Professional and competent. Saw him in 2021. The staff was great, and Dr. Wu helped me survive cancer.

He even gave me his cell phone number to contact him over the Christmas week if I had issues. Thankfully, I did not need to contact him. It was a bummer to learn of his retirement - great for him, but a bummer for his patients. I wish him well.

Said it was beyond his scope and gave a referral, to which he just gave a phone number and we called and the soonest appointment was 2.5 months out. They put up a front of empathy, but then they bill as much as they possibly can for services for no help done. They force you to come into office to read results, then bill you for that office visit even when I was there for less than 2min. Seriously do not go here. Would give negative stars if I could based on their customer experience and how they handled the outro after asking them about why the bill is structured this way when no treatment was given. Their answer was that your insurance accepted the office visit so you should deal with them, otherwise they will take it to collections. Was blown away with the lack of integrity. A doctor is nothing without his/her integrity.

So, I guess these are the kind of exciting, chock-a-block-filled-with-action-and-debauchery reviews…read moreI'm going to be writing now that I'm mothering a newborn? So be it. We were referred to Dr. Wesman for a tongue-tie consultation at the recommendation of Georgeanne Walker, the awesome lactation consultant for Primary Pediatrics Group (really, she's fabulous). His staff at the Oakland Children's Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center (a very cool building in itself) was super friendly on the phone, and was able to accommodate us the same day - which is huge when your 8-day old infant is having a difficult time latching onto your boob to get his meals 10+ times a day. Dr. Wesman himself was nothing but cordial and professional - the man has clipped thousands of infant tongue-frenulums, so his skills in that department never came into question. He made a quick assessment of Sir Poops-A-Lot's tongue, gave us an honest opinion about the efficacy of the procedure, and allowed us to decide if we wanted to go ahead and see if the clipping would make things easier for Miles (Sir Poops-A-Lot) in the eating department. Dr. Wesman even asked if "mom" (holy shit, that's me - I have to get used to being called that) wanted to leave the room during the procedure. I did. And I still cried anyway. But guess what? Sir Poops-A-Lot eats like a champ now. This kid could be the next competitive eating machine. Watch your back, Joey Chestnut.

Another doctor had already recommended eartubes and I went to Dr. Wesman for a 2nd opinion. He was correct, when we went for a followup 3 months later the problem had cleared and no tubes were necessary. His style is a bit clinical but if you don't need warm fuzzy, he is very competent and experienced.

Check in: they make you call from your car because of COVID 19. No big deal right? Well I called when I arrived 15 minutes prior as requested. I then proceeded to sit in my car for 45 minutes with no contact or communication from them. I finally called them again and waited another 10 minutes after that before I was called. Actual Appointment: went in and they did a standard check in. When the doctor finally came in almost 45 minutes late, she first sat 6 ft away from me and asked why I came in. She then proceeded to cut me off and tell me I needed to fix my mask on my face. Please note that my mask was on all the way, but because I had a homemade sewn mask, it did not stuck perfectly to my face to create a full seal around my cheek and nose area. So after spending some time adjust my mask to her liking, she then finally came close enough to me to actually do an exam. I went in for an ear issue so she checked my ears first. When I told her I felt congestion in my ears, she said well normally I would check your throat and nose but I don't want to do that because of COVID. Now I'm confused. I went to see an ENT and she doesn't want to check me nose and throat. I understand the risk of COVID, but she is a doctor and I'm here for an appointment after jumping through several hoops to prove I am not sick and waiting a long time in my car! We are now about 15 minutes in to the appointment. She can't see anything in my ears so she says "go next door and get an audiology test". She tells me I should take allergy meds. I told her I've done that. She then offers to inject me with a steroid. I said no thanks. I don't think just taking a look in my ear and telling me "I don't see what's wrong" warrants the offer of a steroid injection. She gives me a card to the lady next door for a hearing test and tell me I can promptly leave out the other door. No bill, no follow up, just go get a hearing test. Here's where it gets great. My bill comes in $230!!!! For what exactly? I'm not sure. Poor bedside manner, being late, mask shaming me and not doing a SINGLE THING to help my symptoms. She didn't even bother to give me a full exam. If your comfortable going to a doctor who is too afraid to properly practice her trade and then over charge you then this is your lady. Otherwise, I would recommend doing a better job vetting an ENT than I did. Bottom Line: she seemed more afraid of me than willing to help me. She was late, tactless about the mask and seemed more interested in getting me out of there as quickly as possible than anything else. If I had been given a bill on the spot, I would have fought it. I guess we all live and learn.
