Came with measurements and a floor plan and my designer came up with a really creative way to set up my room. Sounds great - right? It was, until when the furniture was delivered, I discovered my designer had ordered the wrong size dresser/chest unit. It fits in my room but not in the way I thought it could be arranged. I called the store immediately, the designer came to the phone but offered no apologies, no options. It's a custom piece, of course, so I can't return it. But I am deeply disappointed and will not use this particular Ethan Allen again. Buying furniture should be fun - and for the price, their customers should be thrilled with how the room turns out. I can't dump tens of thousands on furniture right now - there will be plenty of business for them over time.

Unfortunately there was an…read moreexplosion in the home just prior to purchasing it and I was forced to postpone the delivery of my furniture order (had nothing occurred the order would have been able to be delivered on time). This is where Ethan Allen customer service fell apart. Other vendors gladly agreed to hold my orders for many months with no issues due to the unusual unforeseen circumstances Ethan Allen refused to extend the time of holding my furniture frequently citing the terms of the contract that I had signed and that it "wasn't their fault". They wanted to force me to pay outrageous storage fees and to pay for the furniture in full, site unseen. I was forced to secure a unit at a storage facility near the property and have the furniture delivered there. This is still an expense, but much cheaper option than what Ethan Allen was going to charge me for storage. They even had the nerve to not deliver the complete order to the storage facility. They had to make a 2nd delivery to the unit a week later with the missing items. The storage unit is near my new home but is a 200 mile round trip from where I am temporarily living. So I had to travel a total of 400 miles because of their negligence with the delivery. Manager Barbara and salesperson Deborah were absolutely abominable and have zero compassion or customer service skills. I realize what occurred fell outside the parameters of their precious contract, but this was a very unique and unusual situation which required them looking past all that to help out a customer. Shame on Ethan Allen. They represent themselves as a high end store...when you are purchasing. Once the purchase has been finalized their true colors shine through. ** I live in Congers NY. I paid the extra $121 under duress & at that point, they turned around & refused to deliver & refunded my money. I believe they finally refused it to me bc they realized that they wouldn't be able to get me to pay even more than the $121 extra they managed to gouge out of me! I reported them to Consumer Protection but they can't be held accountable legally bc they refunded my money. As a result, I will take my business elsewhere for the other furniture I need to purchase in the future & I suggest anyone reading this do the same.

I recently found a Safavieh brand, small 2x4 rug for my galley kitchen at on online store but tried my luck here and see if they have that style so I can whisk it away. Only available rugs are large Persian area ones with the exception of just 2 small rugs in colors I wasn't going for. I mentioned to the folks here I was in the market for a specific small size and a particular color rug. While the service was professional, I honestly felt that because I didn't drain my bank account with any of their items, tone and body language changed towards the end and were way off. But to their benefit, rugs are quality and these folks have a lot of daring pieces. Even the items that have cracks or marks on them, were outrageously priced.

Blonde lady in her 60's made it clear that I'm just a small fry and wasting her time. I came prepared and knew exactly what I wanted. I only needed help choosing between two wood tones and asked to see a table to help me with my decision. At one point she said look in this area as she sat busy on her laptop. Also what chairs would fit best?. I wanted to be able to have arm rests and still push the chair under the table. She told me to come back when I know what I want. I walked around read description of displayed pieces and left disappointed. My teen daughter also noticed how stuck up she was. I did ordered on line, and by leaving I had time to scroll on line and found chairs at 1/3 price (no armrest). Thanks for nothing you miserable old hag. I ordered a made-to-order Hyde upholstered swivel armchair set (two chairs) in Rustic Chenille Brown on September 16, 2025, specifically to ensure accurate color matching for a full home renovation. The chairs were delivered on December 12, 2025, and immediately upon delivery it was clear that the color did not match the agreed-upon specifications. The difference was obvious and substantial. I reported the issue right away and provided clear photographic evidence, including side-by-side comparisons with the original fabric swatch. Despite this, my request for a return and refund was denied without a substantive review. The "made-to-order" label was used as a blanket excuse rather than addressing the fact that the product did not match what was ordered. Being unable to reach anyone with decision-making authority left me with no reasonable path to resolution. Ordering made-to-order furniture should not mean forfeiting basic consumer rights--especially when the product delivered is materially different from what was promised. As I got older, though, I came to appreciate their merchandise and would browse every once in a while in passing. It wasn't until recently, though, when I needed to make a purchase that I actually became a customer. Crate & Barrel sells upscale housewares - including furniture, kitchenware, art, and storage pieces. A family member is getting married soon, and registered here so I decided to make my way over to pick up my gift. The store is one of the larger ones in the mall - taking up two floors with easy access within the store to flow between them. I tried finding the gift I wanted to purchase on my own but couldn't seem to find it on display. Soon after, I was approached by an employee who was able to help me get one from their stock; she also ensured the item was marked as purchased on the registry. Overall, I had a pretty seamless experience at Crate & Barrel. It's out of my price range to be a regular shopper here, but perhaps one day.
