We visited during a very busy time and the restaurant seemed understaffed, so there was a wait for seats. That said, the food was amazing, and the staff handled everything incredibly well. First time coming here for me, but my mom had been here once before. Our waitress was brand new, but knew the menu pretty well. I had ordered the chicken fajitas, but asked that they sub red peppers instead of the green. She said they'd be able to do it. My order ended up coming with no peppers at all. The chicken was also pretty bland, so I had to add plenty of salt and pepper. The chips and salsa were good and I enjoyed the guacamole as well. We also shared a fried ice cream for dessert. Our experience at the Crazy Goat was a delightful surprise, largely thanks to the warm and friendly service of our waitress, Felice. She truly made us feel like cherished guests, while attending to our party of five which included a grandpa, a daughter, and three young grandkids. Within about a minute of sitting down, Felice arrived at our table with a menu, a wheelbarrow full of corn chips, and an overflowing five-gallon bucket of salsa. Yes, this is an exaggeration, but you get the idea. Felice, being a mother of two herself, was incredibly patient with the little ones. She swiftly took our order and then whirled off, leaving us to enjoy our family time. To our surprise, she returned with appetizers and our main courses sooner than expected. The ticket time was about fifteen minutes. My order of fajitas, a delightful combination of chicken and beef strips, arrived at the table piping hot and delicious. The sizzling dish compelled me to don RayBan sunglasses to protect my eyes from the glow. Okay, once again, I may have exaggerated. The little ones enjoyed the kid's menu portions of beef and chicken enchiladas. The three-year-old girl gobbled down a cup or two of guacamole, adroitly dipped out of the bowl and into her mouth with corn chips. She likes "cado" (sic), she says. I don't remember what my daughter ordered, but I remember her comments about how good the food tasted. Her words: Mexican, American Fusion and cuisine, sounded like a compliment to me. No Karens work at the Crazy Goat. Nary a one. Aside from excellent-tasting food, I noticed the employees were happy, smiling, and talking amongst themselves and with the other diners. The friendly, laid back ambiance made our meal more enjoyable. When bartenders and servers are happy in their work, it rubs off on the customers. Went with family for lunch after a demo derby in town. There were 8 of us and we couldn't have had a better experience. The food was amazing. The service was good and fast. The place is newish and nice with lots of seating and a homey comfortable atmosphere. Bathrooms nice and clean. If you're in Riverside, don't hesitate, just go! :) read more

Went there tonight for dinner. Being a local, we've been there many times. As usual, they were busy at 6:30 but they work hard to seat you as fast as they can. I had the Carne Asada and it was awesome. The service was also really good. They really work hard and do a great job. I guess that's why they're usually busy. read more

If you're looking for anew taco Tuesday place...this is where it's at!!!! $1.75 Mexican style tacos, $1.25 ground beef tacos! Their specialty chiva is AMAZING! Chorizo and el pastor are also amazing, not a fan of the carnitas. They serve sides of veggies, squash, zucchini and mushrooms! Nice alternative to rice and beans. Did I mention $5 jumbo margs on tuesdays?!?! Yes, so good! Done is is open, Togo orders also, staff is friendly, service is prompt. You must pay for refills of chips and salsa after your first! Worst dining experience I've had in at least 2 decades. We've been here many times. Helped support them during the pandemic. We go in tonite and I normally drop 40-50 bucks everytime. I love the food. But today was different. The food was still good. But when the server brought me the bill I was told there is a 4% charge for using my card. So essentially charging me another couple of bucks. They got argumentative with me. I was clearly not happy and they made no effort to comp the extra charge. Now I know what your thinking. And no..it absolutely was not posted. Was not informed beforehand. Basically slapped me in the face at the end my meal. This is NOT how you run a business. I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't go back. She needs to close her doors if this how you are going to treat people. UPDATE So the triflin owner called the cops on me. Did not get my order correct. I called to let them know what happened, no apology, blamed my husband and was unwilling to make it right. I hung up the phone, lost my business, but I really don't think they care. When you eat inside the restaurant they bring you chips and salsa, when you get food to go they charge you $4.00 for chips. We enjoy eating at this restaurant a couple of times a month. Fair prices, consistently good food and friendly service. Even though it is a Mexican restaurant the hamburgers are very good too. My grandkids love getting the fried ice cream. read more

While traveling on our way home we decided to stop in at LA Chiva Loka because it close to the highway. Walked in and was told there would be a wait. OK no problem. I asked how long and the girl couldn't tell me. So we said OK. Sat down to wait. Then my husband suggested outside, so I asked the host about going to a table outside. She seemed hesitant at first then said yes. I wanted to make sure it was OK and she still said sure. So out we go. We sit down and immediately got chips and salsa. They were bagged corn chips, the kind you get from the store and Pace Salsa. I know this because I am a chef and from Texas so I know salsa. But we stayed and for over 10 minutes and no one came to get our order. So we left. I only waited that long because they were busy and was trying to be patient. It's where the Icehouse bar used to be. Nice to see something there! Mostly American-style Mexican food, with some American choices like burgers. Beer, wine, mixed drinks available, and the margarita was pretty good. We had a combo plate with 3 different enchiladas (all good), and also chicken fajitas- those were good, too (though stir-fried in a lot of oil). The waitress was so-so (maybe tired?) There was a group at the bar, several small groups, families, and couples eating. It looks like they could accommodate bigger groups and there's a loft, too. Parking right in front.
