Dr. Robert Butler & Dr. Michelle Grimes will never be recommended by me, my pediatric doctor, my insurance or my family and friends. TO ANYONE FOR ANYTHING. Jan. 25th my son had a surgery that Dr. Bulter assured me was at no risk to my son at his age of 3 1/2. The 4 procedures he underwent was a tonsillectomy, adenoid removal, ear tubes, and one that I had never heard of before, turbinate reduction. It is where the nasal turbinates are reduced in size to open the nasal airways to insure better breathing and to stop his snoring. We went ahead with the surgery. Post op, right after, my son had a couple nose bleeds the following days. Even right after waking up out of anesthesia. We were told everything was normal and we were sent home for recovery. Feb. 4th, my son woke up with a very aggressive nose bleed that actually led out of his mouth and into his stomach. He vomited and bled out huge blood clots and we immediately went to the Schertz Baptist hospital and they ultimately decided it was just from a nose bleed that was caused by the dry weather. That exact moment we were in the hospital I called Dr. Bulters office and was sent to a voice messaging system where I left a message stating where we were and that my son was activity bleeding. I got no response and was actually told by Dr. Butler and his office manager Rexanne, that they never received a calll or message. I have my logs to prove otherwise. Feb 8th my son was scheduled for a follow up appointment from his prior surgery with Dr. Butler. We did not see Dr. Butler himself, we ended up seeing his PA Dr. Grimes. I mentioned to her my concerns about the nose bleeds he has been experiencing as well as blood coming out of his mouth and vomited. I even showed her pictured of said blood and clots he had been passing. She even stated TO MY FACE, that she saw dried blood in his ears, nose and back of his throat, and that he looked very pale. She said we should get his hemoglobin checked with his pediatrician as she didn't want to do it then because she didn't want to prick him with needle. Why an office like this doesnt have the equipment to finger prick for hemoglobin is beyond me. after seeking my pediatricians advice after the hemoglobin came back at an 8 when it should be at 15, we went to the hospital for more labs and went home. My son then started pouring blood from his face, nose, and mouth. Then collapsed in my home. He lost 500 mls of blood in 20 mins. He was rushed by ambulance to Northcentral hospital where they said his blood count was at 5 and he needed immediate blood transfusion and emergency surgery. The Hospital Ent said there was an exposed artery that was slowly bleeding out and throwing clots. If we didn't come when we did, he would have died. He then spent 3 days in the ICU being monitored. Whether or not Dr. Butler made a surgical mistake, he and Dr. GRimes ignored my concerns and the office ignored my calls. They are now stating they don't have records of me calling or leaving messages. Dr. Grimes is now denying she saw blood on my son. These two medical professionals have failed my son and my family and have been reported to the medical board as I have spoken to many other professionals who claim negligence was had. Also the Ent who saved my son stated he would have NEVER done this turbinate surgery on a child under the age of 6. Aswell as another allergen surgeon. I wish there was an option for 0 stars. I hope and pray this never happens to another patient or family as we are forever traumatized read more
