Terrible. Was so dark I couldn't see the menu or my food. Everyone had their flashlights on their phones. Bread was the biggest disappointment...burnt & stale. Probably reheated from yesterday. I travel all over the country and Rocco's by far has the best Lobster Raviolis I have ever tasted. The raviolis are filled with crab and lobster and the sauce is like an alfredo mixed with a little roasted red bell pepper. The dish comes with soup or salad which is not impressive and the bread tastes like sliced bread from Kroger. However, it comes out so hot and delicious who really cares about the sides. I wish I could bring myself to try something else but I just can't. read more

We live 2 hours away but were in the Barboursville area this evening when my husband, who is Italian, said he was craving spaghetti. I opened my Yelp app and searched for Italian restaurants and found this gem. I went to the website and learned that Rocco's parents own Muriale's in Fairmont and we knew it was going to be authentic Italian food. We have eaten at Muriale's numerous times on weekend trips to WVU games. Everything at Rocco's was spectacular!! The ambiance, wine, service and especially the food! Our waitress, Jane, was absolutely fabulous and incredibly attentive. We had stuffed Hungarian wax peppers as an appetizer & my husband had manicotti. I had lasagne. This is as good as Rocco's Little Italy. The main difference is you can't see when you're walking inside because they go with a dark theme. Holding the host's hand on the way to your table is recommended and builds a relationship with the staff. The food: pretty goooooooood. Again, it's on par with Rocco's Little Italy which is delicious. Is this Rocco's modern life? But anyway, let's talk about the crabmeat pasta dish in a white sauce: it's not bad. In sum, if you don't like Italian food, I would not recommend this place because it's Italian. read more

I have been dining at Rocco's for as long as I can remember! This is my most favorite place to eat! The owners as well their waitresses are like family! The food is fantastic! Some of my favorites are the Trout Ravioli, Langostino Lobster and Lasagna. They also have one of the best steaks I've ever had! I love the atmosphere! read more

My husband took me here to celebrate Valentine's Day I had such high hopes that this was going to be great. Well I was very disappointed they had all the tables crammed in the room, we waited for about 20 minutes before our server waited on us, she was to busy gossiping with the regular customers to wait on us. She did take our order for appetizers and food all at the same time and after she brought our food we did not see her again for a long time, so no drink refills. This was our first time eating at Rocco's. The atmosphere is quaint and has small restaurant charm. Our meals were Amazing, the chocolate amaretto cheesecake with raspberry drizzle was out of this world, and we had outstanding service by John, our waiter. I think I went to Rocco's with high expectations after reading such amazing reviews here. Here is my honest opinion: it was pretty good, not GREAT. For one, the bread leaves little to be desired. Then we decided that we would order some garlic bread, which also left little to be desired. The restaurant itself had some cute decor, and the ambiance was wonderful for a date night out (we went on Valentine's day). The service wasn't the best. I think maybe our waiter thought because we were young that we wouldn't be tipping well. He hardly spoke to us, and was sharp and sarcastic throughout our meal. The food was the winning part. It was delicious and the portions were huge! I would definitely recommend getting a 1/2 plate if you aren't a big eater. I got the manicotti and I had enough for the next day! read more

My boyfriend took me here last weekend for the second time and again it was amazing. Easily one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I visit Huntington. Such a lovely place with Italian food that is out of this world. I personally loved the atmosphere. Very homey and of course very Italian. NEVER ORDER TAKE OUT FROM ROCCOS I placed a call in order for one meal (Jumbo lump crab Alfredo with red peppers and mushrooms and a salad with extra onions). When arriving to the restaurant, no one greeted me. I had several encounters with employees before someone finally decided to help me. I was told, when placing the order, to arrive 35 minutes later for pick-up. I arrived 1 hour later and the order was not ready. I waited an extra 25 minutes on the ONE meal. If I wanted to wait that long I would have dined in. After getting home, I discovered there was a very small amount of crab meat on the the dish and only 1 piece of red pepper. To no surprise, there was only a small piece of onion on the salad. On the positive side the food tasted ok. I've had better and worse. Nothing to rave about, if one has ever traveled elsewhere. I do not recommend take out from this restaurant. The boy who brought the food out to me said sorry, somewhat grumpy and scurried away. read more

Food: Excellent, with good portions. By far, the best Alfredo sauce I have had. Very good beverage selection. Service: Also excellent. Polite and classy. Depending on which night, though, there may be a long wait. Price: Somewhat expensive, but well worth it. Atmosphere: Romantic, cozy, and dark. Best Italian I've had in the Huntington area. The dining area is small but the service is friendly. We were told by several staff members that we were given "the best seat in the house" which is fun, I guess. The drink options were really limited to wine, but that's fine because it's Italian. The food. Yes, this is where this place shines. The food is fantastic. Eat all of it, that's fine you won't get something that isn't delicious. However, they don't have cannolis! How is that possible? Get on the ball, Rocco's. We need our cannolis! Price can be a little steep, but not for what you're getting. Overall, recommend. read more

Dark and "finer Italian dining". Nothing wrong with the food. Only scored fair due to mediocre service and really deceptive pricing that was partly my fault. Most of the entrees were in the $15 range. So when our server listed the specials ( not on the menu) I ordered the scampi without asking how much.... nor did he tell us....it was a nice sized portion, a bit light on the garlic, with many vegetables and 3 very large bacon wrapped shrimp on a bed of very thin noodles. However, when the bill came my scampi was $42.95!! It was also 95 cents each for blue cheese on the salads. And the kids spaghetti with meat sauce (not on the menu) was $5.50. A good meal in a comfortable setting but not $98 worth with no drinks, appetizer or dessert. Unlikely we'll go back. read more

Rocco's is an absolute staple in the tristate area. It offers Fine dining with chef infused flavors. It is family owned and operated and provides for a romantic atmosphere with low lighting and tables lit with candlelight. It is authentic Italian food. The pricing can be a bit high, but you pay for the quality you get. We have never had a bad experience here. They offer a wide selection of wines and alcoholic beverages and offers a nice sit down place for late night dining or meetings. A truly beloved restaurant in this area! read more

Terrible service. They took 3 1/2 hours to make 3 dinners, unbelievable! I called in a take-out order to pick up 3 hours later and was told it would it would be ready. After I arrived on-time I had to wait almost 30 minutes to receive my order. Very rude and inconsiderate. I will not allow that to ever happen again! read more

If this were a restaurant anywhere else, it would have received one or two stars. However, being in Huntington, West Virginia, it seems to be a bit of a highlight to some. It seemed quite popular, and they have a menu with a variety of Italian dishes. I asked for vegetarian spinach, and they gladly obliged, without too much difficulty. My friend got some chicken dish which was way too big. She didn't eat a third of it. She didn't seem to care for it. My spinach raviolis were okay, though my one comment is that it seemed about as good as something I would make with ingredients from Trader Joes. We paid about twice as much as we would have like to pay for food of this quality. but it wasn't terrible. Notably, we went with a group of 10, and the waitress gladly split the bill 10 ways. This was my first time at Rocco's and I went in with an expectation of eating good Italian food in Huntington, and that is what I got, good Italian food in Huntington. This is not to be confused with good Italian food in general. Before we get into food, lets start with service. I have read the reviews and most talk about the fabulous service, I just didn't see it. Our waitress was friendly, no doubt about that, but she would go missing quite often. I don't ever rank on service (unless it was atrocious), because in the end the food is what matters. What really matter, the food. We started with the sausage patties with red sauce. The sauce was flavorful, though a little sweet for me, but the paddy was just okay. The patty was way to tough, not tender at all, but did have a fine taste to it and with a little kick. I had the Gnocchi, it was ehhh. The meat sauce (weird to begin with to be served with gnocchi) was just red sauce with ground beef (if it was sausage I didn't taste it) and was average. The meatballs were tender but didn't have much taste and they were just ground beef meatballs, not the traditional pork, beef and veal variety. My wife had the lasagna which wasn't bad. The sausage was flavorful and the sauce was better than the meat sauce that came with my gnocchi. All in all it was a solid meal, but nothing to rave about. Would I go back next time I was in the Huntington area, sure, but I may try and find another place. Also to note, the portions are pretty darn good and that is always a plus when you are stuck in a hotel room surrounded by nothing but nasty drive-thru. Always a plus to have left overs. Also, some people talked about it being expensive... Really? Two entrees, an appetizer, two beers and a glass of wine for $52.89 before tip. I would recommend Rocco's to someone I know who isn't from the area looking for a solid meal. read more

We LOVE Rocco's! We have been here multiple times and always try to go when we visit Huntington. I always get the same thing, lasagna. It is the best I've ever tried. Rocco's has a sauce that I've never tasted before anywhere else. They also have the best house dressing for your salad. The price is reasonable for what you're getting: salad, bread and entree. The atmosphere is very cozy and you can tell a local family owns it. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The owner's wife even stopped by to say hello. read more

We had a great time at this restaurant that seems to have never left its roots. It's your classic low lit, home made Italian comfort food eatery. Rocco's has been in business for almost 40 years and it is apparent with the warm hospitality, awesome Italian decor, and wonderful food. When you walk into Rocco's, you are usually greeted by a family member. The entire family works there and they make you feel like family. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. No doubt, the food and service are great...but I have eaten great meals like this in large cities that are a little bit cheaper in price. My dad ordered the mushroom appetizer which he said was absolutely perfect, followed by the spaghetti which he also said was wonderful. Been living in the area for almost two years now. Rocco's is by far my favorite restaurant around. I would even go as far as saying that it is my favorite Italian restaurant I've been to, and one of my favorite restaurants period. I love the small and intimate feeling Rocco's offers. You walk in and it is very dimly lit, with someone playing either piano and or saxophone at the entrance. The service is always top notch. The food is always incredible and fresh. Rocco is a very nice guy and you can tell a lot of focus is put into each dish. The portions are enormous, usually making for two meals (leftovers). If you factor that in, the price is very good. When you are done eating, they even take your leftovers and box and wrap them for you. Highly recommend the trout dip appetizer, silver palm wine and literally everything on the dinner menu. read more

My husband and I yelped for restaurants on our way back to Virginia Beach from St. Louis and came upon this delightful place! What a surprise! It's located in a quaint town just a little ways off the interstate and worth the short drive. Great ambiance, pleasant and personable staff, fantastic music i.e. singers such as Sinatra, Holiday, Crosby, Fitzgerald, etc., and delicious Italian food with a great wine selection.
