Co-Sign Speakeasy serves a variety of excellent cocktails in the "Bank on 8th" building that was…read morebuilt in 1926. The bar's space was renovated to transport customers to the secrecy of the Prohibition era. Through OpenTable, I made a reservation for my husband and me. We entered the building through a side entrance on Amity Street, checked in with an employee at a desk, and then waited for another employee to walk us to the 100-year-old elevator (it still works!). On the fourth floor, we saw old bank items such as safety deposit boxes and mechanical check printers. We pushed a button to turn a clock handle to a certain time, and then a hidden door opened. We entered the bar, and two bartenders, Ryan and Robbie, greeted us. The menu listed vodkas, gins, tequilas, mezcals, liquors, bourbons, ryes, rums, seasonal drinks, and mocktails. Food could be ordered from the Puerto Rican restaurant Secretos De Mis Abuelos that is located elsewhere in the building. The bar consisted of a few rooms, each of which had glamorous interior design such as antique furniture, wallpaper with bold patterns, paintings, and dimly lit lamps. Beyond the bar was the Library, which had shelves of books and an old radio. The bartenders patiently repeated to us that we should pull a certain book to open another secret door that would lead us to the Red Room. We finally figured out which book to pull, and we walked down stairs to a parlor with rich, red hues, plush seating, and (at least at that time) a more private, quiet setting. I ordered the French martini (vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice, raspberry vanilla shrub, and raspberries) and the Painkiller (spiced rum, coconut rum and cream, pineapple juice, orange juice, and nutmeg), and I rate them both as 5 stars. Each of those drinks cost $13 plus tax, credit-card fee, and tip.

There's a main space with the bar with surrounding tables, a smaller back room with some comfy chairs, and a hidden room underneath that's fairly spacious. The service was great and I was able to get a drink really quickly. I liked how they let the birthday person bring in outside food and utensils and set it up in the back room. I got the Hawaiian Hangover drink and it was delicious and well crafted. I'm sure I'll be back!

They offered a hot dog menu all summer, so I tried a vegan dog and fries on my last trip. The fries needed more salt (easily fixed), but the vegan dog was a sad, sad puppy beyond fixing. The faux meat was too small for the bun and was buried under a mountain of toppings. It was also rubbery, which usually means it was overcooked. I ended up not eating most of it. I won't be getting hot dog again.

Our table enjoyed their (chicken) doener kebab, veggie flammenkuchen, double smash burger, and spicy schnizel sandwich. The grilled peach Southern tea with bourbon was particularly nice. We sat inside, where it was cooler and marginally less loud. The outdoor patio space was packed for the Stevie Wonder tribute band. Dogs welcome out there. There is reportedly parking in the back, but we didn't know that, so we parked on the street, which is free after 6pm.

You walked in and can either take the stairs or elevator up to the third floor. There's a couple of couches, a water fountain, and some memorabilia on the ground floor. The second is off limits. The taproom is pretty big and we didn't sit outside since it was cold but there's a rooftop deck as well. There's a food counter with a small menu and two open bars from different breweries. I like that they have smaller pours that are reasonably priced. I'm a dark beer lover and they had a few options for me. We sat there at the bar and closed down the place. This place is a little out of the way but I would come back!

This really can be a great space. An old historic building given new life and bringing people into…read morethe community. This space houses two (soon to be three) breweries and has a kitchen. There is an outdoor ground level patio and bars in the nice weather but that is all currently closed. There is also a rooftop space which I have been to before and it's great. It's nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the views while having a nice drink, though it can get crowded. Inside there is plenty of seating. You can grab a stool at the bar by Abstract Realm. There are large tables. TVs around. Plenty of room to gather. I personally have not tried the food but it's nice that there is a kitchen there to grab some food. As far as the beer I think it will be helped when the third brewery opens just to give some more variety and options which is needed. There is a parking lot but it is small and can fill quickly which may leave you looking for nearby street parking. Overall I think this can be a great stop. It's nice to have a few different breweries where people can each find something to their liking while you are able to gather and socialize.
