I have been to Newton-Wellesley a few times and have had a great experience every time. I was…read morerecently rushed to the ER here with appendicitis (yuck!), and the ER overnight staff did a great job caring for me. They gave me a diagnosis within 4 hours and next steps despite not having a radiologist to read my results present (they outsourced). You'll notice people in the reviews will say you might be placed in the hallway, which was the case for me, but you will see that in every hospital. The ER is always overbooked and understaffed everywhere. Over the course of the night the staff regularly checked in on me, ran all of the necessary tests, and prepped me adequately for emergency surgery the next morning. The staff was truly exceptional, the surgical teams are incredible here. My surgery went flawlessly and they also did a great job with post-op follow ups, calling me promptly and scheduling my 2-week post op check in ASAP. During my surgery, they kept my contacts in the loop throughout the process. I thank everyone who helped me here at Newton-Wellesley and highly recommend choosing this hospital.

Or just a couple miles from the pike. Limited parking at the entrance for handicap and some charging spots. Usually those are taken so you have to go to the lower parking spot and walk up a ton of stairs. There's also the option to valet which is $12 or only $4 if you have a handicap placard. To get to the lab/imaging location, when entering turn right after the check-in station, then go straight to the end of the hall and then left. You'll see a wooden desk on your right to check in. There's a small waiting room there, but also a larger room across the hall. They're not a lot of phlebotomy stalls, but they move pretty quickly. Staff are friendly and efficient. This is a good option for getting labs vs driving into Boston.

I went through chemotherapy in December of 2024, and the most complicated part of that was storing my sperm before that. I work in customer service myself, and this company provides the worst customer service imaginable. Neither location (lab or offices) can help you with anything. The employees at the lab are rude, short, and not helpful. If there was any other company I could have used, I would have taken that opportunity. This place is the literal worst, I am so sorry if anyone else has to use them.

A PDF with personal stories from NECC clients is here: https://donorsiblingregistry.com/sites/default/files/NECC_3.pdf I'm updating my review with this information, because gambling with people's lives is much more important than the fact that the NECC representative was rude and unhelpful towards me, on the phone. (For more info, see Katy M.'s filtered review from 3/22/2009.) My customer experience follows: ============================================ The woman who answered the phone was quite impatient. I inquired about rates for storing sperm (cost for one year, multiple years). At first she said there was only one option. I asked a few more questions about their facility, then asked her again. This time, she rattled off a series of options. I had to ask her multiple times to slow down so I could write it down, and she got more annoyed each time. (This information was NOT available anywhere on their website at the time I called: I checked the site map and the confusing, jardon-laden "price list".) She hurried through the call. I did not get all my questions answered. It was just not a pleasant encounter at all. I have no desire to pursue a business arrangement with these people, especially not over something so important.

Marilyn Chown, Founder…read moreand Owner of Enhanced Wellness Care was rude, insulting, negated my concerns and gave me incorrect medical information. My husband is in the hospital with hyponatremia. His sodium level is low and it was continuing to drop. At the time of our call, it was at 120.  Once it drops below 120 it is considered severe and can result in brain damage and death.  The concern for my husband was of a serious and urgent nature.   Marilyn negated my concerns and told me low sodium was "no big deal". She told me "if people have too much water in their body that they would urinate it out".  She told me "no one has ever died from having too much water in their system".  All three statements are incorrect. Because I received this misinformation, I asked if she was a medical professional. I did not know at the time what her role was and thought maybe she was an administrative professional gathering information for Dr. Costa to call me back. Marilyn became very angry. She said she was a medical professional and listed her credentials and then asked if I was a medical professional, which I am not but I do understand the severity of my husband's condition and that was the reason for my call. She proceeded to tell me that I had no idea what I was talking about. She said that I was not an appropriate candidate for Dr. Costa and that their office would not want to work with "someone like me".  Marilyn was rude and insulting. She provided incorrect information and dismissed the seriousness of my concern. No one deserves to be treated with disrespect, especially someone who is looking to engage services.
