I was contacted by Allison Jacques regarding administrative contract roles with Robert Half in San Francisco, including Executive Assistant and Office Management positions. She scheduled an interview for Monday--my only day off--only to later inform me she wouldn't be in the office that day. The interview was never rescheduled, and I never heard from her again. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable. If a recruiter initiates contact and sets an appointment, the bare minimum is to follow through or communicate clearly. Allison's disorganized handling of this process wasted my time and reflects poorly on Robert Half. In a job market where candidates are already under pressure, this kind of careless behavior is not just frustrating--it's damaging. Sadly I'm writing a review on a company that I once valued and thought they valued me. I worked on 8 different projects for them over the years , one of them that resulted in a 15 year job in the financial sector. I was laid off in 6/2023 and have been registered with Robert Half since then. They have found no positions for me, temporary, full time or contract. I occasionally get emails from them but when I apply for any of the positions on the app or respond to the occasional email they send, I never hear back. This has been a cross the board. Reading so many of these disappointing reviews made me realize that the staff is not trained in communication or they are just overwhelmed. Austin Cauthron is extremely rude and very unprofessional. He has not decorum while speaking with professionals during their assignments. He ignores email, doesn't leave any voicemail messages after calling people, and tends to provided differential treatment towards people who are considered a minority. If you are attempting to working with Robert Half - San Francisco location you would want to avoid him at all cost. He definitely isn't a good representation of Robert Half. read more

This update is for Accountemps Salaried Professional Division. I really enjoyed my time with with the division. Being on salary you are technically an employee of Robert Half with all benefits, vacations, bonuses and time off. Sometimes there is a short time between engagements called a "bench time" for which you are still get compensated without going to work which is a great benefit. There is a wide range of clients you work for which can give you great exposure to different systems SAP, NetSuite,Salseforce and ect. as well as various industries. By working these projects you can get a lot of valuable accounting/finance skills under your belt. The practice is well managed and organized by its Director Jolie Wong and Senior Staffing Manager Kristina Chechova. Both of them are highly professional, fun, and easy to deal with.They also help you with whatever difficulties with clients you might have. In other words , they got your back :). I think because of people like Jolie and Kristina the practice has grown and became successful within a short period of time. I highly recommend it. read more

If I could give 0 stars here, this would definitely be the final score for Robert Half. I have had contracted for Robert Half in the past few years in both long and short term assignments. I had a very mixed feelings for Robert Half, until recently. Now the role I am in is not my ideal place in my career and I wanted to transition out into better position. I did apply to other jobs from different departments of Robert Half that I hope I could be placed in (SDR, Marketing Coordinator, Executive Assistant, Etc.), but none were ever initiated. I had attempted to contact some of the recruiters by email or phone on my end. None had responded, so I stopped trying. I received a call from Michelle Carmona a few days ago with an offer to work for a FAANG company in the area as an administrator with still mundane paid. Now I wasn't exactly committed to it yet as I had to think about it for a moment. I decided proceed with the offer when I felt the company's connection far outweighs my current one. I had finished majority of the paperwork for me to complete the application, and awaited the final confirmation email from Michelle. When I did, I noticed another company's name was added to the email. I decided to research the other company a bit to better myself in understanding the work relationship. When I finished, I was very disappointed. As it turns out, I wouldn't be going to support a FAANG company in my contract with Robert Half; I would be working to support a Real Estate Broker company with their FAANG tentant/client in my contract with Robert Half at a distance. And I was never given a clear impression of this true structure until it was time to confirm the role. I tried to contact Michelle in text before she called me through her cellphone. I briefly asked if who I would be working for under the contract, but she kept reinforcing the FAANG brand as an answer. It felt like she was deflecting the question away from me by not giving me a straight answer. I didn't try to ask the other questions I had, and simply retracted my interest as I know this will not end well. What made things worse now is that I just received a passive aggressive email from another Robert Half associate, Jen McCurry, stating a different start time clock, and gaslighting the role of a "Foot in the Door", despite the FAANG company is not involved in the direct work relationship. An email that is not relevant to the final decision making. I don't think the recruiter Michelle or Jen, and to extend Robert Half, had any idea how much they've nearly jeopardized my current career path. I was going to take a leap of faith in the opportunity that turned out to be a misrepresentation of what it was. Simply because the real estate company was nearly omitted in my decision making process, and overpromoted the FAANG brand despite at an extremely distant connection. I am tired of Robert Half recruiters offering me poor matches that will never provide any career growth beyond being an underpaid administrator. Michelle and Jen was the worst of this exepriance by manipulating to me about it, and this leaves a poor taste in Robert Half's Office Team, and the company itself. This review is from the employer perspective. I had used Robert Half on and off for years when we were in a pinch for talent. I always had a feeling that they underpaid their talent. One time, the assistant we were assigned was actually living out of her car. We hired her permanently, and she was able to get an apartment. But that gave me pause. Then recently, we engaged a project manager for an office move. I just had to ask how much she was making. She was getting $100 per hour while the Robert Half was charging us $210 !!!!! That's a double mark up. So I called our Robert Half representative, who got us in touch with her manager, David Knapp. We asked if our project manager might be able to get paid $125 or $130 per hour. He turned out to be the rudest person we have ever done business with. He constantly interrupted us, repeatedly demanded to know if the project manager had complained, refused to discuss the fee or even acknowledge our request. This is exploitation. Clear and simple. I realize there are agency costs, such as sourcing talent, paying the temps' benefits, etc.. But a 200% mark up off the back of skilled people who need a job is horrible. It's an industry secret to post ads for jobs that don't exist with often entry level responsibilities with high pay and no company name listed. We know the truth. What your firm does is shady!!! How many of you fit this scenario? 1. Find a job that's too good to be true. Since your desperate for a job, you take the bait and apply to a job posting by this company. 2. You set up the initial phone screen. Everything goes well. You have hope. 3. You go to an in person meeting at their office. They take your resume and collect some more information. Essentially they are looking to see if you look "professional". It's usually to discriminate people between people they want to present and the rest of the group. However for you everything seems to be going well. 4. Then they screw you. You think you are applying for the job listed in step 1 but you find out that job isn't open to you for what ever reason. Usually they give you an excuse that it's not the proper fit for you. Say what? Than why call you in? All they did was collect your information and tell you that they will contact you when something comes up that better matches your background. 5. You never hear from this company again. You realized you just wasted your time. Companies like this should not exist. They are a cancer to the job search process and honestly hurting the economy. Also I have no idea how people are rating this 5 starts. I highly suspect something fishy is going on such as paid reviews or friends reviewing this company. Notice all the reviews have only a few reviews outside the review for his company. The way this company operates, I wouldn't put it past them to do something like that. I was contacted by a Robert Half/Office Team recruiter operating out of Pleasanton. Having had over-the-moon assignments with the company, of course I am going to answer her questions to ascertain if there might be a match for me in their colossal database of fabulous opportunities. After about 30 minutes of question and answer on Face time, the recruiter recommended an internal position with Robert Half which she said, upon reflection, that she intuitively felt I would be ideal for, she asked me to hang on while she checked with her director about the vacant position. She came back to the call and said that her director was interested in meeting me and so we set up an interview. I completed the required documents in preparation for the interview, and the day prior received an interview update from the recruiter. Herein is where I felt disrespected, if there was something in my profile that they discovered last minute, they should have given me a courtesy call to terminate the interview. Be that as it may, I arrive at Robert Half's Pleasanton Office 15 minutes early; it was about a solid 30 minute drive from Oakland. The recruiter who invited me to the office was waiting for me in the Lobby when I arrived; a cool10 minutes passed, and out comes this elderly woman in a pink two-piece suit. I rise to greet her, she introduces herself, barely shaking my hand. She ushers me into a large conference room and offers me her card. She has my resume in front of her, she's sort of edgy and unfriendly, she begins to tell me how she had reviewed my profile; and how in light of what she saw, she would not consider me for the internal opportunity. No problem with that; but 10 minutes before you meet me, you review my profile? She was 105% condescending and arrogant. She would not listen to me at all. I'd just drove 30 minutes to an interview and I can't talk? I've never experienced a person who is supposed to be seasoned lack even basic polish, tact, candor, diplomacy. Sandra Giberson's demeanor an attitude was so awful, I had to come home and take a shower. She denigrated her colleague who recommended me for the internal position, saying: "she has no idea what to look for in a candidate." How arrogant, she also went bragging about Robert Half's Fortune 500 status, and as a gatekeeper, her job (I'm paraphrasing) is to keep people like me out! In the totality of collective interviews, the was the single most despicable experience I've had ever! Here is how a professional would handle the same situation. Hi James, nice to meet you. This recruiter Juliana Fraletti was one of the most unprofessional recruiters I've ever encountered in my life. With a pandemic and hiring slowing down, hey sometimes for an opportunity, we do things we normally wouldnt. Normally I'd hang up on someone like her. The short version is: She called me and verbally abused me and I never heard from her again. She called me multiple times at 9 o'clock at night. I only answered because I thought it was an emergency. Maybe it was a friend or family member calling from a different number. I explain to her that I was a mom with a baby that I was putting to bed and she insisted I stay on the phone with her because I was a great fit for the role, and she needed to submit all her applicants before her business day closed. Apparently she was in another time zone than myself and didn't care that it was late for me. She kept cutting me off and degrading my experience. (But earlier she said I was a great fit lol) She kept shutting me down implying that the amount I was asking for was too much in comparison to other submittals. Just an absolute unprofessional and mean mess. After all that I never heard from her again. After a week I text her and I called her to see if she had any other opportunities and I never heard back from her. read more

I gave up on her, but decided to try reaching out once more a couple months later. She insisted that she hadn't heard back from me since our last conversation and asked me to send her an updated resume in a specific format. I did that immediately, and then...nothing. Radio silence forever. I gave up on her, but decided to reach out to Robert Half and see if I could find a new recruiter to work with. I was directed to a different guy and left a voicemail, but never heard back. Tried to do the same thing with their Oakland office and - prepare yourself for a shock - I never heard back. I could only recommend calling these folks if you enjoy writing out emails that will never be read or responded to. Was approached and hired through Robert Half for a bank position. What I was told and what it actually is are two very different things. When I contacted my rep, he didn't call even though I was promised several times he would. Also found out he was "assisting" in getting the positions filled, which he normally does not handle. When I asked to be put in contact with someone that does handle the positions, he said the company DOESN'T HANDLE THOSE TYPES OF POSITIONS AT ALL! OfficeTeam is amazing!!! I came back from college with barely any legit work experience except for campus jobs and summer jobs I held throughout high school. I had been looking for a full time job for a few months at that point, but even after so many interviews, I couldn't get one! My mom had the idea to join a temp agency so at least I would have money while i'm still looking for a job. I then found OfficeTeam on yelp and started temping through them. I applied online to one of their jobs and got a call the next day from Lauren Kuemeller. I met her later that week at the 50 California office. She was really excited to help me and hopefully get my foot in the door at some great offices around FiDi. We talked a bit about what I wanted from this, and the length of jobs (full-time, part-time, temp-to-hire, etc.). After filling out the tax forms and everything, she actually took me to meet Jessica Johnson, who put me in a week-long assignment THE NEXT DAY!! I was so excited to make money again (#brokecollegegrad) and thankful they could match me up with something like this in such a short amount of time. They have short temp assignments like a week or even one day (I was a receptionist for a day once!), but also long ones that span over a few months and have the opportunity to convert to a full time position. Eventually I did find a full-time position elsewhere that I wanted to commit to, so I am no longer using OfficeTeam as a resource. But now I know whenever I am in need of a job, I will definitely reach out to them again. read more

I tried utilizing Robert Half Legal for my job search to have an Administrative position in a law firm. The process was jumbled I felt the communication was not up to par. The recruiter did not send me to a lot of opportunities and I felt like I missed out due to that. I feel like my job search has been better on my own and that the dynamics here are unprofessional for the following reasons. 1. No personal feedback 2. Only temp positions 3. Condescending emails 4. Recruiter didn't read my resume 5. I wasn't called to be told I didn't get the job I wasted my time when I could have been speaking to a more qualified recruiter that could actually place me. They won't contact you even if you send your resume. You would not even get an email after three weeks. Your time and interest is worth nothing to the eyes of this group. You might be too insignificant for them, so they obviously would not deign to even give you a response. For a group that focuses on Marketing, I'm highly doubtful in their ability to market for other companies when they can't even retain a good image for *themselves*. Find another staffing company. If you want to waste time waiting for a response that will never come, I recommend spending your time on something with a higher rate of return--like sending a tweet to Donald Trump. Years ago Robert Half placed me as a temp in the same company twice. After the time had passed for Robert Half to collect a finder's fee the company hired me on. After almost a decade I was laid off. I went back to RH for another temp assignment and the entire vibe of the place had changed. A recruiter interviewed me who was young, but nice. She introduced me to a manager in the IT department who wasn't the nicest. The first recruiter asked me to send her some additional information and she would get back to me. Not the best experience all around. I signed up for Robert Half in February and this has been my experience: Non-Responsive - I've received countless emails for job opportunities and 98% of the time the representative ignore your email or respond with a brief - will submit you but will not follow up. Don't Communicate - When you ARE on an assignment their rep doesn't walk you through the steps and prepare you for the assignment (i.e timesheets, grievances, follow-up, etc) knowing that this IS an at-will state and thus setting you up to fail. Very Dishonest - I tried to communicate to the rep in regards to the situation at one assignment and it appeared to me that they are NOT interested NOR have their employees' best interest in mind. They don't seem to care about your bad experience of harassment and they will completely leave you in the dark. They will tell you that your status with them is ok when its not. They blatently lie about it when asked directly. Now after applying for countless opportunities with them and not getting any responses from reps, you then hear from another rep that there was an issue all along. They now have the nerve to say they will place me on a 3-5 day assignment and that should rebuild their TRUST with me. What about my TRUST with them? Upper Management doesn't care - I was fair and had, what it seemed to be a mutual understanding with upper management as I thought that the issue was resolved and that we're able to move forward, but the fact that I feel they are starting at the very bottom tells me that they wont move on. They will lecture YOU about yourself, but it seems that they cant accept feedback from you, the client. The endless cycle of corporate abuse needs to end and Robert Half has a long way to go. Years ago I did work for Robert Half and was treated horribly by a team member who is apparently no longer there. Was treated like a third class person (remember you people are trying to get people like us positions) The disorganization, emails, trying to return phone calls with your teams voicemail boxes are jammed full. When someone finally calls back, I can only get one word out of ten that they are trying to say. Just recently contacted about a Mac position so I thought Id give Robert Half a try again, Its the same thing as years ago. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! I was emailed a position by Matthew Blackburn from Robert Half (RH). As the position was a good fit, I responded with my resume and intent and was quickly called for a phone interview. After the initial interview, I was told that I would receive a call from a manager for a 2nd interview. The 2nd interview went well and I was offered the position and I accepted. I was emailed a few links to begin my background check, which I completed immediately. I was sent an I-9 form, which I also completed immediately... Thats when ALL COMMUNICATION with RH stopped. After these guys collect all of my personal information, they ghost me!!! I reached out via email to my "recruiter", Matthew, and received no response. After a few days, I emailed the HR dept for an update. I was told that they were just waiting for a start date from the company. I waited a few more days before reaching out to Matthew again, still no response. Its been a couple of weeks and still no update. Even though it was 3pm. Positives: +They reply to you relatively quickly when you fill out one of their many job postings +Overall, they're good at getting you work. I'm not saying they're 100%, but they're fairly dependable +You get paid quickly (every week if you submit your time sheet online by the 6pm Friday deadline) Negatives: -Disorganized Sometimes they'll call you at the last minute to fill a job. They'll also try and put pressure on you to accept it so they can fill the position and make money. Also, there were many instances where I would leave messages for people, especially if I was contacted about a position and I wouldn't hear back from them. That was common. -Increasingly demanding I was told to keep my phone on from 7am-7pm. Ok, first of all, I don't even wake up at 7am if I don't have work or something important going on. Second of all, whether or not I leave the phone off or on standby makes no difference. If I'm away from my phone, the outcome will still be the same. You'll still have to leave a voice message in both cases. So I don't understand their logic with that. -Millennial sweatshop Ask them to give you a tour of their departments (one for finance, one for legal/paralegal, etc). They're huddled 10 to a computer. When they hit the delete button, 5 of them already have their finger on the button. Haha. -"Professional" I seen somebody use this word-"Professional" when reviewing this temp agency. Stop it. One of the conversations with a staffing manager (there are multiple there, so you're going to be communicating with different people) he called me about a position. He had all of my information with him and asked me where I lived. I told him where I lived, just as he was about to hang up the phone, I could hear him say, "where the fuck is (location I gave him)?" I would LOVE for the opportunity to have a job and use language like this around the company/organization's clients/patrons. (More serious negatives): -Lack of transparency I respond more speedily via email than I do on mobile. I specified to them multiple times to communicate through email, including for jobs. I request this for a variety of reasons including so that there won't be any misunderstandings later on either side (reasonable and fair, I know right, how dare I?). I also request email so that I'm am fully notified of how much the position pays. There were instances where they would email a job with necessary information like the location, etc., but they would exclude the pay (another important point which I will get to in a minute). Some times in order to find out how much a job pays, they'll try to get you to accept the job and then hold you to it. -Misrepresentation They misrepresent pay. Pay is what initially drew me to Office Team/Robert Half. I would see them post job postings for various jobs on different sites, paying $19/hr, $20/hr, $21/hr. I filled out about five of them. That's actually how they received my resume. In reality, you're getting $15/hr, $14/hr, $13/hr (which I recently found out was, in reality, minimum wage in SF). They use those high hourly figures to lure people in. Even on Christmas, one of the most important and major national holidays where you would think nobody wanted to work. A day where people wanted to stay at home or go out with their family. You would think that people who worked on days like this would get a boost in pay because of this. Nope. I still received the least amount they were legally obligated to give me in the city/county-$13/hour. I actually received $15/hour for the same job another person was doing and she was getting $18. She wasn't using a staffing/temp agency, she was hired directly as on-call through the company that was running the condominiums. -"Office Team" with no office jobs/positions I was looking for office jobs to complement my resume and further my experience. ALL AROUND TERRIBLE. I was completely transparent about myself. I waited months for them to help me with a job. They eventually sent me a letter saying they can't and won't help me and that I could not dispute the decision. read more
