Came in about 8:30pm on a Saturday night after a round of golf and walked right in. They had crab legs, prime rib, fish, pastas, Asian food, and quite a bit more. The crab legs were good, but that's about it, unfortunately. All the fried food and pasta tasted like rubber, the fish was overcooked, and no horse radish for the prime rib. The servers were nice, but rarelt came around and I don't think they picked up a single plate off of our table, so we just had a few stacks by the time we finished. They had a decent desert bar with some self serve ice cream and a fair selection of toppings. read more

This could be alot better if the person ordering food would not try to find the cheapest vendor out there for product, the price of the dinner there is for the elite but getting soup kitchen quality, most of the food has very bland flavor and all taste like it was cooked together. when the place 1st opened it was all very good but over time it has slowly gone down hill. The food was so low of quality that I wouldn't feed it to livestock. It had no taste, was cold, and overcooked. I think the food had been sitting g for hours before the dump opened. We have never been disappointed at Robert's Buffet in Riverside Iowa ( Riverside Casino and Golf Resort). Their " All you can eat crab legs" are always steamed to perfection. All other foods and desserts on the buffet would even make Gordon Ramsey smile at their quality and presentation. We have eaten breakfast, lunch, and supper there...all meals are superbly prepared. We cMe in yesterday at 5pm for the all American buffet. I spent $53.40 for 2 people. What a joke.where was the American part. The meat loaf was Luke warm at best and tasted horrible like dog food the the chicken what ever was so tough I c ouldnt eat eat do was the do call pork chop the best part was the cold soda. What a shame I fid ask for my moenyvack and was rudly told no the buffet used to be realy hood sadly not any more. I will give 5 stars to Robert's Buffett because their seafood buffet is a great value for $37.99 per person. Their crab legs and salmon were terrific. They also offer seafood paella, mussels, cocktail shrimp, and whitefish. The whitefish was overcooked and dry. I enjoyed their beef brisket, ham, fried chicken, cornbread, and polenta. Their Asian-style stringy green beans were fantastic. I loved that they offered some Asian dishes and soups (egg drop and hot & sour). Sadly, I did not try their Chinese offerings since there were so many food options and I did not make it to their salad bar either. Their dessert tables were fabulous - cherry cheesecake, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, strawberry cheesecake, lemon blueberry, angel sponge cake, etc. They have a separate cookies table! Their pecan pie was the best outside of southern states and I ate two pieces. Staff were very friendly. Please tip your assigned server who brings your ordered drinks. We had a great dinner here and enjoyed playing slot machines for half the day before the Leann Rimes concert. Some people need to temper their expectations - this is not a Michelin rated restaurant, but a great buffet. read more

Just got back from the "All you can eat - Seafood Buffet" at the Riverside Casino. It cost us over $80 for 2 people. I have to say it was the most horrible "Buffet" I have ever been to. The Crab was way over cooked, someone tell their ""Chef"" that crab is already pre-cooked and just heat it up, nope, this ""Chef"" over cooked it so bad the meat was gone in over 60% of the legs - steamed (boiled) all the meat away. And the crab had some sort of Cajun seasoning on it that was way over done and persuaded me to stop eating the meatless crab legs. The shrimp was over seasoned as well, I guess it's best to drink heavily before you blow $38 bucks a person on meatless crab legs. Never going back, not even to play the slots. Eight of us visited Robert's Buffet around 6pm on Christmas Day evening. The restaurant was moderately busy, but there were still plenty of tables available. I thought the variety was great, especially all of the salad bar and dessert options. We were here for about an hour and several of us had more than one plate--When in Rome, eh? Our waitress was super friendly and we tipped her well for working on Christmas Day. She took our drink orders and delivered them quickly. She came by regularly to take away empty dishes. All staff we encountered in the dining room were friendly. We all left stuffed and enjoyed our meals. I was bummed that the green bean casserole had bacon in it, but there were plenty of other options. I do recommend looking around at all of the food options before loading up your plate. 4/5 stars because the carpet in the dining room was just a mess. I'm sure 2,000 people (at least) went through the buffet on Christmas Day, but staff could have gone around to clean up the obvious, big stuff stuck to the carpet during the slower times (like when we were there). I saw a little baby crawling around on the carpet and got a bit squeamish knowing there was a bunch of dirty napkins, toothpicks, and food bits everywhere. My parents even commented that they had never seen the floor so dirty, granted we were there on a major holiday. Highly recommend. read more

We came here for a buffet tonight and especially for their special Friday night's long crab legs buffet. I don't know if the person who prepared the long crab legs fought with their spouse the day before or if the person just purposely trying to make the long crab legs SUPER salty. When I say SUPER salty, I mean it. That level of saltiness can easily give someone a few extra pounds of kidney stones, seriously it's way beyond what a normal human being can handle. We had just a few of their long crab legs, our mouths turned completely dried and we felt like our tongue almost fell off from our mouth. It's horrible. If they intended to limit their customers from having the long crab legs, why not just increase their prices instead of telling their chef to add pounds of salt to the crab legs?? I mean what they currently are charging, ($37.99 per person) is already high enough, especially when their crab legs are super salty and a normal human being can only handle just a few of them. Come on, just increase your price, don't purposely make the crab legs that salty. You are killing your customers and they will never return. Went to the buffet with my grandson to have crablegs they were alright but mostly small. Most of the other items were ok. What really p*ssed me off was the veterans discount one lousy dollar on a $42 buffet! What an insult to veterans some of who are actually combat veterans really shows how they are disrespected by some organizations. I usually give my discount back to the waitresses to show them my appreciation for their service I bet they'd feel like sh*t if that's all they received for good service I actually tipped her alot better than a miserable dollar. read more

I think that Robert's Buffet has upped their game a lot since the reviews listed in 2019, because the food that I tried was superb. Granted, keep this in mind; this is a buffet. You serve yourself so you plate it yourself. But, there is a lot of variety, including Asian (fried rice, lo mein, egg rolls, etc), crab legs, fish and chips, fried shrimp, freshly cut roast beef, fried chicken, soup, salad, etc. The overall quality of the food is very good for a buffet. I have eaten at several of the highly rated buffets in Las Vegas, including the extremely overpriced buffet at Ceaser's Palace, which costs over $100 to eat at. I have to say that the food at Robert's was as good if not better than many of them. If given the choice between eating at Robert's buffet and Ceaser's buffet (say if they were right next door to each other), I would choose Robert's buffet. It is worth the trip to Riverside Casino just to dine there, in my opinion. read more

I'd have to say I had a very pleasant time. I am from Las Vegas. Server was attentive and quite jovial. It's not the Bacchanel at Ceasers Palace so I don't know what all the complainers are talking about, I think its a very nice buffet with a decent selection....seeing as buffets are almost extinct nowadays. Everything was cooked to my satisfaction and I had alot of options for my keto diet. Ambiance was quite pleasing and my neighboring diners were quite informational as well. I had a pleasant time last night gaming and having a few drinks and watching the live entertainment. I will definitely be back since I traverse back and forth so much. It was a very relaxing experience, next time I may check.out the hotel and spa packages. All around, their employees are so warm and welcoming I'd say they are doing things just right and will leave you with a memorable experience. We were just there on 9/23/23 for their dinner buffet. Two stars is being generous. I'm not sure what spices were used in their fried rice but it left a bad taste in both our mouths. The prime rib could not be cut easily with the butter knife they supplied. The lettuce had brown on the edges. I will say the Fried shrimp was ok and the fried chicken was juicy but to advertise that this buffet has a large variety is false advertising as far as we are concerned. Very disappointing. It can be really hit or miss here. I wouldn't advise even trying to eat here if it isn't busy. If it's slow, you can definitely tell the food has been sitting out for a long time. The food, like most buffets doesn't have a whole lot of flavor. It's pretty bland. Deserts are pretty decent, but watch out for the apple crisp or peach cobbler as you can visibly tell that some have been there all day. Usually the fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy are good but sometimes they are a miss too. Some of the food looks like it's been sitting out for a very long time. A bit overpriced especially on the weekdays. Why not lower the price on weekdays, get more people in there, and have a better oration if fresh food.The wait staff have always been nice but not the cashiers or the people who seat you. They generally seem less than enthusiastic take you to your table, and when they do on a weekday, they cram everyone into tables right next to each other, which can feel super awkward as you feel like you are sitting at the table with the people next to you. If it's slow and a weekday, the conversation you'll hear from the tables nearby is generally about the poor quality of food. It's not hot, it's chewy, it's soggy, etc. I once watched the lady at the salad bar using her bare hands to handle food. When I told a manager, they didn't seem to care very much. Boyfriend and I expected a lot more. Food was plated in the buffet attractively but overall the food was bland, over cooked, undercooked, old, or a combination. We both tried different foods offered but left severely disappointed. To add insult to injury, the dining area is somewhat harsh to look at with its tacky carpet (It [the carpet] is something I personally do not ever like to see for sanitary reasons) the ceiling theme with its dark wood accents is the only truly attractive bit about it. They are extremely misleading about the price, it literally posted everywhere that the lunch Buffett is $13.99, but I was charged nearly $26.00 - I don't understand how they would feel this is a good marketing strategy or would attract people to come back on a regular basis and I could only imagine what they actually charge for their dinner buffet when it's post at $18-$21 - the price they charge you must be outrageous. I've been here many times and it's always been up and down. The bad thing was the menu has not changed since they opened. Recently the food has been good, but usually the same choices....however, they just did a major make over which is very nice, and I understand they have a new menu coming out. If you're a crab leg lover, Friday night is all you can eat crab legs and they're normally very good. They do have a nice selection with a Chinese section, an area for specialty dishes like lobster Mac and cheese and salmon on Friday night, and section eithcarved to order meats which vary depending on the night. Friday is brisket and ham, and they have fried chicken and some fried fish selections. They do have an anti pasto section on thevsalad bar with prosciutto and cheeses and salamis which i enjoy and anextensive dessert bar.
