First, let's just get this out the way: their website (as of late 2013) is awful. It's like the internet circa 1997. Bad. But their retail location is large, pretty, with parking at both sides of their building (it's on a corner). The interior cordons off the wallpaper book "library" to the back where staff help consult shoppers like me looking for inspiration. But each time I've been there, it usually takes *several* minutes for someone to help and the staff have been more helpful than not, however English language skills are a lacking for some staff. This was less an attitude problem than a language thing. Anyway, I'm giving this a three star rating which might seem harsh, but that's exactly what I think makes sense: One Of A Kind stocks lots of wallpaper and interior textiles, with books available for research and product available for order, but it's not above-and-beyond.

I had never even heard of this store until my husband googled where to buy a bathroom vanity and this popped up. Whether it's classical art, Asian/Far East art, abstract art you can find a truly beautiful piece of art to bring to your home. This gallery also frames and reframed pictures and art. Earlier this year I brought a version of the last supper which my family has had for decades which the actual last supper was made out of silver and had been brought from Portugal. The original wood frame around it had been severely damaged in the move and I was devastated. I brought it in and they reframed the silver place by putting around it this beautiful espresso wood. It looked even better than the original! Love this place! Wish it wasn't so far away from my new home!

The coolest thing was dried fruit earrings (think dried and glossy dragon fruit and strawberry earrings- now when have you ever seen that?!) I wish I remembered to take a picture of some more of items before I gave them away as gifts! I did buy a pair of astronaut earrings for a friend that loves space. My new favorite anklet is from here and I love it! I recommend stopping here and supporting local artists.

From art prints, jewelry, soaps, t shirts etc. All with the eccentric flair that Wynwood is known for. "Mass Production" is a curse word here. Surprise, surprise. Michael's is doing things right!…read more Cheap prices, plenty of merchandise, and they're super organized! I ordered from them as I had signed up to a Yelp virtual event for calligraphy, and lo and behold, the suggested shopping list had links here. Given that there's one relatively nearby, I placed an order and was told that so long as it was placed before 3 PM, I qualified for curbside pick-up. Ordered around noon and within the hour, I had my supplies. It was easy peasy! They e-mailed and texted me along the way. Once everything was ready, I drove over and called to let them know where I was. The guy who came out with my stuff was super sweet, wearing a mask and gloves. That being said, I think this is only the second time I go to Michael's and they only keep surprising me in a pleasant way. Hope to go inside again soon to browse around. They were open for that that day, but I had things to do, and so, that's why I bothered with curbside pick-up. Until next time!
