way you will not leave disappointed. What a barber shop should be like. read more

My 10-year-old son got his hair cut yesterday and he loved it so much, he wouldn't let me touch the top of his head when I kissed him goodnight. :P The only time he feels this good about his hair and appearance is after a fresh cut from these guys! Kind barbers, rad atmosphere, and much appreciated penny bubble gum machines. Thanks, Rochester Barber Shop! read more

This may be the best barber shop I ever went too. It really reminds of the place my dad took me, when I was growing up. The prices are very reasonable, and the haircuts are great. They will even give you a shave! I have been going for about six months now and never got a bad cut. My last cut was by Mark, he is great! He listened to what I wanted and took the time to get it just right. This is not five minute chain haircut; these guys are the real deal. read more

Was in from out of town and needed a cut in a pinch and found them with the help of yelp! Good guys and location with not much of a wait. Since it was my first time in I know they couldn't do exactly what it is I get from my normal barber but it was decent...could have taken it a bit shorter on the sides but then again it could have just been my poor explanation lol read more

This place is by far the best barber shop , some time in mid August I took my son there for his first hair cut and was pleased how we were treated and the barber was very friendly and gentle with him , very happy place looks awesome love a family owned places like this and we are gone be a customer for life thanks again . For the fellow yelpers if you live in the area this is a go to place read more

Most of the guys here are incredibly friendly and great at what they do. Dependably good cuts and quick service.

I've had my haircut in every chair, each cut was as slick as the last. I say this after years of coming here, Brian has created a great atmosphere and he is great with my boys...especially with my youngest who refused a haircut with scissors for nearly two years while going there (thank goodness that phase is over). He also had a phobia of the barber and would scream prior to going...that all changed when we came here, he is now excited to go here every time. read more

I tried Barbers on 4th and Lady Janes and both butchered my hair. Ive been coming here for about 6 months now and neither of those places compare to the cut you get here. Love this place. Real 50's feel. Mayberry R.F.D. on T.V., lots of local sports stuff on the walls. Toys in a box for kids to play with, while I get my haircut. Always get a great haircut.
