Maybe I caught them on better days these days or they've gotten a bit more life. For the most part it's the same, but seems a bit more lively. I spent a lot of time here. As soon as you walk into the mall, it doesn't feel like you're in the Philippines anymore. The canal was nice to see during the day and at night. You can even take a gondola through the canal. They also have an area where you can feed pigeons seeds. They have a lot of the stores and the restaurants that we have in the US. I was joking around saying that I traveled 7200 miles to eat at a Denny's in the Philippines. Lol. And you know I had to hit up the Uniqlo here! Will I be back? Of course. You can also buy tickets for a gondola ride or rent a swan boat. There's something about listening to music while cruising along Daang Hari that makes Saturday afternoons extra fun. We already have a routine established: We go to Kitchen Elf for my baking needs, shop at Rustan's Supermarket for groceries (only when the parental units ask that we do it), buy Aboy's Fresh Lumpia to take home, and pass by McDonald's or Starbucks to get food to eat in the car. When there's a bazaar on the Evia grounds, which is quite a regular occurrence especially during the holidays, we happily explore their wares. Evia is pet-friendly, and is quite a delightful place for furry friends as it has a wide space for walking. Stores are limited at the moment, though, so this is not a place to go to for shopping. But the center has something in it for all members of the family to enjoy. If you're looking to hang out and eat in a mall that's not too busy, you may want to give this a try.

Tagaytay has long been a quick getaway destination especially for those of us who live in the south…read moreof Manila. A very welcome change is the complex built by Robinson's Land collectively called Summit Ridge. Aside from the hotel, it's a very convenient stop as the shopping or mall area has several restaurants like Gilligan's, Razon's, Shakey's, Hap Chan, Starbucks, etcetera. There are also specialty stores at the second level for other needs. What I like most about Summit Ridge is that there's a supermarket (Robinson's, ofcourse) where we can get last minute or emergency stuff we fail to bring to an out of town trip. There's also several stalls (tiangge) in the open area selling an assortment of items from clothes, shoes, souvenir items and even delicacies. For those who do not necessarily intend to purchase anything and just need a toilet break, you'll be glad to know that theirs is quite spacious and kept relatively clean most of the time.
