You would think Rob the owner of No Frills would have a meeting with the staff after all these negative reviews. There seems to be an issue with the staff's attitude towards customers. Well I can honestly say I have experienced both good and bad today!! This was young man filling the selves that was very helpful when I asked him about a product I was looking for he knew exactly what I was looking for. After he found what I wanted he was so nice and asked if I needed help with anything else. What a wonderful surprise that was. I said no thank you and thanks for helping me out. I finished with my shopping and proceeded to checkout where I experienced negative attitude towards me as if I was inconveniencing her day. All I said hello and how she was. I was set back by her attitude. The how dare I talk to her, she looked at me and never said a word. Pointed to pay gave my receipt and started the next customers order. No thank you and have a nice day. Wow so mind blowing how people like that have a job!!!! I'm not sure because she was young or just having a bad day. -some shelves were empty -produce empty or not looking good to buy -nice a clean inside the store -plenty of parking -all so have a gas station in the same lot -I don't come here very often only if I absolutely have to. I'll go to Save On Foods across the road pay for good quality food and happy staff!!! Customer service could improve drastically. Lack of urgency and motivation to help. Stood there and made me feel like I was the show.

I feel I needed to say this in order for MGMT to take note, it's only fair. We have been shopping at this store in the years past. Thought we would revisit the store last night. Simply put, the staff at 7:30 were not at all interested in "serving" us, the customers. They were more interested in chatting with each other at the self serve and the adjacent shopping cart check outs, we are just the paying customers. On top of the cold shoulder we received when greeting them, they never said a positive gesture or word. On the way out of the store some of us customers chatted about of the unfriendly experience. Had the most horrid experience at the store this morning at the hands of a retail staff. She behaved extremely rudely, indifferently and irresponsibly when I asked her about a product advertised on a weekly flyer not available the first day. She then went berserk when I was later self checking out and asked her to delete an item priced more than advertised on the flyer. She was overseeing self check out. May be she has personal issues and was disturbed but had no clue how to handle and speak to a customer. But whatever the reason surely needs better training. The location also needs to do a better job of what is advertised on their flyer and ensure items and their prices are consistent with that read more

I'm used to No Frills in Ontario and compared to those, which I would give 4-5 stars, the Airdrie store is severely lacking. Produce is old, overpriced and close to rotting. Shelves are empty. Name brand products rule the shelves at high prices. Few cahiers on the job and forced to pay $2 for a bag to pack the overpriced items in. No no-name grated parmesan to be had, among with numerous other items. This week they are advertising a summer sale on chicken breast for $5.99 a pound, I used to get it for $2.99 a pound on sale. How are the profits for shareholders - through the roof. The only reason that I even go to this store is for the Smokehouse bacon. When they jack the price of that up, I will not enter the place again. And, my business is not going to any other National Grocers. read more

Rob's No Frills store does not match other No Frills stores. Generally are higher priced and items cannot be matched because they went digital so items cannot be shown from a flyer. Pretty smart if you asked me any thing. All stores should be the same because of price discrepancy and not being able to access the proper No Frills flyer especially from ROB'S in Airdrie,Alberta. They make no sense. Say they do price matching, but then only if you bring in the flyer.... not online. But if it's a regular priced item cheaper at the other store, then it does not go in the flyers. Rip off when you trying to budget with a family of 5 and one income. The clerk was nice in explaining to us she has gotten into trouble before by letting people show it online. I have been using no frills ever since I moved to Airdrie (moved here 2 years ago) 2 days ago. We bought pork from No Frills and on the same day we bbqed it and ate them. My wife and my 2 years old daughter were puking all night and it was my daughter's first time puking after eating solid food. I and my wife are suffering major stomach until now. Easily my least favourite place in town to get groceries. Your weekly ad comes in the mail, and the prices look phenomenal - huge discounts over what other local stores are seeking products at, and on items you'll probably be using anyway. It looks longer a great place to hit up. Reality: 1) Carts for Rent. The store still has a "cart rental" system, so be sure to bring a quarter with you to release your dirty cart from the stalls. Don't forget to return it or you'll be out a buck later. 2) Lack of products. The store is frequently out of advertised sale items. Not just out of product on the shelves, but store-wide. There are lots of signs all over advertising supply shortage and "substitutions", but don't count on getting exactly what you went there for. Even as early as Sunday morning, you'll be likely to see holes in the shelves. Oh, and no rainchecks. 3) PC Points is a joke. Every other chain's loyalty program lets you buy what you need and get rewarded. Some offer bonuses on certain products. No Frills makes you load digital offers on specific products, and you'll only get points if you buy those items. Spent $50 on groceries? No points unless you bought those products. Bought those items but forgot to load the offers from the app or website? No points there either. 4) BYOB - bring your own bag or you'll be paying for each one you need. If you're bad at guessing, you'll end up short and need to buy more, or end up with extras. And don't expect help bagging...that's on you, friend. 5) No customer service desk. Want to inquire about something? You'll have to hunt for someone in the store, or wait in the register line. If you're lucky, you'll get an associate who can help. Most of the staff is pretty friendly, even if they can't help you, so there is that. This store is good if you need something cheap and generic, but for the poor quality of the service and lack of product, I'd recommend Co-op instead, 9 times out of 10. read more

This is a no frills store, alright. I've driven by a dozen times and finally stopped in yesterday. It's like a mini Superstore. Many products are President's Choice and No Name. There's no bakery or deli, but there is a pharmacy and basically anything you'd need for groceries. I wandered most of the isles and did pick up a few things. From what I can tell, most prices are the same as Superstore but various items are cheaper, such as salad dressings and some meats. I didn't scour the fruit and vegetables area. There is no self check-out but the store wasn't very busy, so the line I did wait in didn't last long. I'd say that if you're in the neighborhood, it's worth a browse for some good deals. I'm already a Superstore shopper, so this place isn't really worth the effort. If you ever need a place that'll give you snacks for cheap, THIS IS IT! Usually I don't like the store brand chips or other food but No Name is really good. Especially their potato chips. They're $1.39 per bag and better than the near $3 a bag Old Dutch. Honestly this is a great store and needs more customers. Thumbs up! read more
