She will take time to listen to you, give you a good advise and send you to a specialist when needed. She will never try to force you into treatment or procedure even she feels it is desirable. Could it be better? Sure. You can feel the meter clicking. But that is not Dr. Tandetniks fault, but system problem. But so far it is the best PCP I have met.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tandetnik for almost three years and I'm extremely displeased…read more First of all, the office is extremely disorganized and the people who work at the front desk as well as the people who work the desk where payment is made are unhelpful, distant and at times, very rude. When making a call, I expect to be put on hold for at least 5 minutes and the receptionists never fail to sound hurried, hassled and the tone of voice that says "why the hell are you bothering me". As far as Dr. Tandetnik is concerned, I am unhappy because of her inability to listen to me and realize that I know my own body very well. Approximately 18 months ago, I had blood tests that showed differentials between my numbers and the acceptable numbers. These dealt with the thyroid and kidneys. I was told not to worry and that it really did not mean anything and that in order for me to understand I would have to know something about each of the other tests within the blood work. Dr. T put me on meds (generic) and I stayed on those meds for approximately 15 months. During that time my levels remained the same and so it was obvious that the medication was not working. I requested that she give me the brand name medication and also asked to be referred to an endocronologist for either a cat scan or MRI of the thyroid. She told me that it wasn't necessary. Meanwhile, my thyroid levels were to out of whack that I was told that for all intent and purpose, my thyroid was basically not working. I finally told her that if she did not give me the referral then I would find another doctor. I was referred to an endocronologist who put me on the brand name medication and sent me for a CT scan of the Thyroid. As it turned out, I had a node on my thyroid. I then had a biopsy and thankfully it was negative. My thyroid is now normal due to the correct medication and my new doc has scheduled me for another biopsy in six months. As if that was not enough, at the time that I had the blood tests I just spoke of, there was a differential in the kidney analysis. She said it was nothing. I insisted on seeing a nephrologist and bottom line...I have IGA Nephropathy. Had I listened to Dr. T and not acted as my own advocate, who knows what might have happened. She has been good and efficient about refilling prescriptions and follows up with phone calls when she receives a message. Where I have experienced a problem is in receiving the results of tests in an efficient manner. I most often have to call and even then it can take another week or so. In short, I would not recommend Dr. T nor would I necessarily recommend the practice though I have not seen any of the other docs.

I have been a patient of Dt Starr's for years. I have followed him from the practice he started at…read morethe Faulkner hospital until he started Personalized Medical Care. I cannot say enough about the man and his practice. Doc is an "old school" Doc, if he suspects an issue, he gets tests done, if he thinks you need a procedure, he sends you for it, he runs the care for his patients, not some insurance company. He is always available and gets back right back to you. Brian the office manager, is on top of EVERY aspect of someone's care and runs the practice very well. Very glad I followed Doc to his new practice.

We…read morehad a pleasant enough discussion, and when I called back to make a first appointment, I was 1) first given an appointment, 2) then called the next day to be told she was "full" and didn't have any openings but would call me back with other referrals, 3) then when I followed up, was told that in fact she was choosing not to take me on because she didn't feel she had rapport with me- from a 20-min nerve-wracking meeting. Unprofessional all around. Ultimately I'm glad I'm not going to be a patient of Dr. McCowan because her behavior in this non-clinical situation speaks poorly to what the experience of being her patient would be like. EDIT: After I published my review on Google, the practice manager responded by describing it as "slander." That is not only very unprofessional , but it is also FALSE. In order for something to be slanderous, it must be not true. I would ask for them to specify what was misrepresented or be more careful about the verbiage they use.

He…read morealways takes his time and had gotten to know me well enough to make sure the rest of my life is in balance. I'm more interested in natural/holistic medicine. Not only does he respect that, but he makes suggestions to me (like acupuncture) when he thinks it would suit me better. If I have to take prescription medication, he always takes the time to explain how it works to me so that I don't feel nervous about it. I can't imagine ever switching doctors.

As a former patient of Dr. Coffey, I was disappointed with his service. On the day I showed up for…read moremy appointment, he assigned an intern to conduct my check-up while he merely observed the intern, without giving me any advance notice of this. Because the intern was relatively new to this process, it prolonged my appointment beyond the time originally allotted for it, to the extent that I was late for a subsequent appointment. Furthermore, Dr. Coffey clicked the wrong box to indicate where my blood samples were to be delivered, so he asked me to come in again to have more blood samples taken. I never went back to him -- which I ultimately couldn't do anyway, because he was transferred to Saugus, making it impossible for me to see him anymore without a car to get out there. In short, Dr. Coffey succeeded in medical education and expertise but fell short on the technical details necessary to conduct an appointment properly and respectfully. And the transferring of doctors from neighborhood to neighborhood does not allow patients to develop long-term relationships with their doctors when the doctors are no longer accessible. I would therefore not give Dr. Coffey my highest recommendation.
