That worked, but then a year ago we moved and I had to find another vet willing to take him. Shores Animal Hospital was the PERFECT solution. At the last vet in Delray Beach, he was totally sedated. As I said, that worked but it was hard on him and hard on me. At Shores though, Dr. Johnson implemented the "Tuft's Protocol" and that was soooo much better. He just becomes so relaxed that the groomer, Ashleigh at Shores Prestige Pet Resort (who is terrific), can get him bathed and clipped. I also use Shores to keep Harley up-to-date on his shots and medical. I cannot say enough things about Dr. Johnson there. She is both kind an thorough and makes it a point to update me after every visit even if he is only there for grooming. I love Shores Animal Hospital, and I am sure you will too!

The last visit was terrible!! I received a phone call asking to set up an appointment for both dogs. I was dealing with a loss and said that I will schedule at a later time. A few weeks went by and I went online to schedule the appointment. After the appointment was scheduled I continued to get calls and text messages asking that the appointments get scheduled. I spoke to someone on the phone and she advised that she seen the appointments scheduled and quoted me $300 for both dogs. I get to the appointment 30 minutes early and quickly got into a room. The male vet tech acted intimidated by one of the dogs and incredibly jumpy. I informed him of the quote of $300 and apparently there were more services listed than the front desk staff could see or that I could see online. The vet tech stated that the dogs would need to come back in 3 weeks for a follow up shot. A non pay week, if this was explained to me I would have scheduled the service another time. I ask, wheat happens if I cannot make it back in 3 weeks? He said that the treatment would need to be started all over again from the beginning. When I inquired about why he did not say anything before, he was nonchalant and shrugged his shoulders saying, that was on me. When the doctor came in she stated that the services would be $367, $67 more than the quote. After the visit the vet tech went to the front "to make sure there were no other dogs up front". I waited five minutes then decided to check out since the tech did not come back. He was talking to one of the receptionists and there were no other clients or animals in the room. The receptionist stated that the amount for the visit was $404, that is way more than the quote on the phone. I advised that was unacceptable and she shrugged her shoulders and said, how would you like to pay? I informed her that I would be writing a review and she told me that was fine. I got me receipt and left. I am not sure that I will be returning.

They come home happy and healthy and are excited when we arrive. My only two complaints are that the drop off area is a tight squeeze and we often have to wait awhile for them to have someone take our pups back with limited places to sit for a short fat person. They do have a couple of bar stools. We are disabled so that is a challenge. The office is as clean as you can expect for a kennel. One thing to note is they require payment up front, which is different than we are used to but we haven't had any issues with that. We recommend them and will continue to use them. While I am very much a dog lover, I was adamant that this would only add chaos and stress to our lives as we already have two large dogs who have a well-established history of being aggressive to any dog who dares enter their property. I said "no." He insisted and begged and pleaded. A compromise was reached; if he could show me that a peaceful integration was possible, I'd agree. Enter Happy Dog Inn. We visited this facility, met Ben and Jen, and shortly after, a very comprehensive plan was developed. Louie was boarded for a week at the Happy Dog Inn, my husband took a week off from work, and twice daily, my husband brought our dogs here for integration, training with Ben's assistance, and overall socialization. The plan was well thought-out and included time with the three dogs at the Inn together, time romping in the fields and learning to like one another, time with Louie at our house while our other two stayed for a couple of hours.... It was, as I indicated, an incredibly comprehensive plan and....it was completely successful! At the end of this week, Louie came home and has become one of the pack, accepted by the other two! The dedication of the entire staff to this endeavor was incredible. All of the young women who work there became involved and invested. Jen and Ben were both texting and checking in and offering moral support. Honestly, by the end of this time, it felt like we had a new family. Amazingly, they charged us only for the boarding time for Louie; there was no charge for the training or the hours of time with our dogs on-site. This was truly a labor of love from the entire staff! Thank you, Happy Dog Inn, for adding a new family member to our family!

We lost our beloved "first born" in the early morning hours. I called CPC around 2AM, and they are truly 24 hours! The secretary passed me on the the after hours Director who called back quickly. Both ladies were very empathetic and caring. The Director confirmed the Gainesville location and was transparent on cost options. By 4AM, their mobile service arrived at our house in rural North Florida. The gentleman was dressed in professional mortuary attire complete with shiny black shoes. My husband and I were very impressed and appreciative on how respectful and reverential he was with the transport process. He communicated multiple times before and after service. He even asked permission that he may have to trim Radar's nails for the paw print as that was his responsibility to complete. They called us later that same day (less than 24 hours) to let us know we could pick up our cremated loved one. It appeared there were a few more options in store than what I discussed with the Director for the memorials. Considering my emotional state, I appreciated the 3 choices on the phone! The wooden rose box is gorgeous and well crafted, and the paw print was done very well. What sets them apart is the certificate of cremation confirming that Radar was respectfully cremated individually. That was very important to us. Again, the staff were exceptional at pickup. As a gift, they included the Rainbow Bridge poem with remembrance wildflower seeds. My husband and I cannot thank you enough! This has been a very tough journey. We very much appreciate your amazing care and work. Thank you for all you do!!
