I have been working with Office Team for close to 5 months now and have been in wonderful hands the entire time! I was set up on with a temp to hire position that seemed very promising. It wasn't until close to 3 months into the job things became complicated with the job itself and the people in the company I was employed with but Catherine Burrell made the whole process so much easier. There was a lot of back and forth between my employer, Catherine and myself and she really put the time and effort into making the situation as simple as possible for me. Though I am not taking an offer with my employer I am still working with Catherine toward another career path and am very excited to have her as a contact and a very helpful resource. The recruiters at Robert Half offer no skills or services beyond scamming you into thinking that they are actually providing a service to both employees and employers. Most have little to no understanding of accounting or finance and in my experience little intelligence otherwise. I worked with Virginia Shappy "Division Director". Appreciated the opportunity, but let the manager know of concerns RHI-Novato = completed 3 or 4 short-term assignments in Sausalito, Tiburon, San Rafael during 2000-2004; Next, I was Hired from temping by a good non-profit, but lost it after a few months. Mostly good experiences and a few concerns at that time. Recently (Feb-2012), when I went back, it was a strange experience -- somewhat cold, business like .... for a returning client who completed ALL past assignments over many years and had a good working record. AccounTemps/SF = Used to be in contact with one manager Sean, when I needed 3 vacation replacements at my job during 2006-11. For the first time, I've been contacted by this manager and I plan to give it a fair chance ...... However, checking reviews on Yelp stunned/shocked me for the 15 or 16 ONE(1)-star reviews with many repeat pattern of problems. Has anyone at the top of RHI / Accountemps looked into it ? As job seekers, we have to know that there are 2-sides of the promises/stories = take it with a few table spoons of salt (not just a grain!). Also, be a bit more patient and consistent/persistent. I believe there is significant truth to RECRUITERS coming and going like car salesman ....see it all the time. Also is the growing culture of many younger, less patient and impersonal staff who does not seem to BUILD relationships with clients = this needs fostering trust and friendship like everything in life = many are not prepared for this OR don't have their heart in it. I remember a manager telling me that I should work for them as recruiter because of my personable nature with people !! Of course, I did not get that job too, when I applied in 2005 ! My general recommendation to anyone is this: put only 1 or 2 of your 10 or more "eggs" in theRHI/AccounTemps basket = never stop meetup groups, private networks, the internet, private headhunters, CL, and many other creative resources. I recently began working with Accountemps, and my experience so far has been great! Within 1 week of my initial interview, I had 5 different job offers for entry-level accounting work. It had been difficult for me to find a job on my own. It was hard to find companies who want to hire someone with bachelors degree, but limited experience. Most entry-level accounting or financial analysis job ads that I find want 2-3 years experience, but there is no step below entry-level to build experience (unless you do internships in college). Accountemps has placed me in the best position for me to succeed with the skills that I have, and my willingness to work and become better at my craft. Just an update. Be careful when working with RH or any employment agency. This is my situation. Last year I applied for a couple of positions in different law firms. The initial interview, follow up interview and was then told that they will make a decision in about a week. Well what happened was both firms decided, as told by the phone call I got from the RH rep, that the firms have decided not to go through an agency. I then noticed a few weeks later that the firms had actually posted the job openings on their website. Problem, since RH presented me, I was stuck and could not apply because they have some agreement with the firms that if they hire a candidate on their own or through another agency, that they have to pay RH the fee. RH and other headhunters say the one year limit is there because of the costs and time to recruit, test, etc each candidate. Which is BS. My thing is I keep track on an excel sheet and that way if it is a year later, and I see an opening I interviewed a year ago and that year has expired, I contact the firm directly. Be careful also when RH is asking for reference. Make a point to tell them that "I only give references once a job offer has been presented." RH will use your reference list for business development. It happened to me. Word of advice, if you are on a temp assignment don't plan on getting sick. I was temping through RH and came down with the flu and called in sick. They will question you and make you feel quilty that are not feeling well. REMEMBER: RH only looks out for their client first, themselves second, you are third. To all applicants of RH here is something you need to be aware of. RH will call, as they did to me many times, saying that they have a "potential" temp to perm, or a temporary position. I go into interview and then I never get any feedback from RH. One incident, they wanted to interview another person just in case the other temp that was in the position I was interviewing didn't workout. Never heard anything back regarding that position. Worse yet, now that I interviewed for a "potential" position through RH, another agency contacted me for the same position as it was a temp to perm. So since I interviewed through RH as a "potential" I am barred from interviewing again at the same firm for a year. So I am screwed. So when RH calls you for a "potential" position tell them to get lost. . . because that "potential" position never materializes. Go directly to the website of the firm, or business you want to apply. Also checkout craigslist.com companies will post their openings there. Companies are now trying to cutout the middle man, which is the agencies, and employment firms are now becoming cutthroat. read more

This must be the worst creative agency ever! Creative Group is disaster, dishonest and totally incompetent! I opened an account with them and after have not got any work from them I finally got job elsewhere. Then I contacted with agency after various attempts to close my account and get my profile removed. Apparently there is no way to remove your profile and your data is stored with them forever. I know other designers who have come across the same problem; they don't state that anywhere on their website and totally disregard any data protection laws. Now 3 months later I got a call from agency offering me 3 weeks assignment and were upset if I told them that am not available???Anyone ever wants to deal with this agency be aware, creative group is the worst place to look for job and particularly San Francisco office were people don't want to talk to you, promise to call you back but never call and never reply any of your emails!!! read more

I went to this place right before I finished school back in 2010 it was a waste of time when I left I was pissed off. It was kind of funny when I went and took the tests I found out I had no skills for anything which was crazy because I had a IT job and a degree. They would email me to checkup and it would piss me off. It's like don't get my hopes and then pretty much say you're a talentless hack. Don't waste your time the best thing to do is if they call you hang up in their face unless they tell you they have a job for you. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Robert Half Legal's approach to compensating their attorneys is truly disgusting. The "half" really refers to the half of the paycheck that they steal from you. I was laid off and desperate for a job and I feel that they really took advantage of me during an unfortunate time in my life. They placed me at a "temporary" gig at an hourly rate with a law firm that was so low that I was uncomfortable accepting it. But, the person who placed me talked me into it by telling me that it was a great opportunity and that even if the pay was low, I'd get a raise soon afterward. I ended up in the same "temporary" position for a long time but never got a raise from Robert Half Legal. The supervising attorney at my firm told me that I deserved a raise. He said that he would increase my pay by $5 and ask that Robert Half do the same. Not only did Robert Half refuse to increase my pay by $5 per hour but they took half of the $5 raise I was getting from the firm, resulting in a $2.50 raise for me (paid exclusively by the firm, not Robert Half) instead of a $10 raise. My best piece of advice to anyone considering working with Robert Half Legal is to stay away. read more

He did hook me up with a job right away. But the job was nothing what he told me it would be (it ended up being 200 cold calls to people with bad credit every day and every sat.). I think it's not ethical not to return calls or reply back to emails especially if the AE him/herself said he/she will. I responded to their job postings and was immediately called for screening and for paperwork. I asked about the job postings that they advertised and was told that they were no longer available. This happened on 2 visits with 2 different recruiters and was given the same response. I talked to some of my colleagues who signed up for RH and had the same experiences. All they do is try to get you in the office and waste your valuable time to meet their quotas. I had better luck with a small agency which gave me an assignment to a contract-to-full time position and have since been converted to a permanent status. Im surprised with these 5-star reviews and wonder about several of the filtered ones. My experience, along with several others, are similar and quite the opposite from these wonderful reviews here. I applied for a position I saw on craigslist and got a call not to long after but when I spoke to the person they said the position was filled but wanted to still interview me. I was hesitant but decided it might be beneficial to do it. I arrived on time but had to wait half an hour to be seen. I applied for a job online and received a call back the next day. My resume says I am currently employed with my company but they told me they mainly work with the unemployed. Despite that I was asked several questions such as my hours and current pay. Before I got off the phone I was told 'give me a call back on Monday and we can probably set you up for an interview on Tuesday'. Before I hung up I asked if they could email me more information and the representative said 'yes I'll email it right away'. I never got the email. I called back on Monday and reintroduced myself saying 'I received a call last week'. The rep replied maybe it's not such a good idea to wait till this week". I then explained I was told to call back today and I got transfered. I finally got reconnected with the right person and she said "I thought we had an understanding that you'd call back as soon as (paraphrasing here 'you're unemployed)". I then suggested that she told me to call back on Monday and I was expecting an email but did not receive it. She asked if I checked their website and that I really need to. She finished with 'call them back when I know my schedule (am unemployed). Maybe I caught their staff on a bad day. The followup call I had left me quite irritated. I find the two reps I spoke with extremely rude and feel they can use some work on their customer service. read more

I am writing the review below as a candidate for a job. I would second some of the thoughts above. They stood me up for one of the skype interviews and I had to leave her a voice mail, send her an email and ultimately talk to the receptionist and asked for her Supervisor for her to come on skype for a pre-scheduled interview. All this after they send you an email asking you to dress professional. So, here I am in my suit and tie that I hardly wear, waiting on her in front of the screen for over 25 mins not sure if I am going to have the interview today or not. She was extremely rude and the attitude was more as if she was doing me a favor. The interview ended abruptly when I wasn't comfortable sharing my salary with her even though I told her that I was making slightly more than the number the recruiting firm was looking to pay yet I was comfortable with the number to proceed forward and find out more about the firm/organization, etc. Yesterday, we had discussed that she would send me the job description before the skype interview. She did not send the job description either. She did read over the job description quickly during our first call when we scheduled the skype interview. But when I reminded her about that, during the skype interview, she was like, "Didn't you receive the job description I sent you yesterday?" Short of a black hole in the net sucking up her sent emails, I can't imagine a reason why I would not receive something she sent me, or did she? I also confronted her with the fact that I looked up the position she was interviewing me for and the online ad for the job clearly stated that only applications through the recruiting firm's website will be considered and that no third party or vendors (which Robert Half is) would be entertained. In other words, they were interviewing me for a position that they may not have had a contract for. Of course, I am not sure how much of my directly confronting her with this had to do with the 5 minute interview after standing me up for 25 mins. She did tell me that they were working with the firm. This point could be extremely dishonest on their part, or just a mistake. But the perception is definitely not good for them. I hope they are not wasting other people's time by building/harvesting this whole database of candidates, under the pretext of fake job potential and then turning around to the clients, boasting about how big a database of suitable candidates they have for the clients to pick from. In other words, showing the clients that they are more valuable to the client. If that is the case, I condemn this practice as extremely unethical. I have been in Management tier and I have hired people. One of the first rules is to make the candidate comfortable. Certainly, not what Lisa did. Personally, I think that their client is the one that is losing out due to the utter unprofessional representation. It is ok if this is a one off. If I was running this shop, I would try to imbibe the sense that they are serving two clients - the recruiting firm as well as the candidate. It takes both parties to come together for them to make any money. Anyways, I am pretty sure that if I am in a position to hire new candidates, I am not going to go to them, even if they do it for free. In addition, I also attended an IIA luncheon recently and I also heard there that clients are not happy with Robert Half. I wish all candidates better luck if you get a call from a Robert Half rep. read more

My experience with Robert Half has been very disapponting with 2 of the financial services recruiters. Several jobs were advertised for which I was well qualified. One recruiter said she'd send my resume 'right over to the hiring manager'. When I called 2 days later to follow up with her, she said 'oh yeah, I need to send your resume'. Emails and phone calls are never returned. The 2 women I dealt with seemed distracted, unprofessional and frankly in over their heads. I guess sometimes they advertise positions on Indeed or other job sites before they actually have a signed contract with a Company. Unfortunately, neither young lady was forthright about this and made the jobs seem like done deals. I think Robert Half needs to train their people better and stress that these are people's livelihoods their dealing with. They also need to train on proper business communication etiquette. It takes 1 minute to send an email to a candidate which states: "your resume was submitted" or "employer went with another candidate". Instead, crickets. I applied for 5 jobs with these 2 recruiters over a 2 month period and nothing has materialized. You need to take a lesson from a recruiter at K-Force with whom I dealt. She returned phone calls and emails, met commitments she made to send information and did 1 sentence emails to keep me apprised. That's the level of professionalism I expected from Robert Half. I just graduated from nursing school and had some lag time between taking my licensure exam and overcoming the bigger hurdle of finding a job as a registered nurse with NO experience in the Bay Area. I found some job listings posted by Officeteam and reached out to them. I was responded to promptly by people who I believed genuinely wanted to help me find a job that was a right fit for both me and the employer. Chelsea Merchan, one of the recruiting managers at Officeteam, aided me in my job hunt tremendously and conducted all of our interactions with professionalism and kindness. She helped prepare me for interviews and knew how to make me stand out as a candidate for a job. With Officeteam's help, I was able to find a healthcare-related job with a great company that I stayed at until I found a job as registered nurse. It was a great experience and I'm very grateful for Officeteam's efforts in helping me. read more

What a joke these people are. The interview with Lulu was spent hearing more about her than her finding out about me. She bragged about her experience and skills endlessly. She said she was impressed with my experience and skills and was sure she would be successful in placing me. I had one phone call with a possible assignment and never heard from her again about this assignment or any other. A follow up contact went unanswered. At a recent "CAP" event in their offices Lulu and Renee were all over some of the people there (all of the attendees were signed up with them) and they completely ignored others. It should have been obvious from the event on March 26 that they choose who they will work with and they will lie to and ignore those they choose not to work with. If you've signed up with this office and are not hearing back from them, don't hold your breath, keep looking. read more

I have to write this review, so you know my story. This agency is useless, the rates are very low. They will offer a marketing manager position with five years of experience for $22/hr. They also don't effectively speak to the employer about their budget. I had a job offer with a determined company and even went through with the HR department about benefits, things seemed settled, then I was not hearing from them again. Later, I emailed since nobody was contacting me then I find out the employer withdraw the offer because they did not have enough budget for such position. How does this happens? Another time they sent me to interviews having little to almost no information about the job description. Other times the employer would constantly changed their mind about the job responsibilities. I was sent to an interview where the Html/Css skill was referred to as a bonus. The entire three interviews I had with them, they drilled me on my coding skills and made sure to let me know that HTML/CSS was the most important thing that they were looking for that role. Terrible, terrible experience! They continuously keep calling me for offers. I applied for a few, prepared myself for and never received a phone call, or an email saying, hey I am sorry but they decided on another candidate. Things that you normally expect from any company. One of the jobs offers I even had to do a project for an advertisement company. I created a campaign for an ad company called crushpath, I am usually not a big fan of companies sending me homework before I even talk to them over the phone. Overall, unprofessional, they treat candidates here like they are a joke and have nothing else better to do. I would stay away if you are looking for professional recruiters. This company sounds like a bunch of kids out of college who just got their very first job as recruiters. read more

Grossly unprofessional and negative experience. I first registered with OT while responding to a great ad for EA to a CEO. When I met with the Perm recruiter, she informed me that job was "on hold". She also had NO others at the moment. She introduced me to the temp recruiter who showed me the 'war room' where they call around to drum up business. I don't know how successful they were in that room but it looked like your typical telemarketing dept. and if they're drumming up jobs, why don't they have any to offer? I did finally get one job after calling their office. The Healthcare temp recruiter had a job at the VA Hospital. She filled it, with me, at the 11th hour on a Friday. It was to last months, until the role was posted and hired in permanently. Although nothing was ever put in writing about the length of the job, this recruiter was adamant that I NOT go on interviews while working the assignment, despite the verbiage on "continuing your search outside of OT while working as an OT temp" in their 'Welcome' brochure. What else didn't she tell me? Oh, the address I was going to. I had to Google it. And, that I would be given a bushel of security paperwork to complete and would be fingerprinted. The job? Poorly vetted. I spent three days sitting around while the outgoing exec. asst. cleaned her drawers and file cabinet and suggested I bring a book. On day 4, they decided I wasn't right for the role because I had no prior experience working with the VA. (I was actually hired to work with the UCSF hospital side of things but they are inexorably intertwined). No loss. The environment was claustrophobic and institutional. Office Team? Part of their payroll must be going to people who come here to write good reviews. I've seen, heard, and experienced too much negative to believe they actually earned above 2 stars....ever. I felt that this agency is much like the other agencies where they want you to fill out the application and come in for an interview, then mention that they have something that they are working on, only to find that it's the same story they tell over and over again when I follow up. So not good to work with. Be careful. They not only pay less but also the client they set you up with can't be trusted. If you think you will be hired make sure you have clear idea about that. Otherwise you will be wasting your time and energies. They can definitely let you go without regret even if you are hardworking. I went in for an interview with this company, but realized that they mandate you wave your right to a jury trial off the bat. You have to go through a specific adjudication organization if you ever have an issue with this company. I saw that clause in the contract and a red flag went off. I also worked with office team before and a woman by the name of bridget asked for my resume and the possibility of an interview, but she never got back to me once I sent it along with my references. I imagine she is spamming my references. Robert half sounds like one in the same. read more

met several staff members of creative group at a small networking event hosted by them, chatted with them (they were very friendly), exchanged business cards, followed up with email introductions and my very solid marketing/branding resume, and never a single email reply from anyone, even after discussing coming by their office for introductory interview. given that they have an office in downtown SF and are with robert half, i assumed they would be better than the dozens of random agencies i get emailed contacted by each month, but apparently not. read more

I temped for almost a year before landing the current job I'm at, and most of that work was done with Office Team. The team there is very good about getting you assignments, often several to choose from, and tries hard to find ones to match requests you've made. I've worked with Kirsten, Isobel, and Jackie, and all very nice, and often contacted me to check in while I was on assignment and see how things were going. As long as you keep up your end of the bargain and aren't a total flake, they'll work for you. Do be advised that while they do their best to find temp-to-hire assigments for you, such assignments are hard to find. Many companies will have you start off with them with the possibility of hiring full time, but will decide to hire someone else ultimately, because as at any agency, a company has to pay the agency a fee if they hire a temp found for them. All in all, Office Team is great. They have a good benefits package you can opt into, treated me well, and if I need to temp again in the future, I'll be returning to them.! read more
