I have to say that just this week I brought 2 separate vehicles into this shop for my first time and have never been more impressed with an auto shop. The employees were very friendly and honest up front. My vehicle needed a lot of repairs and what impressed me most is how they kept me very informed on the process throughout the time my vehicles were at the shop. They gave very accurate quotes during the process and in fact was less than the original quote due to a sensor that I thought was bad but was just not installed correctly from a different shop. I should've written this 20 years ago. I have been taking ALL my cars to Rob's since I found them in about 1995. I didnt trust mechanics until then and was so glad I finally found one I could. I have about 22+ yrs FT delivery experience in my past, and for the past 9 years have also done about 8-15K miles of summer pleasure driving. That's a lot of cars and a lot of repairs. Rob's Auto has always been trustworthy and VERY fair in what they charge. They replaced a blinker light bulb recently and didnt even charge the full $42 minimum service fee right on their sign! If you want a mechanic you can trust will look out for your interests and not just get as much out of you as they can, and will do the job right - I highly recommend you try them. read more

I really wish I could give a better review. Our car broke down .25 miles from Robs auto so it was towed there for convenience. Our engine needed to be replaced. They ordered a used engine to put in the car, but the wrong engine arrived. Which extended the number of days we had to pay for use of a rental car, while we waited for the right engine to arrive and be installed. $3200 and a week later we had a new engine. They told us to watch for any oil leaks and if we saw any, come back. We did see oil leaking so went back with the car and were told they could not do anything to fix it. :/ we def did not have this oil leak before the new engine was installed. A few months later the leak was getting worse. Being as the car was our one reliable vehicle for our new baby, we needed it to be in good condition. Another repair shop encouraged us to go back to robs auto. It was leaking where the engine connects to the rest of the car. We went back again- and they were willing to fix the oil leak at a reduced rate. 450$. But 450$ I was not hoping to spend :/ still nice of them to give a discounted rate for a lot of work! I drove the car and noticed the alignment was waaay off on the car after the oil leak repair. And another car repair shop had just aligned it 1 week prior. Come to find out the alignment got off when they fixed the oil leak. They did not realign the car afterwards:/ At this point I was leery to have them touch our car anymore: so had another shop realign our car for the second time in one month for 90$. Robs auto offered to pay for the cost of this second realignment. Super nice however gosh so much trouble and hassle we went through to get our car fixed- having to bring it back so many times for things they should've done right the first time. They do not use computers to keep track of your repairs... so there is no easy way for them to look up your history with them. Everything is hand written.So save your receipt! read more

I have used Rob's Auto for my auto repair needs for about 25-30 years. How many times do you hear of an auto repair shop quoting a repair price and actually sticking to it?( Matter of fact a couple of times it has been lower than quoted). The mechanics Shawn and Joel are very knowledgeable in what they do. They always find a way to fit me into the schedule even on short notice! This place is very honest ( which is rare these days)! Every time we get a new vehicle we have them check it over for potential problems, especially with 2 teen drivers that have vehicles. I normally don't write reviews but felt it important to share my experience so that others can take into consideration. We received a quote for two repairs on my sons car (replace the water pump and valve cover gasket). The quote seemed reasonable and my son gave them approval to move forward with the repairs. The following day, Rob's auto called and left a message for my son stating that the water pump had been replaced but they could not replace the valve cover gasket because it would take more time than they originally estimated. The cost of just replacing the water pump was over 90% of the cost originally quoted for both repairs which was a shock. In speaking with the mechanic and Rob the owner, there was an error in the original cost quote they provided. I tried to explain to Rob that my son should have received a call notifying him of the original estimate error and provide another quote for replacing the water pump only. This is a common and prudent business practice. Instead, they went ahead and replaced the water pump with the much higher than expected cost. Because we never authorized Rob's auto to repair only the water pump at the higher cost, I felt some accommodation/price reduction was in order. Rob did not want to offer anything meaningful and instead argued with me repeating we wanted the repair for free which of course my son and I did not. In the end, Rob agreed to cut the cost of the repair in half but drop the warranty citing the full cost of the repair wasn't paid. A point I felt was petty but agreed to it so we could move on. Do I think Rob's Auto is dishonest or tried to cheat us? No. But they made a mistake in their estimate and moved forward with one repair at a higher cost without consulting my son or obtaining his approval to do so. Bottom line, obtaining approval for two repairs for roughly $1K does not equate to approval for one repair for approximately $900. Unfortunately, my son and I felt the situation could have been handled much better Rob's Auto. read more

I have been going to Rob's Auto for years on my larger automotive needs. I know ownership changed in the last couple years, but the customer service and workmanship has not changed. Just this week I scheduled an appointment for my car to have some work done on it and there was a miscommunication between the scheduler and myself on which day I was to bring my car in for repair. I showed up on the day I thought was the correct day after the shop was closed for the day and Joel was still at the shop. Luckily I talked to him and he checked me in and found out I was scheduled a week out. He made some calls and they squeezed me in on the day I thought I was supposed to and completed my car as planned. A lot of places would not have done that. It was greatly appreciated. The quality of work and price is reasonable added to the customer service. I would recommend Rob's Auto as a place to take your car. Nothing has changed from when Rob owned the shop. read more
