I've been trying for over three weeks to get a refund for a claim that was already paid by my insurance, and I still haven't received any update or refund. I've called multiple times and have repeatedly been told that the office manager is "not available," with no follow-up call or email despite being told Cathy, the office manager would get back to me. Each time I call to ask for an update, the front desk staff sound annoyed and are often rude and condescending, as if it's unreasonable to ask about a refund that has been pending for weeks. Instead of providing help or clear information, there's always another excuse for why the manager can't speak with me. Very disappointing customer service and lack of communication. read more

Dr. Lazarou has treated my father over the last six months for issues following his stroke. Dr. Lazarou is knowledgable and very patient. Dr. Lazarou and his entire support staff have provided the highest quality of care in both routine and emergent situations. The issue that my father was having required specialized laser treatment. Dr. Lazarou quickly diagnosed and referred him to the appropriate specialist in a very timely manner. Our experience with the office staff has never been anything but positive. In regard to Lazarou Urology Associates, 65 Walnut St #460, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 Couldn't agree more with @Joe D on the previous yelp review. The doctors administrative support staff is absolutely terrible! As you can tell I'm not much of a reviewer on here, but on the rare occasion I believe it's important to communicate out exceptional service as well as service that needs improvement. I was seen for an ultrasound as my wife and I are going through IVF. We had experienced a failed IVF attempt so needless to say I was anxiously awaiting the results of my ultrasound. Seemingly pretty simple right. The procedure itself was in and out. However receiving my results became quite the challenge. After 3-4 business days of waiting I called in to inquire on my results and was informed the doctor would call. After waiting another 1-2 days I called in again and was informed the doctor hadn't looked at my file. After waiting yet another 1-2 days I finally received a voicemail with my test results with instructions to call back to discuss next steps if I wanted to.... As I'm writing this it's been 10 days since my ultrasound and I have still yet to discuss my results or next steps, nor have I received any formal documentation on my results outside of that voicemail. So, I called in this morning to request documentation to be sent regarding my diagnosis via patient portal or mail, I must have been asking for too much as it was mentioned that I may not understand the results.... I arrived at 1 star because I will most likely avoid this doctor going forward solely because of his staff. Unfortunate, yes, but it's simply not worth it to me. read more

I had a terrible customer service experience with this provider. The medical care seemed ok even though my procedure went very wrong. It was the office staff. First they were 45 minutes late for my appointment, then they harassed me about a previous invoice that I had not seen yet. Due to that I then asked how much my procedure would be. They would not tell me till I told them I would not proceed until I knew. They finally told me $600 and billed me $1370. I tried to dispute the bill. They would not call me back, then when I talked to Laura the office manager, she said she would look into it and call back. Instead they sent me to collections. I then went to the office to professionally discuss my dispute of the bill, and after reviewing my account Laura declined any resolution. When I told her I was upset, she told me to leave. When I told her I was not satisfied, she threatened to call the police... Really??? Terrible customer service, with little regard for the patient. Also I asked to talk to the Doctor and was never allowed the opportunity. do not use! read more

I was referred by my primary care to Dr. Lazarou about a year ago. He recommended a procedure to treat my condition and performed it four months ago. It took couple of months before I felt a relief. I had a follow up earlier this week and as always the doctor was kind and attentive. Most importantly the treatment has been efficient. But the whole experience with this doctor's office was also pleasant. Even though there were a few patients at the same time, it took only thirty minutes for check-in, two tests, meeting with the doctor without rush and check-out. The Dr. himself is good... knowledgable, patient, calming. Everything else about his support staff is not. After complications with my procedure, I made a couple calls to ask questions, and his assistant didn't seem to know much at all, as when I made further appointments to see the Dr., the assistant's advice both times contradicted the Dr. After one of the follow up visits to be seen for the complication, I was prescribed pain medication, however as I am writing this over 24 hours later, and 5 phone calls later, the prescription has STILL NOT YET arrived at my pharmacy. When I then tried to reach the Dr. on call since the office was closed, I hit the button to do and after 10 minutes of silence, I hung up. I shudder to think what would have happened if I actually had a real emergency. I'll likely have to wait until at least tomorrow morning for the medication I need. read more

This is a review for a group of doctors that worked flawlessly together. When I chose to pursue IVF in my 40's I researched and chose Fertility Centers of New England and was set up with Beth Plante, MD. We did my initial blood and ultrasound scans which she found a cyst on my ovary that looked questionable, so we did an MRI to make sure. I was cleared at that time to start the procedure of IVF. The next step was to first do a retrieval from my husband who had a vasectomy years ago (this is our second marriage) , so Dr Plante referred us to Stephen Lazarou MD in Wellesley. Because of a car accident we were in, it took a several months after our consultation with Dr Lazarou to schedule the procedure. The day we arrived at the surgery center for the procedure my husband got some cold feet about potential side effects. Dr. Lazarou immediately put on the pause and gave my husband the needed space to process his emotions and we decided to postpone the surgery to another day. At no time did he or I feel as if we were pressured, or that Dr Lazarou was irritated by the situation, in fact was able to comfort both of us. Many times if things go not as planned it is easy to see frustration and there was none. That procedure went flawlessly and my husband was off work for about 3 days (Th to Tuesday). By the time life had space for my part of IVF to start it had been a year after my MRI so Dr Plante wanted me to get another look at this cyst that I had had for more than a year now, because it was more significant and she couldn't clear me with the ultrasound images. The MRI showed a few cysts and the one in question she still had concerns (I have had cysts many times including one that twisted my ovary causing me to lose one ovary) so she referred me to Dr Antonio Rosario Gargiulo, MD at Brigham and Women's reproductive surgery. She wanted to make sure that this cyst was not something from an oncology perspective was a game changer. Also to get second opinion that it would not cause a problem if we went through with IVF and I became pregnant causing a problem then. Warm, smiling Dr Gargiulo sat with me with my actual MRI images to show me what was what and which cysts were fluid filled and then the difference with this one other one's characteristics of concern. I know what you are thinking, as I was, it would be recommended for me to excise this before anything could be done (by now I was 42 so a bit in a rush for my ovary exfoliation and get on with the show).But he said "I don't want to touch this unless you already have a baby at home." He said when you cut the ovary, you take away useful tissue and though he agreed that it was a cyst that could shift and to continue to watch, he cleared me to go ahead with IVF knowing in the future to watch the potential for problems. I skipped out of there, not just with my good news, but that with the time spent and explaining all reason behind in a not talked at or down to way I trusted this man. The following month we proceeded, tweaked by 10 days due to my blood work as Dr. Plante wanted my starting hormones to be ideal before starting injections. I took progesterone first. Although anxious I put myself in the knowledge and experience matrix of Dr Plante and her team. The first week on stimulants I had lots of pain in my ovary which I thought was normal, but I wondered how I was going to make it through the two week progressive ramp up if this was how it started... At one of my early AM ultrasounds to count follicles the ultrasound tech was excited to tell me that I didn't have the crazy cyst anymore. So the rupturing cyst was what the pain was and I was rid of it. The rest of my cycle and retrieval went on without incident. I was planning on doing this review before I found out what my results post embryo transfer were because with either outcome I knew I had the best of the best with my hail Mary attempt. As it turns out, I was one of the lucky ones who was successful on the first attempt. I am so very grateful. During this unexpectedly postponed time of our IVF journey, Dr Plante communicated the reasonable expectations but hope and possibility was felt in her experience and knowledge as well as her way of being, so I marched on. There are competent knowledgeable doctors in many specialties out there, but I 100% recommend Dr. Plante, Fertility Centers of New England, Dr Lazarou, and Dr Gargiulo! As emotionally charged as this type of practice is they are to be chosen and trusted!! read more
