I'm a Florida gal born and raised. By far the best fried shrimp I have ever had in my entire life. A MUST TRY on the way to Cedar Key. Steven was an incredibly patient, attentive and kind server.

Small, nothing fancy family owned restaurant. Great service and food. We had seafood platter with. grouper chowder and 2way grouper and crab cake. The food was really good and did not take long to get once ordered. Our waiter was friendly and very attentive. Our go to place when in the area.

We went here for lunch. It's about 15 minutes from the middle of town, so depending on your schedule, it might make a better stop on the way into Cedar Key. That being said, the best things about the lunch were the wonderful fried shrimp and the homemade coleslaw. That is what I should have ordered. My soft shell crab sandwich was a board special that included soup. Since they are in season and I asked if they were fresh (not frozen), I chose that for my lunch. Soup of the day was lentil so I went with the other option which was (red) grouper chowder. The chowder was tomato based and mainly chunks of potatoes with the tiniest flakes of fish and no fish taste and no pizzazz at all. It definitely needed something and no addition of salt nor hot sauce really helped. My soft shell crab was just okay -- small and again no real flavor. The cole slaw that came with it was very good, however. My husband went with another board special -- choosing an AYCE fried sea bass and fried shrimp. He had the same soup. It came with hush puppies that were over cooked and greasy. I stole a piece of his shrimp -- they were lightly battered and very good. Skip the sea bass -- another thing without taste. So I guess it depends on what you order for how you'll view this place. At least now I won't feel I've missed something.

Great surprise fir an out of the way spot. We got the buffet. Well worth the 13.95. Lima bean soup was good but was cold. Fried shrimp delicious. Crab cakes were ehhh just like the other reviews stated. Nice casual place. Wish they would add another restroom. There was a wait to use the only one they had. Hush puppies were the way they should be. Also their salad is a nice size and fresh. Worth the small detour. Small fish market attached too.

Stopped in for a quick bite on our way out of Cedar Key. Small place with a small town vibe. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. We ordered fried crab claws. Those were amazing. My husband also had clam chowder which he enjoyed. We both ordered cheeseburgers. Absolutely No Flavor. Even the coleslaw had no flavor.

Exploring the island of Cedar Key and we decided to travel back a few miles to this place we saw on the way in. A small Seafood Market/Restaurant off the main drag into/out of town. No Alcohol.... in case you were wanting .... They do have some ice tea and soft drinks to offer. Friendly wait staff and comfortable tables and booths on the restaurant side of the house. The 'Specials' board is easy to read, offering All You Can Eat Seafood for $13.95: Fried Shrimp-Mullet-Sea bass, offered all of one kind or your choice of combination, includes Cole slaw and Soup of the day/or Grouper chowder, or both. I chose the fried Shrimp and Sea bass. ( Not a fan of Mullet !) The kitchen is fairly fast, especially since we were the first table to order today. Our grouper Chowder was served steaming hot with small bits of fish, tomato bits and LOTS of cubed potatoes. A little salt and hot sauce added to give it some body and it was fine. The hush puppies were mostly corn meal and they absorbed maybe a little too much of the cooking oil. My Shrimp and Sea Bass was brought out and looked good. The Sea Bass was two thin fillets and again with some tartar and hot sauce, was more pleasing. The fried Shrimp were Great! The Cole slaw was great! If you stop in, I would recommend just the Fried Shrimp and Cole slaw.

Halfway through the all you can eat shrimp!

Ask the Community - Robinson's Seafood

Do they still charge for each individual soda even refills?

No just first drink is charged and the rest are free

Did they have all-you-can-eat buffet style some years ago? We are trying to locate the restaurant where we had some incredible seafood in that area, I remember they had a self-service buffet

It was not Robinsons. I believe there is a Seafood Restaurant at the Doc in town, that does have a buffet. Check yelp for it.

The more we eat the more we realize this wasn't what we ordered, but rather the Shrimp Scampi variant. We call for the manager who argues with us over what an Alfredo sauce is which clearly it is not...he swears it is and that it has separated into God knows what as all we see is a soppy mess of butter and garlic. I show him a picture from Yelp of another customer's Alfredo from the restaurant we are CURRENTLY sitting in and told this is an old picture...We both realize we're getting gaslit as we know what an alfredo sauce is and had the exact dish so we know what it looks like. We agreed that we ate the food and will pay the price for the scampi dish they served us which is $2 cheaper than what we actually ordered. They refused to lower the bill so we left and paid without tipping. I've never had an experience quite like this where the manager will not even work with you. Not even an apology...we will never be back here again. You can judge for yourself if that looks like Alfredo to you.
