Dr. Kahn is an excellent ENT. He does not rush, he listens and he answers questions. When you go in with an issue, he works diligently and investigates numerous potential issues. When you leave you feel that Dr Kahn has investigated each option and gives the proper diagnosis. Previously I have goine to a GP and received the wrong diagnosis. When i then went to Dr Kahn, he would find the real issue and provide a plan to get me well. I no longer waste my time at the GP and I go straight to Dr Kahn. He nurse is also excellent, thoughtfull, and takes here time to ask the right questions. Ashley the Audiologist is outstanding and finally programed my hearing aids properly after numberous attempts but other Audiologists. Office is personalble and great to work with. read more

I would not recommend Mr. Kahn. I came in for ear wax removal and left with ringing in my ear. The tool he used was so loud it damaged my ear and caused tinnitus. I told him it was too loud and he didn't seem to care. He does come across as arrogant. He walks in the room and just looks at me and doesn't say anything. Dr. Kahn has "been there" for us, once again. In 2015, he went above and beyond to help expedite getting me in for ear surgery that I needed. Today, my 8-year-old son lodged a craft bead into his ear canal. Neither Urgent Care nor the ER could help. Dr. Kahn found a way with his already fully-booked schedule for the day to get us in. Within minutes, he had the bead removed and checked to ensure there was no damage to the eardrum, putting us all at ease. Not only is Dr. Kahn incredible as an ENT, but he's caring, compassionate, and has a great sense of humor. We are so grateful for Dr. Kahn and his wonderful office staff, too! They were all just so amazing in this urgent time for our little guy... who will not be lodging objects into his ears again, I hope! I wouldn't recommend this location to even my worse enemy. My experience here was the worst experience I've ever had. It was uncomfortable, unhelpful, a waste of time and money, and disrespectful to me as a patient. I made a first time appointment with Dr. Kahn because I've always had difficulty breathing basically all my life and constantly getting sinus infections. I wanted to figure out what the underlying issue was. I was called to the room, Dr. Kahn came in as well as 3 other women. 1 was shadowing the doctor, and the other 2 were taking notes of the visit. It was very awkward to have 4 people in a room while I talked about my breathing problems, which is something that I've always been insecure about. Dr. Kahn did nothing to ease me or make me feel comfortable. If anything, he made the situation worse. He was very cold and made me feel like I was being interrogated by the way he talked to me and asked my question. You would think as a doctor, if you had all these extra people come into the room for a new client, you would do what you can to make your patient feel comfortable. He downplayed all my symptoms and simply blamed it on allergies. I told him I believed that I had a deviated septum and could be part of the problem. He agreed and said I did in fact have a deviated septum but did not provide me with any options on what can be done about this. He recommended that I use nasal spray and see how that works first. He recommended 2 different nasal sprays and implied that I could get this over the counter but there were also prescription options that I can get. I asked for the prescription option because I figured they would be better. He then proceeded to say that the over the counter option would probably be cheaper than the prescription option. I don't see how he would have known that since everyone's insurances are different. And my insurance has great coverage for medication. I told him I wanted the prescription anyway. He then showed me 2 similar options of the prescription and said that the first option was the one that he really likes, but prescribed me the second option because it's cheaper. Rather than asking which I prefer. I would have preferred the option that he favored. He made it seem like I could not afford to pay for the prescriptions. He did nothing to help with my sinus problem. I paid a $95 copay just for him to basically be very rude and tell me to use Flonase. I will be going to another ENT doctor and will not ever come to this location or ever see Dr Kahn again. I read numerous reviews because I wanted to really get this issue taken care of. I read good things about Dr Kahn so that's why I decided to make an appointment with him. Unfortunately that was not the case. I would advise to go to another doctor. Please do not ask me to contact you about my negative experience as I do not wish to do any further business with this establishment moving forward. You can start by providing me with a refund of my copay if you really want to try and make it right. read more

I was referred to Dr. Kahn by my physical therapist. After being intubated I suffered greatly from acid reflux (LPR), vocal cord dysfunction, and excruciating jaw problems. The vocal cord dysfunction was truly upsetting. Vocal cord dysfunction is this; you try to breath and your vocal cords close as you are trying to breathe air in, instead of remaining open. It's actually a very upsetting /frightening experience where the mind automatically kicks in the flight or flight response. This was happening to me all day and night! I was a mess. Dr. Kahn was completely unsympathetic to my situation, offered nothing in the way of medical advice or care except to "change the way I think about it with some Cogintive Behavior Therapy". Really? No amount of CBT is going to help me control the body's automatic flight or fight response. I think Dr. Kahn needs to take some CBT in how he reacts to female patients who are emotionally upset. I left his office with nothing to improve my awful breathing situation, wishing that someday he had the pleasure of experiencing Vocal Cord Dysfunction, and got in my car where I immediately called another ENT's office and made an appointment. Thankfully that ENT was able to give me medical care which improved my situation. read more

Seems like a very solid ENT. When my strep journey led me to possibly consider a tonsillectomy, he was friendly and not intimidating and willing to answer my multitude of questions both in the office and over the phone. In a profession where other Dr.'s have been a bit cold, Dr. Kahn brings a great bedside manner to the table. Dr. Kahn was awful! He was insulting and rude. I have Ménière's disease and auditory processing disorder, so I went to him for an accommodation letter for a new job. He didn't know what DARS/VOC rehab is (okay, fine, whatever). Doesn't think hearing loss is a disability (wtf?). He thought that I was lying to my employer by not disclosing my disabilities (told him I did). He changed that to they won't hire me if he writes the letter (told him that I was already hired). He changed that to they don't have to accommodate me (ADA says they do). He changed that to my hearing is fine and insinuated that it was all in my head. He finally said that to he'll spend a long time reading through all my paperwork and write the letter, but it's still all in my head and I should see someone because of all the other medical stuff I have going on. I also had to deal with a paperwork mixup regarding my birthday, wasn't seen until 45 minutes after my appointment time, and was late to work. read more

Dr Kahn's office wasn't clean and tools were left out during the COVID pandemic, and I subsequently became ill. The issue I was having was getting better, but Kahn didn't deign to respond to my refill request which I made several days in a row so my issue resurfaced. When he did finally return to the office, he denied by request for refill to try to solve my problem, preferring instead to milk me for another appointment. His attitude during the appointment was condescending and he didn't appear to care that I was in pain nor consult me properly. read more

Dr. Kahn is amazing. I was so anxious about having my tonsils out but the whole experience went great, and I think it is because of him! He was very calm, answered all my questions, and really spent a lot of time with me. I developed, of all things, a plantar wart in my ear canal that, needless to say, cause severe discomfort, pain, and repeated infection. After reading the reviews on yelp for Dr. Jeffrey Kahn, I wanted to make an appointment with him, but his schedule was booked solid for weeks so I first visited Dr. Cheung-Phillips at Comprehensive ENT. This has been a true experience in the NECESSITY of second opinions on specialized medical pathologies! The experience I have had as a patient of Dr. Kahn is truly one of professionalism and courtesy. At Comprehensive ENT I was told that I needed a CT scan, after which the prognosis was surgical excision. At that time the painful growth in my ear was still an unknown. When I first met with Dr. Kahn, he examined my ear in a very thorough way and discovered that the largest, most evident growth was only one of three lesions. At Austin ENT's North office, Dr. Kahn has video screens on which he showed me exactly what he was seeing, and what he thought it may be. It was apparent to him, that a biopsy was needed, and he told me right then that he may not be the doctor to treat me. This, I think, is the mark of a physician who bears in mind the best interests of his/her patient. As it turns out, Dr. Kahn did perform the excision of the largest mass, but he has now referred me to a dermatologist colleague of his for longer-term treatment, and I will continue to visit Dr. Kahn over the next year to ensure the stabilization of my ear canal's health. As a son of a father in the medical profession, and having grown up in hospital settings as a patient of highly trained physicians, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Kahn. Dr. Kahn was awesome! I've been having several issues concerning my sinus's and allergies and needed a second opinion on whether or not I should continue with surgery per my regular ENT's orders. Dr. Kahn was very thorough and made sure to look over every single detail of my past medical records to make sure he was giving me an accurate and honest opinion. At the end of our appointment, he gave me several options on treating me and made sure to point out which ones he felt would work best for me personally. I highly recommend him! The only issue I had with his office was the nurse who was taking preliminary information from me. I felt like she was in a rush and kept cutting me off when I tried to tell her the kind of medications I was on. Thought it might be important for them to know! Guess not. She was incredibly rude but the rest of the time spent in the office was decent and I was pleased with how easy it was to work with Dr. Kahn in deciding what actions to take next. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Austin ENT. I was having reoccurring sinus problems for several years when I first saw Dr. Kahn. Dr. Kahn was very thorough in the treatment of my son's chronic sinusitis. We did end up going the route of surgery, but it was not a hasty decision. I appreciated his attention to detail and looking at other possible solutions. Jeffrey Kahn is the greatest ENT doctor that I've ever seen. ENT doctors I met in the north Austin area disappointed me a lot. I have few problems with my nose and throat such as sinus infection or post nosal drip. A lot of them even didn't examine me. they just listened my story and prescribed. I've noticed that how wrong did they diagnose me after meeting Dr Jeffry Kahn. I've just put on a lot of antibiotics or steroids from another doctors for no reason. Dr Khan diagnosed me very well with tools whenever I visited him and always told me what's the real problem. I'm so glad that I could meet him. read more

He has a terrific bedside manner (or whatever you say for an ENT), and he has never failed to properly diagnose and quickly and effectively treat any ailment -- and I've had many ailments. He asks good questions and never rushes through visits. He also presents multiple options for treatment and is always quick to cite current research for anything I haven't considered before. He also suggests which treatment he recommends and will discuss any option you have questions about. He also treated my infant son and did so compassionately and effectively. Dr. Kahn is the best. If it was appropriate to send your doctor a thank you note, I would. I pretty much went to the ENT, kicking and screaming. When I hadn't heard out of my left ear in over 5-months, and multiple attempts to just get it "fixed" quickly by just visiting the Minute Clinic in the CVS Pharmacy weren't working, I finally saw a primary care physician that referred me to Austin's ENTs. That led me to Dr. Kahn. His bedside manner is warm, friendly, attentive, and caring. He thoroughly examined my ear, prescribed me something to try to clear up an infection, then insisted that I return in 10 days (as I think he could tell, I wasn't keen on doctor's visits and would rather take the prescription and run). He was just as attentive on my follow-up visit, and properly diagnosed my condition. It's a serious issue that will require surgery. If every doctor's office waiting area was as clean as this one (no sick people making me want to sprint through the exit) and every doctor was as engaged with their patients and competent at evaluating patients as Dr. Kahn, the routine dr visit experience would be less dreadful for all. My son has sinus problem and clogged nose all the time. I was hoping he could give him a facial X-ray and some suggestions for a surgery as a specialist. But Doctor Kahn only gave us some suggestions about allergy and also got some sample for a lab's bacteria analysis which is not necessary. They should have known I am on high deductible plan and should tell me how much it would cost before charge it. When I came out, I paid over $300 bucks for nothing. On Fall of 2012 I needed the help of a ENT to perform a turbinate reduction or surgical remval removal of my turbinates. I was having problems breathing at night and suffered with much congestion. I was evaluated by 2 other ENT's until one of my Doctor's recommended and referred me to Dr. Jeffrey Kahn. He is one of the few Doctor's who had the skills to perform a Turbinate Reduction with the use of Radio Frequency energy. Dr. Kahan gave me the option to have this procedure done in a surgical center or his office. I chose to have the procedure in his office. This RF turbinate reduction and saved much time and money. He has great communication skills and very talented in a procedure to reduce my turbinates in a office procefure. I was home and working that afternoon. I highly recommend Dr. Kahan to anyone who is suffers from cronic breathing, congestion or sleep issues. I wonly wish this procedure was available to me when I was in my teen's. Since I had the procedure I now breathe much easier and can actually get quality sleep. No this does not cure those Austin allergies, but I can actually blow my nose and clear my nasel passage. This is great news for anyone who tries to blow nose and the congestion is so bad that you can't. 8 years ago I went for a sleep study. The doctor diagnosed me with obstructive sleep apnea and referred me to Dr. Kahn. I went to his office, was taken back and asked a medical history by the nurse and I answered honestly. She left and after a while Dr. Kahn came into the room in a huff. He had the medical questionnaire in his hand. He sat down and said "exactly why are you here?". He had a very rude and dismissive tone. I told him I'd been referred by my sleep doctor and explained the situation. He then asked why I said all this other stuff was wrong with me while waving the paper around. I told him I was just answering her questions. He took me into another room to put a scope down my nose. Without much warning or explanation of what he was doing he very roughly sprayed the numbing stuff in my nose which I choked on. After he saw how large my tonsils and adenoids were he finally stopped being so rude. However, I was upset already from the way he had spoken to me and treated me. I was crying but trying to hide it. He noticed it and demanded to know why I was crying and when I said why he denied it. Then he laid out the surgery plan. I left and balled my eyes out in the car and never went back or to any other ENT because of this experience. That is until now because my apnea is even worse now and I can't take it any longer. Luckily the doctor I found this time is much kinder. The only reason I hadn't put up a review sooner is because I didn't do Yelp back then if it was around and I eventually forgot his name but now I've got my records from the sleep doctor and know his name again. After seeing two other people who have had similar experiences here I decided to put the review up. He treated me as if I was lying and trying to get something. He was dismissive and rude and unkind. What on earth would I have been trying to get? I was 26 years old and scared and he was terrible to me. read more
