After my '24 Corolla was smacked pretty hard I wanted to get the damage fixed with out using my insurance as the other driver took off. I called a number of places, and even took it for assesment at a Toyota authorized body shop. All of them asking $2400 plus for repairs. I thought I'd just bit the bullet and let it go. Then I found Dentaway in Koreatown, only 9 blocks from home. I talked Auggie he assessed the damage and estimated a fix for $1248; this would include bumper cover replacement as paint. He ordered the part that day, and with 4 days it arrived. Since it needed to be painted he told me to just keep the car (the damage did not affect the integrity of the car) he would paint it and call me with the next 72 hours, to bring it in for installation. On Thursday even he called me to let me know the bumper was painted and ready to be installed. I dropped it off at 9am on Friday, by 2p the same day he called and told me to come pick my car up. The proof of the excellence of their work is demonstrated in the attached photos. The bumper was perfect. The paint job match was EXACT. I could not have been happier. The atmosphere was pleasant, the shop neat and clean the work, well you only need look at the attached photos to see the level of professionalism and precision that went into this repair. Short version: Body work came out clean, but in the process did over $4,000 worth of electrical damage that made the car unsafe to drive. Denied they did it, but Mazda dealer and a second repair shop both confirmed it. Long version: 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback. I got sideswiped and needed fairly minor bodywork on the fender. On the plus side, the owner worked with my insurance to make sure the cost to me was minimal, and the work came out looking good. After that, I had intermittent electrical problems that disabled the ABS, the stability control, the proximity sensors, and other safety systems. I didn't immediately connect it to the repair work in my mind. I took it to the Mazda dealership, it took them three weeks to track down the issue. It was caused by an electrical harness that had been broken during the bodywork repair. They quoted me $4,160 to replace the harness as it was not repairable, and because the damage was caused by the body shop, it wouldn't be covered by insurance or warranty. I took it back to Dentway. They denied they did it. When I reminded them the car was relatively new and I'd only ever taken it to the dealership for standard yearly service except for this one bodywork repair, they literally tried to claim that cars sometimes come off the assembly line with these kinds of problems. They refused to fix it or look at it. I took it to a third shop and they reconfirmed the issue and the cause. I ultimately opted for a less expensive temporary workaround until I can replace the harness and/or hire a lawyer. So no, I can't recommend this place. read more

Kyung and Augie exhibited the utmost in kindness and service when I took my car in to have a minor crunch in my rear quarter panel replaced. Their estimate was lower than competitors, and they got the work done in half the time that other shops quoted. The work itself was completed swiftly and beautifully, even getting done a day earlier than expected. They communicated with me very well throughout the process, both here on yelp as well as over text message. When my car was done getting fixed, Augie even buffed out some other minor scratches in the paint (unrelated) and gave the car a "facelift" by cleaning and polishing the car for me. My Tesla Model Y 2021 was dented on the rear trunk. I took the car to a few body shops and got multiple quotes. Dentway provides the best overall value. You can see the team working meticulously in the garage. Overall they did a great job; there was no more dent, and they also replaced the light cover and the fixed lower plastic section. Most shops just wanted to replace the entire trunk, which may have taken months to get the part. They were very flexible and allowed me to send pictures via text message to a mobile phone number since I wasn't physically nearby the area for them to examine the car. My passenger side rearview window shattered as I backed out of a narrow garage at (unfortunately) the wrong angle. The next day, I got to Dentway around 8:30am. Augie took a look at it right away and ordered a replacement mirror by phone. I took my car back home, and by 2pm, had a voicemail from Augie, saying that the mirror had come in. Ive never written a review on yelp before. Definitely not my M.O. But I had to show my gratitude to this business for showing me kindness and doing good thorough work. I was in a minor accident a few weeks ago, due to avoiding a drunk driver. The driver drove off, so I figured I'd figure it out eventually. I don't have much money as I am taking care of a dying father in san diego, while trying to lower the burden of bills for my mother in the IE, who recently retired from a 35 yr career as a special needs teacher, who's strapped with student loans. Yesterday, while driving on the freeway, some of my car's undercarriage from the accident began to fall off and was interfering with the car wheel, making it dangerous to drive and very loud. I stopped by Dentway at their closing hour. They didn't hesitate to assess my damages, sorted out how to repair the damage. And to make it better. I had just got a new tire the day before. The tire shop forgot to return my wheel lock, so Dentway could not remove the wheel in order to do the repair correctly. They went out their way to figure out how. They also fixed my side panel light, repaired the front headlight, on top of reinforcing the entire left side of the undercarriage perfectly.
