If you like art, crafting etc..then this is the store for you. It is located in a very busy mall area on Hialeah, and so I found it hard to park...maybe cos it's located nr Walmart. The store is on two levels, with an elevator in the middle. I did not find what I was looking for, maybe as the whole bottom level was already dedicated to Christmas themes!

It was a much better quality than the usual stores. I had never even heard of this store until my husband googled where to buy a bathroom vanity and this popped up. I was expecting it to be a waste of time like a lot of specialty stores end up being, but this place has a lot to offer for the home and the prices are pretty good. It's filled with pictures and lots of decor for your tables and walls, along with the bathroom furnishings. I will definitely visit again.

It's located in the middle of a strip mall in the middle of Hialeah...last place you would expect you find an art gallery. If you are looking for a good place to buy art/statutes/busts in the area...this is definitely the place to buy it. I have been coming here on and off for years...and have decorated my home with many purchases from this gallery. Whether it's classical art, Asian/Far East art, abstract art you can find a truly beautiful piece of art to bring to your home. This gallery also frames and reframed pictures and art. It is a bit pricey...heck this gallery is pricey but it's worth it. Earlier this year I brought a version of the last supper which my family has had for decades which the actual last supper was made out of silver and had been brought from Portugal. The original wood frame around it had been severely damaged in the move and I was devastated. I brought it in and they reframed the silver place by putting around it this beautiful espresso wood. It looked even better than the original! Love this place! Wish it wasn't so far away from my new home!

I first hit One Of A Kind in search of a special wallpaper. While the design district (despite its…read morename) isn't really the best starting point for most home decorating journeys, I first found their website and I believe it was the closest place to Miami Beach with a decent selection of wallpaper books for review. First, let's just get this out the way: their website (as of late 2013) is awful. It's like the internet circa 1997. Bad. But their retail location is large, pretty, with parking at both sides of their building (it's on a corner). The interior cordons off the wallpaper book "library" to the back where staff help consult shoppers like me looking for inspiration. But each time I've been there, it usually takes *several* minutes for someone to help and the staff have been more helpful than not, however English language skills are a lacking for some staff. This was less an attitude problem than a language thing. Anyway, I'm giving this a three star rating which might seem harsh, but that's exactly what I think makes sense: One Of A Kind stocks lots of wallpaper and interior textiles, with books available for research and product available for order, but it's not above-and-beyond.

For the candle-making, it was a unique experience because everyone got to decorate their candle container, choose a scent AND color for their wax, and then decorate the actual wax too! There were an abundant amount of decor options as well. It was a really artistic and creative candle-making class compared to the general white candle/white container classes, and everyone got to take home a nice product the same day! I participated in the pottery class, and having done pottery classes before, this is truly the best one I've been to yet. Ruben was the most patient and flexible pottery instructor I've met. We had the opportunity to throw 3 pieces of clay, and everyone in our group was able to successfully make 3 full objects. This is mostly because our instructor was able to fix and guide us through most mistakes/issues (holes, breaks, lopsided walls, etc). After throwing the objects on the wheel, we were able to add handles/lids/accessories, add decoration with stamps, or carve/fix our pieces with more carving tools. This was also pretty unique for a pottery wheel class. After the pieces are finished, you can take them home as clay decor, fire them for $2, or glaze them during a separate glazing day for $10. Overall an extremely well run and well-taught art playhouse and we highly recommend it for groups/individuals! Hoping to return soon for their rug tufting class too!
