In fact, when I lived away from Cincinnati for 5 years I never got a new dentist in the town I was living in. I would just schedule my appointments for when I was back visiting in Cincinnati. He attends dental conferences every year and I am very impressed with his desire to stay current by continuing to learn what is new in the field of dentistry. He will not sell you on things you don't need and you can be sure that is he is offering a type of procedure in his office it has been researched to the fullest extent. Doc is personable, professional and a good person. We recently received a post card in the mail about a food drive his office was spearheading and I thought that was quite nice. Make the drive to Bridgetown! It is worth it.

He is truly invested in his patients and I am in awe of his responsiveness during the off business times (such as weekends) for patients with dental emergencies. His advice for difficult dental decisions has the patient interest as the topmost priority. I have never met a doctor more caring and knowledgeable and more ethical than him. His staff is sweet and personable. Although l haven't been the best patient (been late a few times and for sure might've unintentionally missed an appointment or two in the last decade, and no I do not recommend you do that!!!) his office treated me with grace and kindness and always found a way to fit me into their schedule. He and his staff took plenty of time to discuss what was going on and fully explained the treatment options. He was very open with these option and even with costs. He even recommended waiting for an upcoming insurance change for some needed minor work as it would save me money. During my procedure, he and his staff were attentive to any needs I had and checked frequently to make sure I wasn't having discomfort (I didn't have any pain, he does a great block). He also explained each step along the way. No one 'loves' going to the dentist, but my experience with Dr. Franz and his office have been the best I have had with any dentist. I appreciated that there were pictures on his website which allowed me to see that the entrance is very handicapped friendly, as this is a must for me. The doctor himself seemed very competent and friendly. After my cleaning I was not asked for money upfront. That might be because the person who usually takes payments was not there. I was shocked when I got the bill and discovered that it was over $300 AFTER Humana had paid their portion. For just a cleaning and bite wing x-rays?! But, OK, I don't generally have a lot of problems with my teeth, so I was just planning on asking to go in less often - every nine months instead of six for cleanings. Recently I was having some pain (not sure if it's sinusitis or tooth problem) so I called the office to attempt to get an appointment. I called three times a day for two days straight and only to discover that apparently they are not answering the phone anymore. I'd get a recording asking me to leave a message and they would call me back. I did that. Never got a call back. This doesn't seem like a very efficient or caring way to run a business. When I started searching for another dentist I discovered that I cannot use my Humana Insurance there anymore. Altogether not a great experience!
