I feel so blessed to have my son at Robin's Nest. He loves going to daycare! When he's there, he seems to have a great time, and he is constantly learning. His teacher, Ms. Katie, makes games out of cleaning up toys and really encourages good behaviors. My 22-month-old son can already count to ten and say parts of the alphabet because Ms. Katie makes the lessons so much fun. The days are structured really well so that my son has an idea of what to expect and receives the consistency that he needs to thrive. In our previous daycare, I never knew who my son's teacher would be for the day and I rarely received feedback about how his day went. At Robin's Nest, I drop him off with the same teacher almost every day, and I am informed about his day when I pick him up. I love the consistency. At our previous daycare, my son cried terribly both when I dropped him off and when picked him up (he was so emotional...it was hard). Now, he goes right to playing when dropped off and wants me to stay and play with him there when I pick him up. He's so happy there.
All of the teachers at Robin's Nest seem to care about the kids, and Robin, the owner, is almost always on site if I need to talk to her about anything. The daycare is still fairly new, and Robin and the teachers are constantly trying to make it even better for the children. As they make changes (whether it's to the daily schedule or the classroom), they are clear in their communication with parents so that everyone is informed about what's going on. I always feel like I know what's happening in my son's day.
Right now, Robin is leasing part of a church for the daycare while a permanent building is being constructed. The current setup isn't ideal, but it does work. The best part about it is the covered outdoor area, which allows the kids to go outside longer because they can stay out of the sun. The kids seem to love it. And the place is clean--a definite plus when dealing with young kids who put everything in their mouths! At my previous daycare, my son got sick about twice a month. Now, he hardly gets sick.
I highly recommend Robin's Nest and commend both Robin and Ms. Katie for the work they do. read more
