Pat with Rocco Construction is very knowledgeable, thorough, and trustworthy. We had been experiencing flickering lights and intermittent power outages. We had called another electrician that replaced a breaker (which looked used) and told us that he couldn't guarantee that it would fix the problem. If the problem came back, he would have to troubleshoot all the fixtures and bill hourly. The problem continued so we decided to get a 2nd opinion. When we called Pat, he asked questions that led him to believe that it was an So CA Edison related problem and not our panel or fixtures and told us to call SCE. We also wanted our panel checked so he came out the very next day and checked all the points leading to the panel and showed us the most likely SCE cable connection problems. A week ago I decided to call Rocco Construction after I plugged my water dispenser and the outlet blew out as well as other four outlets. I called and he responded fast even asking if it was an emergency to go out the same night. I told him it wasn't an emergency so he said he would go the next morning and he did. He arrived at the time he told me he would be. They were very nice, courteous, professional and most of all they got the work done in a short amount of time. I am a local Realtor and Jeff and Pat Rocco are my "go to guys" for anything electrical. I discovered them through a client when another client's deal was about to fall apart because of two very high electrical estimates. Jeff and Pat came over, took a look at the situation, and were able to find a way to do the job professionally AND for lower cost, and they ended up doing a stellar job. Since then, these are the guys I call whenever a home needs electrical work of any kind -- I would estimate that I've worked with them on at least 10 to 15 different houses and they have always had good prices, show up on time, and keep the work area neat and clean at the end. Once, Pat's knowledge saved my client from buying a home with an electrical panel that was faulty and even when the main breaker was thrown, the electricity did not really turn off. This could have caused electrocution/death for my client if Pat had not noticed this during his very thorough inspection. They also are extremely honest and will tell me ways to make something a lot cheaper while still accomplishing the goal of safety and asethetics, thus saving my clients' time and money. We've been using Rocco for all of our electrical needs for over 4 years. We use Pat for all our rental properties as well as our own homes. Pat and his son, Jeff, are the main crew, though they have additional help on larger jobs. In 2009, they re-wired our kitchen during a kitchen remodel and added all new outlets (64), and new recessed lighting (18). As with any kitchen remodel, we changed our minds a lot, and he always rolled with the punches. In 2010, we needed to renovate an empty unit in a triplex we bought. Pat installed new circuits to the kitchen: washer, dryer, dishwasher and and added 2 GFIs to the counter and by the sink. He installed ceiling fan boxes and switches in 2 bedrooms, wired undercabinet lighting and switch in the kitchen, and added new fixtures in the bedrooms, bathroom, and kitchen. Pat is punctual and trustworthy (we gave him a key to the empty unit). His team stays until the job is done, they don't leave early just because it's 4pm. They are very knowledgeable and professional. He'll always try to save you money by recommending lower energy options. After calling a plumber to replace my garbage disposal (that I thought broke) and calling a handyman to refurbish my stove (which I thought broke), we figured out it was a larger issue. I called Rocco Construction at 11pm on a Saturday night after realizing I might have drilled through a wire while trying to install some floating shelves. I left a message and Pat called me back within minutes and told me he can come check it out the next day (Sunday). I was so thankful that he was able to come on such last minute notice. Jeff Rocco is nothing short of 5 star in service delivery. From my first call to the company, Jeff returned my call within hours to setup a time for estimate. In my new to me home, there are very old wiring throughout. I was looking for an estimate to replace/repair panels/outlets, and ground/GFI multiple outlets. Jeff showed up on time, and provided detail explanations on everything we reviewed. He was also very honest and told me unnecessary services that would not impact the safety of the house. Unlike some others in the past that have recommended rewiring the whole house. Jeff underbid on the estimate by mistake and told me after the work started. However, he was very gracious in completing the work without increasing the original estimate, or complained in anyway. He even brought in extra help to cover the additional work required. He maintained full professionalism throughout, patiently completed the work, while fixed several light fixtures and switches for me as well (no extra cost). I've gotten ~5 written estimates and went through close to 10 different company/contractors. I am glad I waited on the work until I felt comfortable with the company that I found, which is Rocco Construction. We installed a wall mounted tv and needed to have a new outlet installed in the center of the wall, behind the tv. Pat and his team was so helpful in helping us get the job done. He found an existing electrical outlet and used that to draw power for the new outlet. We were very pleased that Pat didn't have to make any extra cuts in our drywall. He made an opening where the new outlet would be and fished the wire through the back of the drywall. This basically meant that we didn't need to do any drywall repair and his team saved us from having to spend money and hire a handyman. This review is ONLY for the communication and professionalism of Rocco Construction, not its work, which based on other reviews is great. I called Rocco Construction twice and each time it resulted in a "please text me pictures/info", so I did. After I texted photos the first time, I got no response. A little over a week later I called again and was again asked to send them photos. I let them know I already had but that I'll text them again so it's at the top of their messages. They said they would likely be able to come out the next week to provide a quote and then work could start the following week. I said that was great and proceeded to text them so they had my info at the top of their message list. They asked one follow up question, which I answered, and then nothing more. Three days later, I asked if they would be able to come out in 2 days so that we could have a concrete time instead of "the next week". To this, I got no response. I've tried calling again since then with no luck. I think if you can get them to come out and commit, the work is probably great. But that's IF you can even get them.
