They are located under dessert oasis coffee shop and you get to them through the back door (or you can through dessert oasis but I don't think you're supposed to go in that way). They are located at the end of the hallway down 3 or 4 stairs, they previously had a smaller shop in the same hallway but are now in a larger much nicer area at the end of the hallway. They've added two new barbers in the last year, Kevin and Seth. I had always gone to Maxwell but he recently left and started his own place a little too far away from me so I switched to Seth. I had my first haircut with him about 2 weeks ago. They used to be priced $30 a haircut, then $35 and now $38 so the prices do keep going up, but they are very good at what they do. They take all credit cards and Apple Pay/NFC contactless. They also sell their own hairstyling cream but before that they used Shiner Gold which I prefer and still use. All booking is made online, and usually they're booked at least 2-3 weeks out but because of COVID everyone is booking appointments and it will probably take you a month to get in so make an appointment ASAP. I make mine every 2 weeks for 3 months in advance. You have to pay for additional things like hair washing and beard trimming which is kind of annoying but its a business and they're allowed to charge what they want. They will line your beard up for you though - you just need to ask. Also be sure to ask they wipe all the hair off your face, sometimes they don't do it and you think you look great until you walk outside and realize you have hair everywhere and look like you just left getting a haircut and have to go home and wash your face off. I don't see myself going anywhere else though. Great work guys!

You can show up casual and feel comfortable, or dress it up a bit on a weekend night and fit right in. I can't personally speak to the haircuts, but my ex used to come here and always said they did a great job -- and his hair did back him up on that. What I can speak to is the bar service, which is phenomenal. For a while, this was my bestie's and my favorite spot. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and just the right amount of polished without feeling pretentious.

My stylist, Ryan, was particularly easygoing yet clearly knew his stuff, even stopping his work for a minute to ask me a few questions about my preferred styles and whether I knew particular hairstyling terms and if I felt they'd fit well for me. The extra segments of the styling (hot towel face wash and straight razor neck shave) are built into the experience, thus accounting for the higher price, and are well worth the effort. The shop was slightly hard to find in the scheme of the outdoor mall, but if you look for Whole Foods, you won't be far away from it.

I had worked with Tony LaRosa, the owner at Ford but never knew that he was a barber. I just walked in and said, "Where can I see Tony the Barber" He was as shocked to see me, as I was to see him! After he finished with a customer, I sat down for a "Businessman's Cut just above the ears. For those who have never visited LaRosa's Barber Shop, it's not real big, but Tony has 4 chairs and that day he had two other barbers, plus himself cutting hair. The interior is a sports theme, with pennants of all the local college and professional teams; magazine covers, and pictures of the great Detroit spots icons. Ask Tony where he hanged up the pennant for the OHIO STATE BUCKEYES (Tony is a big Michigan Wolverine fan) But, more about "Tony the Barber".
