Constant traffic and sirens all day and night Hotel is obviously dated and old, needs redecorated Room on 10th floor has zero light blocking curtains, just sheer ones Penn station indoor hallway connection is closed on weekends Only has dry cleaning services with a 3rd party, you will have to uber to a laundromat nearby Security is offered below on street level but they are nice older adults who aren't actually going to be able to aid in a real emergency Its a basic hotel, zero frills and nothing at all extra The hotel shuttle they offer isn't close to airport to get to, its kind of a far walk at Newark AirPort

Myeisha at the front desk is such a rude, nasty, invasive human being!…read more After being told over the phone that 12pm would be an earliest I could check-in (due to an early flight), I asked again in person and was met with laughter in my face by Myeisha, followed by her stating "Oh, you thought something changed just because you arrived?! Nothing would be available until after 1pm, so I will call to notify you! ", then she continued to laugh louder. I asked where could store my luggage, Myeisha laughed again and pointed down the escalator to the concierge. I proceeded to the restroom in the attached restaurant to change clothes, and while finishing up Myeisha stalked me and invaded my privacy in the restroom to notify me that a room was finally ready...this was HUMILIATING! The room itself was very subpar! There's a weird water leak repaired crack on the ceiling, and old blood stains splattered on the walls near the window and on the window curtain! Additionally in the room's bathroom, the products are not refilled, there is a crack in the shower tub and the metal shower mechanism is falling apart. See photos! Only good thing about this place is the convenient location and the airport shuttle driver!

Our room was beyond spacious. (See photos) We had city views and a view of the metro. The amenities were above and beyond. The bed was comfortable! I had a quick stay here while in Newark prior to catching an early morning international flight and…read moreI was pretty pleased with the experience. I first checked on rates, then location - since I would be staying here for only 12 hours, I didn't really need much aside from that, safety and basic cleanliness - and it delivered on all of those needs! One sell, was that they have an airport shuttle that runs every 30 minutes making it really easy to get back to the airport whenever you need to. Check in was a breeze and honestly, the room was much more spacious, comfortable and modern than I expected. Overall, for a simple stay this is a pretty solid choice that checks all of the boxes for a quick stay while in Newark!

Stayed at this Hampton Inn expecting the usual Hilton standard, but this was one of the worst…read moreexperiences I've had in over 600 stays. I was denied extra pillows despite explaining it was due to a medical need (something I've never been denied at any Hilton property before). The room's AC unit was extremely loud, constantly turning on and off throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. When I called the front desk, I was told they were at capacity and there was no one available to address it. The most concerning issue was the airport shuttle. It was overbooked by the hotel, and I was actually asked to let another guest sit in my lap during transport. That's not just uncomfortable--it's unsafe and completely unacceptable. When I contacted the hotel manager afterward to request a refund under Hampton's satisfaction guarantee, I was dismissed, told to "get over it," and the call was ended. I've stayed at Hampton Inns for years and have always had good experiences, which made this especially disappointing. Issues can happen anywhere, but the lack of resolution and professionalism here was the bigger problem.

Pros: The hotel itself is pretty good. My first time using digital key and I loved it. The hotel…read moreroom was clean and had a good floor plan. I loved that I could slide a barn door to close in the bedroom if needed. My room was close to elevator and the clean supply room so I was a little worried about outside noise. Although I only stayed over on a Monday night even without ever closing the bedroom door it was very quiet. I had a small issue with somehow dropping my phone down into the ice machine (horror) but maintenance was very responsive and quickly got it back for me. Housekeeping was very friendly. Front desk was ok, although I feel like they could have anticipated or understood my question better when I asked about hotel shuttle. They have a sign stating where the shuttle picks up. I asked about it but they just said that it was coreect, so then I made an an attempt to find the location on the sign. When I got back to the elevator and realized it didnt go down or anywhere that might be a level cars would park or etc. I went back and asked where to find the location. They said it was where the shuttle picked up at the airport. Then is said where does it pick up here. They asked when did I need it. I said now. They said ok they would add me to a list. So #1. Why would someone checking out of the hotel need to know where the airport shuttle picks up passengers at the airport. And even if that is useful information, shouldn't it also inform where or what is needed in order to get picked up at hotel. Specifically this would seem important if the check in line was long. #2 He never answered my question about where the shuttle picks up at hotel. Once i realized the shuttle sign was useless, I assumed it picked up outside the doors and it did but this entire exchange made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. Cons: breakfast had no flavor. I'm not expecting a lot from a free breakfast but usually the flavorless eggs have cheese or something you can add to the top to give it a little something. The vanilla pancake topped with whip cream and strawberries was ok but again very little flavor. Plus not something I could eat had I been on a hurry or had an early flight out. Other Hampton breakfasts do a little better job. Maybe Monday's are just not busy enough to warrant more.

I had a subpar overnight stay here…read more It started off poor from the start. The parking situation is atrocious! Given that it's an airport hotel, I strongly feel there should be valet. There is not nearly enough spots for hotel guests. People had to park their cars where it was clearly parked "no parking" due to the lack of spots available. A valet service would avoid this, especially for those that need long term parking. I also interacted with one unfriendly staff member. She had a terrible attitude and was rude . One staff member later in the day was a lot more friendly and welcoming. The staff also didn't do a single thing about the noise in the lobby (and the pool) late at night. There was a ton of noise around midnight and complaints were made to the front desk, but it still continued. Also, the staff kept the pool open after hours, which guests were also very noisy and staff didn't do anything when complaints were made. The "Starbucks" stopped serving coffee at 1030am one of the mornings I was there. Umm what? I was there for a 2-day event. The bathrooms near the conference rooms kept running out toilet paper. Given the hotel knew about the event, staff should've been actively checking to make sure the bathrooms had the necessities! I am giving 2 stars because my room was decent. I found the bed comfy, and I had a good night sleep and a hot shower. Never again!

The staff was working the line the best they could. We were informed that the key making machine was not working thus the process was slower the usual. The room was basic.
