Very Unprofessional. they ask you to come over, but then you never hear back from them. Stay Away from David Vo

RH is one of the worse legal services in the city. Stay far away from this place. They only care for two things, themselves and their clients. Their applicants mean nothing to them. A few weeks ago when so many people had the cold/flu that was going around I was one of the unfortunate who did get sick. One of Robert Half's reps wanted me to go to an interview. I explained that "I am running a 102 fever, and I have no plans on interviewing." She advised me that it would only take 20 minutes and again I explained "I have a 102 fever, and no way am I going to an interview". Here is the exact conversation: "I don't think it would be a good idea if I go to the interview tomorrow." The rep's reply "We would really appreciate if you could attend. It is never a good look and it wouldn't be very long." (What the rep means about "it is a never a good look" was for RH as they may lose the client.) My reply "I am sorry but I can't. I have a slight sore throat and cough and I don't want to make it worse." RH rep reply "Well then can you go Thursday? I'm unclear as to whether you are completely passing on the opportunity?" My reply "Don't you understand I am not feeling well and I am not going to be running around." My additional reply "I don't know if I'll feel better. I'm sorry if I can't predict the future. I also find it very unprofessional that you have this need to know an answer. I can't understand why you can't tell client that the candidate is not feeling well, and will not know when he will feel better. If you don't mind waiting, I hope to hear back from him by the end of the week." The RH reply "I'm sorry if you feel that is unprofessional it is actually part of the practice. As you know we are in the temporary and temporarily to hire space so our roles fill fast. That is the only reason we are asking." RH does not care about their applicants only their clients. How can RH expect someone to go to an interview sick? They only want their cut in the fees. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Whatever you do never give RH your references. They will use your references to conduct business. It happened to me. I received a call from one of the people on my reference list that I gave to RH and she informed me that "If you don't have RH stop calling me to drum up business, I will no longer allow you to have permission to use me as a reference". I felt so embarrassed. read more

I first registered with Office Team in 2006 and they sent me to lots of assignments with minimal experience. I found a permanent position and worked from 2007 to 2012. I re-registered with Office Team in November 2012. I now have more than 5 years experience and they have yet to send me on my first assignment. It is now February and no assignments came in that I qualify for, and lo and behold I also saw a job posting on Craigslist seeking an administrative assistant. Why are they advertising on Craigslist if they don't have any assignments? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, IT IS BEST TO FIND EMPLOYMENT YOURSELF OR REGISTER WITH ANOTHER TEMP AGENCY WHO CAN FIND YOU WORK. read more

I worked with Angeline Shi at Robert Half Technology SF and she found me a great opportunity in the city. She kept me up to date and communicated often during the interview process. Some people take months to find a decent job after college. I started working a week after I graduated. This agency works SO fast. I submitted my resume one Wednesday night, they called the next morning looking to set up an interview Friday morning. At the end of the interview, my recruiter, Taylor Pine, helped revise my resume and mapped out exactly what it should look like by rearranging the format and telling me what activities, skills, etc. would be most beneficial for me to mention. I had a pathetic resume (no one told me a resume should only be one page, complete lack of professional work experience and volunteering, format was confusing) yet with her help and the help of the other representatives, they managed to find me an amazing temp to hire job with plenty of benefits that pays far more than any other entry level job listed on Indeed or Craigslist. What a waste of time it was for me to go in and meet with someone named Chandrika who proceeded to tell me that they had a few clients but really was asked to come in so she could get my contacts at my last job. I could see straight through her. Several months after my initial meeting with her she sent an email out asking if anyone would be interested in participating in this new project but you would have to lower you hourly rate. I don't think so. She reminded me of an Used Car Salesman. read more

I walked out of their office when they asked me to sign the arbitrary clause before even talking about jobs. It was a huge red flag for me, and I immediately thought "what are you so afraid of? You must be treating many people so badly that you need to protect yourself by asking them to dispute outside the court." If you go in there, don't just sign tons of paper they hand out to you... read verbiage carefully.... I've worked for many fortune 500 companies, but I've never seen anything as hideous, unprofessional and rude as their documents.... They seemed quite "ruthless" and very "impersonal". I sent in my resume to the Creative Group over a month ago and got an immediate response from one of the agents there, asking me to come in and have a chat with them. At first I was a bit hesitant, but eventually decided that it if it doesn't cost anything, it couldn't hurt. The agent and her staff were very encouraging and welcoming when I arrived. Entering the the business world as a creative is extremely hard, but TCG's staff made sure to put me at ease. Everyone was very friendly, bubbly and seemed more than eager to help me find a job "proactively". I must admit that it worked. I really believed that they would be able to help me. But then I waited. and waited... and I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me. TCG's services are free, however I don't believe that it is worth the time that you will waste in their offices. I'm sure that there are many individuals out there like me - qualified creatives trying their hardest to enter the job market with no professional experience, consistently getting rejected (because they're new to this market) and frustrated that they have succumbed to applying for internships with a MA degree. The Creative Group not only wasted my time, they led me to believe that I had someone on my side - someone who recognized and appreciated my talents and was willing to help me take the first steps in my new career. But then they abandoned me and my resume completely. I have not heard from them, have had no follow-ups and I am beginning to believe that the word "proactive" is just a marketing gimmick or a cruel joke to deter you from fulfilling your dreams of making a livelihood as a creative. The job market is a cruel arena for inexperienced creatives to enter, regardless of their talent. It's hard enough getting rejected consistently, and then have to watch lazy, less talented but more experienced individuals land your dream job. The last thing I need right now is to be involved in such a corporation and support this industrial way of working that lacks appreciation for actual talent. In other words, stay away. And please never, EVER say the word "proactive" to me again - in any of its grammatical forms. read more

When I was previously unemployed and in my early 40's, Office Team made me feel like I was too old for employment and basically unemployable. On my initial visit, I waited for almost an hour after my set interview time to see my recruiter. She then told me to call her every day to see what was available. The following day, I called and she said she didn't know who I was and needed to pull my file. She had nothing for me that day and told me to call tomorrow. The next day, the same scenario occurred. She said she didn't know who I was, asked if I had ever applied with them before, etc.. This went on for a week and I finally just told her if she had anything for me to call me instead of me calling her. One day she called me offered me a job as a maid in a hotel, which startled and insulted me because I have years of experience as an office professional. She didn't flinch, however, and simply said "Oh, well, you were looking for employment and I am offering you a job". Office Team would also post jobs in the newspaper every Sunday and when you would call them on Monday and refer to these jobs, they would tell you, with attitude, that they had no idea that this type of job existed and where are you getting this information from? I registered with Robert Half to assist in my search. Susan was instantly a great resource. She never made me feel ignored and it was obvious she was out working my resume to potential employers. It took a few months (and again I attribute that to the job market) to find me the right position, but it was worth the wait. I am thrilled with my new assignment. Office Team SF is a 5 Star rating for SOOOO many reasons. I moved here Jan 10th and they had me in a full-time position by Jan 12th! Not only did they act fast, but they placed me in my dream job environment. I am now happily reaching the end of my 60 day temp position and am getting hired on full-time through the agency they connected me with. The Staff is really what brings this placement agency to life. I personally got to interact with Lauren Barthman and Allie Dutra. The biggest GODDAMN waste of my time!!!. I went in the beginning of September for a interview, I filled out the standard paperwork, then spent the next hour + taking proficiency test on the computer (all of which I passed with flying colors). Next, I interviewed with one of the recruiters, he said he will contact me at the end of the week. A week passes I called, and I couldn't contact the recruiter. I call a few days later, no luck. I ended up calling more times that I could count. Then finally on February 5 I get a response by phone and they said, "we would like to finish up you paperwork and contact you references". WHAT!!!!! After over 4 months they didn't even contact my references!!! I'm normally a calm person but at this point I told them to take their paperwork and SHOVE IT UP THEIR FUCKING ASSES!!! They are the WORST!!! read more

I registered with this agency before Christmas, and was told business was picking up and that there were growing opportunities for temp and temp-to-perm. Now mid-January, and after having had a great interview with one of their account managers, and having followed up by building a profile on their website and applying for numerous applicable jobs, I have not received even a single temp assignment or any sort of followup by phone or email by any Office Team account manager. This week I called and left 2 messages for an account manager to call me back to see why I have not been offered a single opportunity despite having fulfilled all of their application requirements and having been told in the interview that I would be a great candidate for their offerings in administrative assistance. No one returned the call, and still no action on any application of mine through their agency. I am getting the distinct impression that I am being shunned as undesirable even as a lowly at-will temporary employee, and there is nothing I can do about being over 50 years old! Nor is there anything I can do about being blackballed from having been the victim of workplace retaliation that continued in the form of a former employer blackballing me and giving me no other option than suing them for defamation for continuing to falsely tell potential employers they had fired me when in fact I had left that employment on a union-negotiated association-level grievance for retaliation after having been "transferred" to a cold, dirty storage room to do my "job" as a math coach for a large East San Jose school district, and all for having insisted on a written job description from a workplace bully who a 30-year veteran school secretary had described saying, "I just want you to know your boss has ruined many people's careers, and for the fun of it." I had explained all this to the person I interviewed with at Office Team in San Francisco, and she told me she sympathized. I told her that I had tried both approaches - both omitting such information altogether (especially since the settlement is supposed to be confidential along with the fact that they paid me $100k to settle - reflecting the fact that despite no admission of wrongdoing, they knew that if it ever went to trial that I could sufficiently show sufficient cause, bu that I could prove culpability beyond the shadow of a doubt - or they would have compelled the judge to dismiss it in a summary judgment, and probably continue to do it, since they breached the agreement for the retaliation grievance as soon as it was signed. Nor did the $100k even begin to meet my loss of 2 yrs employment by then at $72k/yr), and following the recent advice of an attorney to explain the whole matter and hope to find a sympathetic employer - all of which gets me the same results - excluded not only from my now-ruined career in education, but from any new employment altogether - and, yes, that's supposed to be illegal (but the general counsel for the DIR informs me that it's unenforceable outside of a civil suit, despite being a misdemeanor - that neither the DIR nor the Santa Clara County DA will serve or develop a case for or serve the misdemeanor warrantless misdeameanor called for by law, despite evidence of it being ongoing even as recently as last year, several years after leaving that employment, and a year after settling a defamation lawsuit, and all in breach of contract, that the district's general counsel assures me I'd never be able to "prove"). I continue to be told that my only available action is to bring more civil litigation, which is dubiously helpful since it's only enhanced and now cemented my utterly complete exclusion from the workforce - even to the extent of being able to obtain a single assignment (I'd also registered months ago online with Kelly Services and Manpower Services, and I type 60+ wom) as a temporary employee through a 3rd-party placement agency as an at-will worker with no rights! So, I suppose if you're an employer out there who is reading this, and you can appreciate someone who is bright and articulate and who has the courage and fortitude to attempt to change the culture of an organization deeply committed to retaliation, however unsuccessfully, with a semester of law school at SFLS, an MA from the UW in International Studies, a teaching credential with SF State with over 5 years experience teaching secondary mathematics and an additional year as a math coach, a BA from UC Berkeley in Asian Studies who has translated research articles in semiconductor manufacturing research methods and has academic background up through the 3rd-yr college level in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese, with 4 years of French in high school, a year of Spanish, and a first-year summer intensive program in Russian, along with the equivalent of a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science at Cal State Hayward and 2 years experience as a technical writer/editor, call 5104275880 read more

Best recruiters for marketing/creative professionals! Just know that, if you decide to try working with The Creative Group, it will take a bit more time to get matched than if you were to go with a different agency, but this is a good thing! Unlike most recruiters that I've worked with in the past, TCG won't try to sell you on a position that isn't a good fit. However, if they see a good fit for you - even if you don't think you are - they will encourage you to try. That's how they found me the company that I'm working for now, and I LOVE MY JOB... I learn new things everyday, and get to contribute to the incredibly rapid growth of a start-up by bringing in new ideas and marketing practices. I was originally hired with Office Team in 2012 and placed on a 6 week assignment to do general administrative work. At the end of my assignment, the employer asked me if I wanted to stay on and I accepted and became a permanent employee. Now, 2 years later I'm doing very well at the same accounting firm Officeteam originally placed me at: I have started taking accounting classes and going back to school to get my CPA license, and in September I was promoted onto our professional services staff as a bona fide tax accountant. Additionally, I recently passed the IRS Special Enrollment Examination so I am now being recognized to practice as a tax professional. I recently reached out to Rich, the director, letting him know about the positive experience I had and that my girlfriend had recently applied to the agency too. He thanked me for sharing and told me he would make sure her experience with the hiring process went smoothly. I don't have much to base this on, because this was my first and only experience with a staffing agency, but honestly I thought it was incredible. I just moved to SF less than two months ago and was applying for jobs like crazy - probably 20 to 50 a week. I guess I applied to Office Team thinking it was an actual job. They called and asked me to come in for an interview. I did. I had to wait for a little while before the representative came in to meet me, but that's fine. I've had to wait at least a little while for most interviews I've been to, so it didn't bother me. The person I met with wasn't super professional. He seemed like a real person. He seemed general interested in getting me a position. Yes, I know that it is because it would have benefited him in some way, but I could still tell he was going to work hard at it. They called me before I made it home that afternoon with a position at a very fast growing software company. The job was a little monotonous, but the culture was amazing. The company ended up liking me and offering me a permanent salary position doing something quite a bit more challenging. Granted, I'm sure it's very rare for someone's first temp experience to turn into a full-time gig, but even so, I couldn't be happier! Office team did a really good job matching me with a company where I fit in not only in experience but in culture. They even helped to negotiate my salary. Again, I know that there was something in it for them, but still, something that was just supposed to be a way to make money while I looked for a career actually turned into a career - with little effort on my part. I have worked with OfficeTeam on a number of events in the Bay Area, some very large where we needed to hire 30+ temporary staffers over the course of 3 days, and some small that required just 2-3 staff for an evening. OfficeTeam did great work for us in some at-times difficult, high pressure, and last-minute situations. The on-site managers at the larger events took care of all of the staffing oversight - giving them breaks, checking them in and out, managing shift changes - allowing our in-house team to focus on the overall customer experience. Many of the individual temporary staffers that we used were truly great workers and wonderful people that we continue to work with through the OfficeTeam agency. read more

I got my first job assignment in the Bay Area from them. Emily Turner was my recruiter, she is very awesome and take care everything immediately. I also met her team, and all of them are very friendly. (very) Soon after my interview Office Team called me everyday to offer me a job position available. But I was busy traveling, so I had to say sorry I can not make it. I was really worried if they stop contacting and offering me another job (like most likely another staffing agency do).. but Nope, they keep contacting me. Finally I got my first assignment in a very cool government contractor in San Fransisco, and the pay is higher than what I want haha. They pay weekly and always on time. Their general customer service is very good too. I requested a correction for my W2, and they respond me on weekend, that is awesome. Choosing Office Team is the best decision.
