Professional and detail oriented! The heatwave melted the glue on my back window and it fell in. I called Roberto's to inquire about replacing the soft top on my 2003 Mazda Miata. I sent photos to Raul and he responded very quickly. The price was right and replacement scheduled. A new Robbins (made in USA) top was ordered and carefully installed by his fabulous team! They even fixed the floppy latch!

VERY bad experience. Raul (owner) is rude, and it does not appear he's going to stand behind his work

VERY bad experience. First there was a bait and switch on the price Raul (owner) quoted me. After less than a week the convertible top is coming off on the left back corner. Raul is now giving me pushback about getting it resolved. It seems he's not going to make it right unless TopsOnline.com pays for the cost of redoing it. Though I paid TopsOnline.com directly for the convertible top, at Raul's suggestion, the top was shipped directly to Roberto's Auto Trim from TopsOnline.com (which Raul said is a vendor that he deals with on a regular basis. He even told me you had the owner Vic's "bat phone"). Raul had a full opportunity to inspect/measure this top before installing to ensure a positive outcome. It's obvious proper inspection and measurements were not done. I'm also astonished that he'd released the car to me when the top was either installed incorrectly or manufactured wrong. Not at all what I'd expect from a shop in business for 34 years. Very disappointed. Hoping Raul changes his attitude and makes things right. I'd hate to have to take a day off work and go to Small Claims Court. Positive or negative, I'll update this post when the outcome is finalized. UPDATE AS OF 12-22-2022 Took the car back to Roberto's yesterday and picked it up today. Raul's manner was polite and respectful today. Communication during the repair was good too. It appears okay and I'm hopeful it will stay good. I'll update Yelp again in a month after I take it back for a final tightening of the top after it stretches. I've updated my rating from 1 to 2 stars. It would be higher if I'd not had to battle with Raul for over a month to get him to stand behind his work. Provided it's still good by the end of January, my rating will go up again.

ROBERTO'S did an amazing job on my VW VOLKSWAGON! They redid my headliner, re-upholstered my backseat and flooring carpet. I am very very happy with their work. I highly recommend this business. Valerie handles the office and keeps all phases of the jobs moving along and working well.

Thanks for the quick repair!! Nice people!

I was able to call and get right in in the same day on my lunch break! Thank you for the very quick and efficient quality work.

Rare, worn out, cloth Recaro SE motorized, heated seats prior to being restored.

True to form, I don't add feedback on Yelp until there's a track record of excellence. Roberto's Upholstery was referred to me by a colleague back in '14. Since then Roberto's has successfully taken on and recovered several very difficult jobs. The headliner, sunroof panel and complete restoration of the two motorized Recaro heated seats from cloth upgraded to factory black leather in our 1990 VW Corrado. Roberto's took on the replacement of the convertible top in our 2007 VW Triple White Beetle's convertible top. These car's tops are notorious for having the rear window glass separate from the fabric. Valerie and Raul located an aftermarket company that manufactured Beetle Convertible Tops in original German Sonnendeck (Twillfast) A5 Canvas. This company utilized the new bonding method for the rear glass. The fabric exceeds the factory's with a a six-year replacement warranty as well as a lifetime warranty on the rear glass window. Essentially, the rear window on the top that Raul sourced is bonded into the fabric via the same method VW uses for last generation (2011-2019) Beetle convertible tops. Raul addressed several shortcomings inherent to the original VW convertible top assembly. He took ownership of an aftermarket headliner that was of much lesser quality than the OEM version as well as updating the top assembly to better than new condition. Neither of those challenges were the responsibility or fault of shop, but Roberto's corrected the shortcomings like the Pro's they are. Before receiving our Beetle back, I made three other appointments with him to address unforeseen issues. They involved that headliner issue and correction of unrelated issues involving neglected and overdue maintenance to the convertible frame. The motorized top now opens and closes like a factory new unit. Roberto's was the Preferred Shop for our insurance claim. It's across the street from an Enterprise car rental facility so there was zero inconvenience in dropping the car off. There's frequently factory NEW Aston Martin, Porsche sand MBZ being serviced in this shop. Don't be put off that the shop is raw and seems an unlikely spot to have quarter million dollar exotics in the bays. Roberto's is always busy and sought out by the dealerships to correct issues neglected at the factory. Appointment are a must as they're usually booked solid for at least a week. Roberto's knowledge base is unmatched and the best in my book. Upholstery is a lost art. Roberto's craftsman are masters of their trade at this SoCal gem. There really is no cookie cutter upholstery job because everything has some unrevealed challenge that's unseen until it's taken apart. I've eavesdropped on a Dealership manager directing Raul to correct mistake the factory made. He was asked to swap a manually adjustable seat and its custom leather to a fully automatic seat from another factory new car. The sale of a $200K+ car was dependent on it. There's no espresso or latte bar here, I bring my own. Roberto's follow up, follow through and attention to detail is unmatched, I'm always impressed with each renovation they take on for my family.

My new window to my convertible! Robertos does an excellent job!

In my earlier review on my phone the pictures are in correct order. For some reason on my computer they are backwards. Great job guys!

I was going somewhere else prior and they would keep my car the entire day for a basic oil change. The first time I came after having my car serviced elsewhere and heard an odd sound when I got it back. I asked ExperTec if they could get my car back to me by the end of the day and they weren't sure, however I did get my car back within a few hours. I think they're priced fairly compared to other places in the area. I like that they're open on weekends too. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I'm also super wary of being taken advantage of which happens almost every where I go. I will say they did tell me my car passed their inspection then tried to recommend a bunch of services I'd had done recently. They didn't push me to get them or try to scare me into thinking my car was going to explode if I didn't do the recommended services lol. I've recommended this place to a couple people and they've been happy too so I think they're pretty good overall.

Because of that, I came back for multiple oil changes. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely different. I was charged a high price for what should have been a simple oil change and cabin/air filter replacement, and I ended up waiting about two hours for the work to be completed. After talking it through with someone more familiar with car maintenance, it became clear that I was likely overcharged for a job that should have been quicker and more reasonably priced. What made the experience worse was the interaction before my appointment. When I asked for clarification about being told I may need "air," EU laughed at me for asking. I'm neurodivergent and sometimes take things more literally, so I was just trying to confirm whether I was being charged for something that is often free. Instead of explaining, I felt mocked for asking a simple question. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable or confident returning here. I'm sharing this as a caution for other customers--especially women and neurodivergent people--who may not be as familiar with car maintenance and rely on mechanics to be honest, respectful, and transparent.
