Robert is precisely the professional you're looking for when it comes to the otherwise soul-draining business of auto repair. Had my Acura parked on the street when some ding-dong got too close and mangled my side mirror. I called up the local dealer just for the fun of it, and they gave me the predictably astronomical quote for parts and labor. Then I called up Robert, who personally answered and said if I could buy the parts myself, he could perform the labor for a fraction of the dealer's estimate. Ordered OEM parts (upper housing and mirror glass) online and brought them in. Robert inspected the damage and was slightly worried the signal lamp was chipped and might not fit perfectly, but otherwise things looked ok. Got a call back from him a couple hours later: he had figured out a way to fix the signal lamp and fit the assembly together, but at the same time he noticed the motor for the mirror tilt-down was being janky. Not a huge issue, but I appreciated his candor. Went back to pick up the car after another hour, and Robert had some good news. He had a totaled Honda in the shop that had a similar mirror assembly, which he was able to use to successfully replace my faulty motor! Beware!!! This guys will over charge you and waste your time! I have a 63 nova that needed door and suspension work... he gave me a quote and I paid the deposit (half the quote, expecting both to be fixed) it took him twice the time he said it would take (2 1/2 weeks) was only able to fix one of the issues and then charged me for both! The best part, apparently he was playing my radio and left it on, drained the battery completely but of course he took no responsibility for that either. What a great guy! read more
