On Thursday, within 30 minutes of applying online, I got a call from Office Team and they scheduled an interview with me for the next day. The day after the interview I had an interview with a potential employer, and the following Wednesday I started my new job. Urvashi Kumar and Nicole Sher, from the OfficeTeam's Healthcare Group, were amazing. Nicole interviewed me and really took the time to get to know me: she took the time to understand what I was looking for, and took even more time to learn about the the skills I had to offer. She was an amazing advocate, and it really felt like she was fighting for me. Apparently she was, because I had a job before I knew it. In the process I didn't have as much contact with Urvashi, but I do believe she had a big hand in all of it and deserves much of the credit. I didn't work with Derrick much but I felt he was a fantastic guy and recruiter the few times we interacted. He listened and did his best for me. I didn't go on many interviews thru him but it was part my fault because I was too busy myself to keep in contact. Unlike Premier and Appleone, this is one big firm I did like. I reached out to a recruiter at The Creative Group as I saw they specialized in UX positions. I stated clear in my email that I was looking for UX Research positions. She then responded and said she had several UX positions but none were Research related, fine. She then calls me around 6:30 pm on a random weekday and leaves a voicemail saying that she had some positions that would interest me and that I should come down to the office and meet with her, what a bad decision. She had already looked at my portfolio and resume prior to our meeting and was asking the same old bs what do you like about UX and Research and what makes you blah blah blah. Long story short she says "Unfortunately at this time I don't have any positions that would be a fit for what you are looking for but you know what you are talking about and hopefully something comes up for you". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You clearly called me in to make yourself look busy and to waste my time. The funny part is she said to look "spiffy", what a joke. ... read more

I first used Accountemps in 2012 after I had finished the CPA exams and moved to California. I got a couple of assignments at start-ups which was pretty cool, and eventually a different agency got me a permanent position. Fast forward to 2015, I had taken a hiatus from accounting and had been traveling, volunteering, and organic farming for a little over a year. When employed and in school, I was getting jealous of everyone traveling the world rather than heading straight to more school or employment so I decided to get this out of the way while I'm still young. Accountemps had me go to a few lengthy interviews for temp positions that did not come to fruition for different reasons such as the company changed their mind or decided to go in a different direction for the position (or maybe I just suck?). It 's a bummer because I spent a lot of time preparing, commuting, and interviewing for all these. I'm assuming those were the real reasons that I was told. If not, I'd appreciate some real feedback so I can fix what I'm doing wrong and improve. Despite that, Phil has been really cool and friendly. Holly is nice, too. I was talking to Sean P. about my salary requirements because I have basically 2 years of experience and at the very least well over a year of extremely solid general accounting experience. He told me my range was a bit high, but I was going by Robert Half's salary guide for 2015 for San Francisco + I have a masters degree. I don't even consider the fact that I have passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam because I am missing my hours. Not only that, I was staying on the conservative side. Anyway, I am currently on an assignment. It was new and fun at first. I don't know if I want to stay even though it would be a secure, stable job with great benefits, but I'm crazy so I'm not just trying to get any job. I'm trying to find a position that aligns with my values and goals. I would say my experience has been pretty good. We will see how this continues. Hopefully, this will become excellent. read more

I was called for an interview about an opportunity for a job that needed to be filled in as soon as possible so I rushed to the office for an interview with Office Team got feedback for my resume that needed specific corrections to be made to send back to the client as soon as I got back I looked at the information on my resume that needed to be corrected and sent it back, It could have been no more than thirty minutes that I took to send the corrections that I was told to make, I called the following Monday and my contact was not there, two weeks after I was able to find her and told me a completely different set of corrections had to be made to make my resume client specific and so I lost that chance, Dont waste your time with these guys read more

I have to say my experience could not have been any different than the previous reviewers. I found RHT to be professional and more than helpful in doing what I needed, namely helping get me connected with good jobs and assignments in my field, ultimately helping me a land a great paying job doing the kind of work I'm qualified for. I work in the tech industry doing end-user support and system administration and David Vo and his team were great. First, he called me right away after I submitted my vitals to their online system. Shortly after that we met face to face and he took time to find out what I was looking for, the type of work I do and the kinds of companies I wanted to work with. Shortly after that, he and his team set about finding a placement for me and while there were a few false starts, companies that weren't a good fit or who didn't fit criteria I defined (like being within the SF city limits), they found me a great gig which then turned into a full-time position. It didn't happen overnight. It took about 3 months before I landed in a solid consulting gig, but I confess I turned some offers down because I was being intentionally picky and holding out for that "just right" placement. Working with a recruiter does come with trade-offs, admittedly. Your hourly will be lower while you're working under the recruiter's umbrella. But I feel it was worth it because they did what they were supposed to and it did work out in my case. I also know of two people directly (my friend who first referred me to RHT and a friend I have referred in turn) who also have found good positions by working with David and his team. If you're looking for work in the tech sector, I think it's worth reaching out and connecting with them to see what's possible. Think of it as one tool in an arsenal of options as you do your job search. I will definitely go back to them if I find myself on the open job market in this field again. read more

Throughout my career, there have been times when I needed temporary work until I found a full-time, permanent position and I've turned to Office Team each time. This time I needed to land a job and found The Creative Group. The Creative Group is the marketing, advertising, PR and graphics design division of Robert Half. I met with Brandi Rahill in the Oakland office and walked away feeling excited and confident that I would have a position within the next 30 days. After a number of follow-up calls I placed, nothing. And then after a couple of months, I heard nothing at all from Brandi. I checked her LinkedIn profile and Brandi actually left the company. Okay...now what? Because I was contacted several times by Macy Metzger in the San Francisco office on a number of opportunities, I decided in May to set up an appointment with Macy. Macy was awesome. She asked me great questions and I felt that she understood my situation and my difficulty in landing a position. When she asked me where else have I applied, I showed her my spreadsheet of approximately 160 applications over the course of 7 months. She had never seen anything like that before and could tell that I wasn't a typical candidate. About 10 days later, I got a phone call from Rich Noreen in the Office Team division. Would I be interested in a temporary marketing assistant position at a construction company? Heck yes! And 2.5 hours later, he called me back stating that I would be starting on Tuesday after Memorial Day. Rich followed up with me and answered my calls professionally. As the company needed to fill the position permanently, I had to go through the interview process with a number of other candidates. I nailed it and blew the other candidates out of the water taking full advantage of actually being in the office and doing a stellar job. Rich negotiated $15K more for the position as my qualifications and skills warranted it along with the two weeks off I requested to attend Burning Man this year. (This is my 12th year.) When I started the position as a permanent employee, Rich personally delivered a dozen INCREDIBLE cupcakes to my desk. After about a year and a half of working Office Team San Francisco, and working directly with Jackie Kim, I have nothing but fantastic and excellent feedback to share with you all. Jackie Kim was the first contact I had when I started with Office Team, back in 2008. I've been placed on long-term assignment (3-5 months) as well as one to two day assignments, all of which I have been qualified. I interviewed with Kirsten on Tuesday, started working Wednesday and I haven't had a day where they couldn't find something. Every job thus far has been within my knowledge level. I worked at a nurse registry in LA where my job was to recruit nurses knowing I couldn't place them anywhere, so I was a little worried when I started. I always get excited with they say "This is a temp-to-hire", as I agree with whoever said it's cheaper to hire someone off the street. Everyone at the office is nice and treats you well. I've worked with Kirsten and Sean. Don't worry about the skills test. You have 30 minutes in the Excel, Word and PowerPoint tests, and if you answer wrong, you have another couple shots at it. Robert Half was a great resource for me. I had about a year of accounting experience before having to look for a new job. I mostly worked with Sean Pacheco but also spoke to Hollie and Alex for an assignment or 2. Sean was a great person to work with, good communicator. I was able to be honest and speak my mind and Sean was great to work with. I would give him 5 stars if this review was just about him. Unfortunately Accountemps is a national (maybe even global?) company and that means that they are all about profits. Two of the companies I worked for told me that they would hire me, but they didn't have the budget to pay the buyout fee. Also, work on your negotiating skills. Some of their clients are multi-million dollar companies, and others are sub 10 million. You can probably negotiate up to a dollar or two higher if the client is larger. I didn't really bother to negotiate because I just wanted to work and pay my rent. Overall, Accountemps started me off on short projects. As I worked to earn trust and kept up my communication, Sean started giving me longer jobs while I continued my job search. They were great with letting me go to interview, I just had to give a couple days notice. I would definitely use them again if I need to (but lets hope I don't need to anytime soon). read more

OfficeTeam is a temporary job agency, and a great place with vast opportunities to get your foot in the door. I started off with OfficeTeam in Chicago, fresh out of college. I applied via putting my resume on their site, and got a call from a recruiter. The first assignment that I accepted was originally set for a couple of days, but then it extended to a week and half. After that assignment, I accepted another one that was set for 2-3 weeks, and it got extended to a month and half, and ended there because I was moving to San Francisco. When I got to San Francisco, I contacted OfficeTeam again, and looked to them to start my journey of looking for a full time job. The SF team is amazing, very accomodating, and helpful in many ways, as long as you show that you are willing to work and do well in the assignments. I worked with quite a few of them during my time with OfficeTeam (Derek Kirby, Jessica Johnson, Amanda Hollum, Julia Spector, Lauren Barthman, Lauren Kuemmeler, Rich Noreen), and they are all great people. Because of the work I did in Chicago, I had good recommendations from the Chicago team, and the SF team immediately placed me in an assignment the week after I arrived. I went through a couple of assignments, and eventually Jessica Johnson placed me in a temporary position, which turned into me being hired for a permanent position within the company. This company has amazing people that are looking to help you succeed. Sure, they get a cut from your pay, but that's because in the end they are still a business. My advice is to not look at the few days/few weeks assignments as just that, but rather to look at them as opportunities to get your foot in the door. Take the interviews seriously, and treat the assignments as you would a permanent full-time job. There are many opportunities and chances for you to be hired permanently. read more

The San Francisco job market is competitive, and I was really feeling that. I probably sent out hundreds of applications, and in turn, received no response. My employment history was solid, my skills were tuned, and I was ready to find a new permanent spot, but I couldn't get an interview. I started researching recruiters in the area and met with 5 of them. Each one that I met with made me feel like a freaking rock-star by the time I was leaving the office, with big promises, and insane amounts of praise; Office Team was the only team to deliver. I've been unemployed or underemployed for a long time, yet the time taken by Kevin Goldson and the encouragement he gives isn't present in other companies. Unfortunately he wasn't able to find me a position, but being told (when quoting what I was making at the time) that I'm definitely undervalued makes me feel that it's only a matter of time before I find myself fulfilled and compensated for my experience, education and talent. I've registered with other staffing agencies like others. I decided to try Office Team when I responded to a job posting they had for an admin role. Jessica V. reached out to me informing they had actually already gone through to 2nd rounds for the role, but wanted to meet with me to go over what I was looking for. We met and she was really nice. She contacted me a week later or so about a role that she though I'd like. Long story short, I made it to the final round of interviews (yay), but they went with another candidate. Boo! Oh well, such is life! But it was a great experience and you can't go wrong with interview practice. I've also worked/spoken with Erin C., Lauren K. and Urvashi and Jessica M. on the RH side who have all be awesome to speak with. Urvashi just helped me land a temp gig while I keep job searching. While it's not my dream job, it'll be good experience and help get some income rolling in. The front desk ladies are always nice and helpful. I've had such a great experience with this company, including the Robert Half side. I have to say when they've told me about roles and forwarded me the job postings and I've interviewed, they're pretty spot on. I don't feel like what they've said to me over the phone is different than what the employers have communicated to me in person so that's good. Who likes crazy surprises in interviews? Anywho, the job hunt continues and I so appreciate the staff working hard to find me a role. Is it weird that I get excited when I see them calling? I am a recent graduate and man, this whole process for the ideal gig was a monster. The competition was so fierce. I went for weeks, trudging through interviews with companies and jobs I didn't really want. However, working with Mark Caraway really changed the quality of my job search. I would give them zero stars if I could. I graduated with an accounting degree two and a half years ago. Since I didn't have much experience I was told all I can get for work is accounting clerk jobs. It took a long time but around a year and half ago I got an accounting clerk job on my own. I worked there for about six months and during that time I told Robert half about my experiences. Now I'm told that I need at least 2 years of accounting clerk experience before I can apply for a staff accountant position that pays 18 to 20 dollars an hour. After that I would move up to some other accounting position that requires me another give years of experience to get to that pays 25 and hour. 7 years for 25 an hour is so not worth it. Overall I had two interviews of which one person said why did they sent you to interview with us. We want someone with 5 to 10 years experience and is a cpa. The other said we will start you as an accounting clerk at 14 dollars an hour. A waste of time. The recruiters are terrible they don't respond unless you call them and they don't even want to try and send your resume out even if your qualified. After reading some of the poor to mediocre reviews here on Yelp, it is evident that some do not understand the give-and-take required to have a successful experience with The Creative Group. Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to work with Parmita Choudhury as my primary recruiter. When we first met for lunch, Parmita and I discussed my qualifications and career path as a graphic designer here in San Francisco. Throughout our initial conversation, Parmita was able to dissect my skill set and provide me with valuable information about the current job market and where she believed I would fit best. What impressed me about Parmita was her ability to effectively communicate how important it was for us to work as a team. Her honest guidance and analysis of my skill set, as well as the areas she wanted to see some improvement (such as reformatting my portfolio), helped me not only understand what it takes to get noticed by hiring managers, but also what working with employment agencies is all about. No, not every opportunity presented is going to be your dream job and no, not every application is going to get noticed by a hiring manager. However, if you are willing to openly communicate with your recruiter and are willing to acknowledge their advice, your recruiter will do their best to place you in a position where you will succeed. His attention to detail of the whole person, including skills, personality, work style, and goals speaks to his devotion to his industry. After submitting my resume and completing my profile online, they called maybe a day or two later and scheduled an interview. The interview was concise and efficient. My interviewer was Alex, and he was very easy to work with. He introduced me to his team, and he told me to be ready to work within a few days. I received a 6 month assignment to a very strong company that eventually hired me full-time. It was a great experience. Their ratings speak themselves. I am a seasoned Paralegal with excellent references. They have never placed me a in Paralegal position. A couple of recruiters have reached out to me regarding positions and when I respond, the job isn't really available, or I go through the initial process and never hear from them again. i believe they age discriminate even though most employers want an experienced Paralegal that can work independently and need very little training. I have never benefited from their services...if that's what you want to call it. A waste of time. Do yourself a favor, look for an agency that takes an interest in finding you employment. read more

Office Team is AMAZING! I was referred to them by my roommate who landed a really awesome job working with them. I was miserable with my employment situation but not having the best luck finding something else on my own. I gave them a call, set up a time to meet with one of the recruiters, and from the second I walked into the office they were nothing but great to me. I was introduced to Lauren Kuemmeler who was determined to help me find something I would love. They sent me on quite a few interviews- some that even resulted in a job offer but it just didn't seem right. I was terrified Lauren would decide I was too difficult to work with and give up on me but she didn't and sure enough a really exciting opportunity working as the Executive Assistant at a huge PR firm in downtown SF came along.
