Dr. Kelsey was a fine doctor. I saw him one time when I first moved to the city and he came highly recommended. He took his time with a thorough history and physical and I thought I had found a great doctor. His staff at Chicago Women's Health group, on the other hand, was nothing short of bewilderingly rude. At best, unfriendly (hi front desk staff), and at worst, unprofessional, incompetent, and openly hostile (office manager Mary Keane). I would never return to that clinic and felt obligated to post this review to share my horrible experience. Dr. Kelsey recommended an (unbeknownst to me) expensive and uncovered vaccination based on my family history. After receiving the first of three doses, I was surprised by a hefty bill from my insurance. After months of trying to get a human at Dr. Kelsey's to return my phone calls and emails begging for a letter of necessity to offset the cost of this bill, I was basically told "No. Either pay it or let it go to collections, I don't care." I was truly shocked by the level of indifference. It's what I would expect from a cable company, not the primary representative of a women's health practice. Avoid this place, and remember, you may see the doctor a couple times a year, but you'll be dealing with his or her staff many times in between. read more
