Staff are rude and condescending. Wait times very long, and communication is sorely lacking.

I called to schedule a first pregnancy appointment with Dr. Okamura…read more The office staff informed me that she likes to review new patient requests herself, and decide based on her schedule and patient information whether to take on the patient. They sent her an email with my information, and told me to expect a response the next day. I never received a response. I called every day for a week asking for an update, and every day the answer was that she hasn't gotten around to her email yet. Eventually, I called another practice that scheduled me *on the spot* for an 8 week ultrasound the following week, and an 11 week in office visit with an award winning highly regarded doctor.

When I scheduled a appointment, it was postponed to another day without anyone telling me about it. The second time I came for an appointment, but they told me that my visit was not on that day, but on some other day 2 weeks later, although the letter from them indicated the time and date of the day when I came to them and no I never received any other letter.Nobody wants to solve the problem, the staff turns around and leaves. Terrible management. I waited in pain for 2 weeks, but today my appointment was rescheduled again. Managers don't send reminders. How important it is for a woman to solve her pain problem in a short time, and not wait 2 weeks and it's not a fact that you'll see a doctor. They will schedule an appointment for you and you will never know until they call you and tell you that you missed your appointment. Complete mess.

Fifth, she is a marathon runner! How cool is that! She is so good that I am considering flying back to boston for my annual checkups when I move away. Seriously. See her!

I was previously going to an OB in Brookline through B&W and I will have to say I prefer NW OBG/YN over B&W. NW OB/GYN's office is so much more inviting and relaxed and the staff here is really awesome. The wait can be long sometimes due to all of a sudden births but the staff keeps you updated and lets you know right away if there is a problem. Dr. Davis is a great doctor as well, when I first met her we went over my pregnancy, any questions I had and gave me great advice to my situation that I had. Appointments here are easy to get and the service is just great, even the nurses and the medical assistant's are wonderful as well. My previous office was so cold and uninviting that I am glad I changed and will stay at NW OB/GYN as long as I can!

However, I didn't…read moreimagine being single in my late 30's...so after almost 2 years of going back and forth with myself, I finally decided to give my future-self the best chance at having a biological child and I started the process to freeze my eggs. Fertility is personal and emotional and scary but choosing the right doctor makes ALL the difference. The best decision I made was choosing Dr. Jan Shifren at Newton Wellesley Hospital. At my initial assessment, Dr. Shifren walked me through every single step of the process and answered all the questions I could come up with. It only takes a quick google search to learn she's internationally recognized as one of the top physicians in her field of expertise and she's been published in more journals than I could count. What a google search doesn't tell you is how truly wonderful she is as a person. Dr. Shifren is so thoughtful, knowledgeable, transparent, upfront and honest. I never felt rushed at our appointments (virtual and in-person) and Dr. Shifren was by my side, from start to finish. She has a truly incredible team of nurses, technicians and administrators who keep you feeling positive throughout the journey and take great care of you at each appointment. After meeting with Dr. Shifren, I worked with her billing department to understand all the financial costs associated with the procedure and they gave me a very easy to understand price breakdown. A few months after our initial appointment it was March of 2022, and I was ready to go. At that time I started working very closely with Zuzana, her incredible nurse who was by my side for the next 2 weeks walking me through the process. Zuzana and her colleagues were very quick to respond to my emails with questions or concerns and always had all the answers right away. Once the process begins, you are going into their office at NWH anywhere from 2-4 times a week for blood draws and ultrasounds. All the ultrasound technicians are great and be sure to get your blood drawn by Grace, she will make your day every time you see her. I felt really taken care of on an emotional and physical level which is what you want and what you need to get through this process. My patient experience could not have been any better and I would highly recommend choosing Dr. Shifren and her team at NWH if you are looking into freezing your eggs. -Melissa

I saw Dr. Sakamuri for some irregular bleeding, she suggested I go back on birth control to stop…read morethe bleeding. when I told her I was not willing to because the side effects were too severe in the past, she was super rude and judgmental and said I "might as well be on prenatal vitamins" even though she knew I had no intention of getting pregnant. Perhaps there isn't another known solution for my irregular bleeding, but it's unacceptable to shame a patient like that. Like any drug, Birth control has side effects and women deserve to know the full truth so they can make educated choices on their own. Not be shamed or scared by their health care providers without proper information. Perhaps Sakamuri only cares to prescribe medications so she can cut herself a check. It's truly sad that myself and other women have to face this type of judgement in a space that is supposed to be safe for everyone to make informed decisions about their own bodies.

She put my mind at ease many times and despite having a busy practice, she always listened to and carefully answered all of my questions. She takes the time to get to know her patients and I have always felt that she genuinely has my best interest in mind. I appreciate her rational, practical, and common sense approach. However, she's serious and ultra-cautious when it comes to looking after her patients. At the end of both pregnancies, my blood pressure was high and she was very firm and clear about how serious it was. She had me come back in to see her every other day until I delivered to make sure the baby and I were okay. I have been so insistent on having Dr. Mann as my doctor that I kept driving all the way to Cambridge for my second pregnancy, even though we had moved 30 minutes away. Just recently, she moved her office to Brookline and I am driving even further because I trust her implicitly and can't imagine going to another ob/gyn!

They gave me a diagnosis within 4 hours and next steps despite not having a radiologist to read my results present (they outsourced). You'll notice people in the reviews will say you might be placed in the hallway, which was the case for me, but you will see that in every hospital. The ER is always overbooked and understaffed everywhere. Over the course of the night the staff regularly checked in on me, ran all of the necessary tests, and prepped me adequately for emergency surgery the next morning. The staff was truly exceptional, the surgical teams are incredible here. My surgery went flawlessly and they also did a great job with post-op follow ups, calling me promptly and scheduling my 2-week post op check in ASAP. During my surgery, they kept my contacts in the loop throughout the process. I thank everyone who helped me here at Newton-Wellesley and highly recommend choosing this hospital.

Or just a couple miles from the pike. Limited parking at the entrance for handicap and some charging spots. Usually those are taken so you have to go to the lower parking spot and walk up a ton of stairs. There's also the option to valet which is $12 or only $4 if you have a handicap placard. To get to the lab/imaging location, when entering turn right after the check-in station, then go straight to the end of the hall and then left. You'll see a wooden desk on your right to check in. There's a small waiting room there, but also a larger room across the hall. They're not a lot of phlebotomy stalls, but they move pretty quickly. Staff are friendly and efficient. This is a good option for getting labs vs driving into Boston.
