When I lived in Santa Clara, I had a strong relationship with Accountemps and other employment agencies in that area. When I moved to San Francisco many strange things happened. I worked a few short term assignments with Accountemps. Accountemps would call me while working on other assignments and other agencies that placed me. They would ask me where I was working and who placed me. Say what? How did they know I was working somewhere? Accountemps also would assign me to positions and then pull me off the assignments for un-explained reasons and without the client even knowing the issue. After trying to follow their complaint policy, the department that handled the complaints was bypassed and I was directed straight to the SF manager. After much disagreement and statements that did not make sense, the manager stated to me that she could not employ me until I could show that I had a job ... ? Basically they had black balled me and could not explain why or reference any one incident. read more

Good for the people who have had success with these folks, but my experience with them was frustrating. I submitted a resume last year, got called the next day by a recruiter. Real nice guy, confirmed my info, connected on LinkedIn. Since I'm in the North Bay--not as many opportunities as SF--he said he'd wait to see what opportunities came up before bringing me in for testing & stuff. No problem. Never got any further inquiries. I came across a few North Bay jobs that seemed like a good fit, and contacted him about them, got the polite response, but no action taken. He eventually moved on to another company. Cut to last week, when I find a job opening in the North Bay right down the road from me--and I'm confident I can achieve in all their requirements! I contact TCG, sending an updated resume. The next day I see a recruiter named Kelly Simon has checked out my LinkedIn profile, cool... Later in the day I see the same ad reposted on Craigslist. OK, I guess I didn't fit the bill. Still, it seemed like a perfect match, so I emailed Kelly (her address was in the job post), asking for info about the position and how I'd signed up with them last year. No response. What they dont tell you... the are listed as "Robert Half" when you go looking for their office. I think many times experiences at placement agencies are hit or miss. My experience and review to follow... Shortly!! :o) Tips when going to placement agencies: * bring a copy of your resume (even if you already emailed it) * bring two forms of ID like a driver's license & SS card * be prepared to fill out paper work like w2's, direct depost forms * bring any info (past addresses for background checks and references) * be prepared to take tests in things like Excel, Word and Powerpoint p.s. their website is the same for SF & San Mateo. If you have a 650 (or non 415) area code/address the site might automatically place you in the data base for the San Mateo office. The best! I'm a freelancer, and my work flow isn't always steady. I use Office Team to find temp work in between projects. I've used a lot of agencies, and Office Team has been the best one to work with. Why? Because... I've consistently gotten quality assignments with top companies, working with the best people in the industry. The recruiters at OT are more like match-makers, finding the best situation for my skills and background. And they are really nice people too, who believe in good communication. I was laid off 2 months ago from a company that I had been with for 9yrs. I found myself really new to interviewing and marketing myself. I was then connected to Tyler Korn and he really helped me out. I was really nervous at in the interview but he really helped welcome me. I've had only good experiences with them. I got my first temp job maaaany years ago through them after college and used them through the years when i was in between jobs. Even when I eventually quit my first assignment as a receptionist at a brokerage firm (4am start woohoo!) who had an HR manager the equivalent of the a black hole, a week or two after that, Office Team called me up for a position upstairs at the same company as a general assistant in their specialized brokerage group. The people were great and even better, the pay was more and I did not have to deal with the HR person. Years later I used O.T. again to get a paper trail as I was eventually moving to NYC. Once in NYC, I temped again and eventually ended up with their Robert Half International Group at Protiviti which was my best experience at an office workplace, temp or permanent, evah. I owe my spot for my first job out of college to Jessica Mason & Tyler Korn. For awhile, I tried finding jobs through Monster, Indeed, Career Builder & through different company websites. I remembered a friend of mine who was able to get a job through a staffing agency (which I later found out was also through RH's OfficeTeam). It worked for her, so I decided to apply this one night in February. To my surprise, the very next morning I get a call from Tyler to set up an interview. I'm a shy person, so I was a little nervous for the interview. But when I met with Tyler, I felt immediately comfortable & he assured me that we'd find a job for me. Tyler & the rest of the team provided me with a handful of different job opportunities, one of which is the company I'm currently with. When I did the first interview with my current company, I thought I did really poorly because again, I was super nervous. I told Jessica & Tyler afterwards that I didn't think I did too well, but was willing to go back for a second interview if they saw potential in me. RH is the best agency I've worked with in SF, unlike many who take your information and never get back to you. Ellary was the recruiter I originally met with and her team started calling me within a few days of meeting her. The opportunities were relevant to what I was looking for and the various recruiters I spoke with offered a lot of support. I did not find my new job through RH, but I would contact them again when I'm ready to look. Only thing is that the companies they recruit for can be really slow in their hiring process which can make looking yourself a little faster at times​. read more

As a whole, Office Team has a good amount of employment coverage in the city and many options for anyone searching. I worked with Jessica M. who approached me on my first visit and got the ball rolling faster than anyone else in the office. 3-4 weeks after setting foot in the door, I found myself in a Temp-to-Perm role that quickly converted over to full time (~4 months). I had a few other offers to start working sooner in different fields, but Jessica pointed out some good facts and guidelines to steer me in the right direction. Looking back to 8 months, I'm now hired and things are going in a good direction. This is my first to review on yelp or of any type online but Robert half legal company is that bad that I had to speak out so that hopefully other people won't have to go through the same really bad treatment I was subject to. For 29 years I have been a litigation/trial attorney in California in perfect standing with the State Bar. I also have the businesses and corporations on the side. In all my years in law of hiring attorneys, paralegals and law clerks and being hired by companies in my beginning for the same positions, I've never experienced a company with this poor of customer service and substance. I spent numerous hours with these guys forwarding my information and requirements for a paralegal and then interviewed a paralegal and waited for her to show up. She never did. And when I called her she said she was straight out told that Robert Half had already called me earlier to tell me that they said I was "too much of a liability" and that everything had been explained to me. Obviously, nothing much further from the truth! And this happened to me using my personal referrals from my years as a trial attorney to get to the very top people so if things like this would never occur! When I called Robert half senior manager, I was told that "they have a lot of red tape", apparently trying to excuse all of my wasted time and near/slander of calling me "too much of a liability" without any writings to me, without any telephone calls or any real explanation. Save yourself the trouble and go to an experienced legal placement company that actually is professional in their dealings with people and read the other reviews of people hired by them and not just from someone like me who was trying to hire someone from them. It is the most embarrassing and inglorious treatment in the legal field I have ever received as an attorney for many years in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Lord only knows how they treat people have less lofty professional achievements. read more

I moved to San Francisco right after college and was eager to start my career and job search right away, but I didn't know quite where to start. I found Robert Half through a job posting I found online and they helped me keep busy while I continued to look for more permanent work. Jessica Torres was the first to assign me to a position, she was very personable and helpful and had fun little jobs for me to do to keep me busy. Jessica Johnson then contacted me about a position at an advertising agency and wow was it a great fit! I immediately felt at home in this temp job and got asked to extend my assignment and was eventually made full time. Jessica Johnson helped me through the whole process, handling my negotiation with salary, making sure I was getting what I was suppose to be getting, and just making sure I was comfortable with how things were going the whole time. I really appreciate how fast they process paychecks. However, don't even attempt to get a raise (even if the job includes a lot more than the job description). They're easy to access, find jobs pretty fast (I think they're the biggest in their field) and find things conveniently fast. However, they have a fast turnover (hence the speedy paycheck processing) and won't really hear you out when ask for a raise. They're great at pretending the employer won't give you a raise, like they're not taking a big old cut out of what the employer is paying. As far as staffing firms go though, they're definitely the best I've worked with. read more

The staff at Office Team is great. I worked through both this office and the Oakland office and really appreciated their professionalism and efficiency. I kept trying to get short term assignments through the San Francisco office when I started out with them but they wanted to get me on a longer term assignment given my resume and experience. At the time I was annoyed since I really just needed work, but after they landed me in a 5 month assignment filling in for an Executive Assistant at a nonprofit I was glad they had the vision to make me wait for something long-term. That nonprofit kept requesting me back. I worked with this nonprofit through Office Team off and on for about a year and a half before accepting a direct employment offer. The nonprofit had asked me multiple times to apply directly but I kept declining as I was still exploring my options. To highlight Office Team's efficiency, my last assignment at my now job ended on a Thursday, and the following morning at 8:30 am I received a phone call for another long term Executive Assistant assignment at another nonprofit starting on Monday. I was really impressed with how fast and efficient they were acting to keep me working. At this point I had already decided to take the offer at the other nonprofit so I declined the new assignment. Rich and team were happy to hear that I had moved on to permanent work and Rich checked in on me about a month later. I highly recommend Office Team to everyone that asked me about staffing agencies in the Bay Area. The time I worked through Office Team was during a 1.75 year period of my life where I was doing a mix of promotional modeling and professional work through staffing agencies. All but one professional assignment came through Office Team (primarily SF and then also Oakland in 2014) even though I was signed up with 2-3 other agencies. I just had the worst RHL experience of my over 27 years as Legal Secretary. I'd been semi-retired for 9 years (which shouldn't matter) and had registered with RHL for temp jobs in 2012, but rarely ever heard back from them and certainly never worked for them. Suddenly, last Friday, I responded to an e-mail from AccounTemps about accounting positions. I wrote back and said I don't have that experience, please remove me from your list. Then, suddenly, a few hours later I got a call from Ben at OfficeTemps telling me about a possible job at OneLegal in Petaluma which I was interested in. He asked me to fill out all that voluminous paperwork via e-mail, which I did. Never heard back from Ben at OfficeTemps. Then I suddenly got a call from Jasmine Penny from RHL San Francisco saying she'd like to talk to me about upcoming positions in San Francisco. "Wow", I thought--I'm marketable again!" So I talked to Jasmine on the phone, and all seemed good and she was going to keep me in mind for jobs. Then I get this e-mail Friday at 5:18pm asking me to confirm an interview for Monday (yesterday) at 9:30am at a firm in SF. I was wondering about it, because the job was for Case Assistant, and I'm a Legal Secretary, but I thought I should just do it. So I did. I made all the necessary sacrifices and did the research to get to the interview yesterday at 9:30am, and it turned out the interview was for another candidate, and Jasmine had switched me with another person, sending me the confirmation in error (you would think she would have figured that out when she received my confirmation?!!). The interviewing firm didn't know what to do with me or what had happened, so they quarantined me in a small, windowless, grey conference room with a telephone for 20 minutes until they figured it out. In the meantime, I used the phone in the room to call Jasmine, but just when I got her on the phone, the office manager walked in and I handed the phone to her to talk to Jasmine. THey finally ushered me out the elevator coldly and dispassionately, once we all figured out that RHL had screwed up. Big screw up, if you ask me. It was the worst RHL experience I'd ever had in over 27 years. I came home and found an e-mail of apology from Jasmine, asking if she could console me by buying me a cup of coffee next week. Whaaaat???!!!! I told her, you can make it all go away by getting me a job, gurrrlll! I also sent an e-mail to her supervisor there, Karrina Carrera (where do they come up with these names sounding like they're rapper thugs?) but have heard nothing back (her voice-mail box was also full). I am done with RHL. Ageism is rampant there, too. And I have superior skills as a Legal/Litigation Secretary for over 27 years. They totally diss me over and over and over again. After several years in the customer service and hospitality industry, I was ready for something different. I applied to hundreds of jobs through monster/indeed/etc job sites and getting little to no results (plus working two jobs I hated at the same time), it was pretty draining. An acquaintance had gotten a full time job through a different agency, so I did my research and found Robert Half to be one of the better ones in the Bay Area. But I was still hesitant about going this route because it would mean stepping outside my comfort zone and venturing into the "real" professional world. I created a RH/Office Team profile, uploaded my resume, and a little blurb about myself and called it a night. The next day, and over the course of the week, I received probably a dozen phone calls from Robert Half. My brother incidentally also signed up with RH about a month beforehand (I made him the guinea pig and try it out first) and started a job at an awesome office in the Financial District within a month. He also had a couple day/week long assignments before that. And after three months he was hired permanently with the office. Starting at the end of March/early April, my experience was a little more drawn out. But I would say that was due to my lack of experience in the financial/admin/business industries rather than RH's organization (which seems to be pretty good). I knew how to be cheery and cater to people's needs, but didn't have the slightest idea about how banks work. But RH stuck it out with me. Specifically, Tyler Korn (who also helped my brother) and Nicole Sher were the two I was in most contact with. I was nervous meeting Tyler but his cool and easy going demeanor really made a great impression on me and I knew his sincerity meant I would be getting something soon. I had a couple interviews with big name companies in the financial district, but alas my lack of experience would make them choose a more qualified candidate. Tyler assured that it rarely took more than a month or two to find a position so I stuck it out. About a week later, near mid May, I received a call at 6pm (yes they work hard and late!) from Nicole saying she had found a great position. I interviewed the next morning (this seems to be pretty common, but also keeps you on your toes which I actually appreciate). The client said they had about 10-15 candidates for 2-3 positions so chances weren't terrible but I was expecting to get offered since this company is probably one of the biggest in the financial world. Two days later, Nicole rang and the first thing she said was "I have good news!!" I started the following Monday and this week will be my the end of my second month at the company. I also spoke with Tyler earlier this week and he told me that I have been getting excellent feedback from my supers/managers. Which is really nice to hear, as simple as that idea is. In conclusion, my experience with Robert Half/OfficeTeam, specifically the people mentioned above, has been extremely wonderful and warm. Tyler is always pleasant to talk to and I can confidently say that for his coworkers I have met or interacted with (Nicole, Jessica Mason, Mike Schimanek, to name a few off the top of my head) as well. I just graduated recently, and it must have been fate! After a month of job hunting, Brandon found me on Linkedin. I followed up with him and we scheduled a meeting at his office later that week. I met with Brandon and his colleague, Lisa, and I was truly impressed. After looking at my website and resume, they made a list of companies they thought I would be a good fit for. They told me it may take a few days or a few weeks, but they would contact me when they found a position I was a good fit for. Upon leaving their office, I was both excited and hopeful. It did take a few weeks, but Brandon was great at keeping an open line of communication. He checked in with me every week with a brief phone call to let me know the status of his job hunt. Then one fateful day two weeks ago, Brandon called to let me know of a position he thought I would be perfect for. When he told me the details of the job, I couldn't believe it. It was at a company I had admired for ages, and I met all of the qualifications for the position. He submitted my name for consideration, and then I waited to hear back from him. I was a bit hesitant at first about working with a temp agency, but I went out on a limb when the going was getting tough in finding a job. I initially worked with Jessica Mason. A really pleasant woman who was always very enthusiastic when corresponding with me. She was great. She then referred me to Erin Carter, who was (and is) such a rock star. She got me placed super fast at a company that I felt like I fit right in with. She was my match maker and she did her job well. When things started getting hard in my personal life, Erin came through for me. She didn't try to pressure me to stay with Office Team. She really understood my circumstances and tried to work with me. She was able to finagle what she could so that I could continue temping at my placement. (Did I mention that she was a rock star?!
