The bathhouse was clean and had hot water. Most campsites only have lukewarm or cold water. There were also an abundance of toilet facilities and they were well maintained/cleaned. The view of the Potomac was breathtaking and the only downfall was that the camping sites are relatively close to each other both on the mountain and at the river's edge. I do recommend this center, however, and we will likely return when back in the area!

It was nice being dropped off and picked up. We did have issues with our card online, but when I called in to book, Nancy was helpful. She got us all situated and sent an email to confirm. We filled out waivers online which was a breeze. We watched a quick safety video, picked up our lifevest and were on our way. The water was the perfect temp, and it was clear. Tips: bring snacks and water. You are out there 4-5 or longer hours. Especially if the water is low, which ours was. We used a waterproof bag and had no issues. We used a tube with a cup holder which was nice. I wore my life vest out of precaution even though I can swim, plus it made it comfortable for my to use it as a neck rest. I've noticed people mention in previous reviews that the bus was dirty ect. Um, you're in the woods. If you get picked up after many other groups the bus will be dirty as everyone is wet coming out of the water no matter what activity you choose. I would not own a brand spanking new vehicle for this type of environment and job. Used is best and saves money I'm sure. Wear a hat and sunglasses, put in that sunscreen. Bring a waterproof phone case/bag. You will have no service out there so put it on airplane mode and use it as a camera.

We rented a home right on the Chesapeake and i couldn't find anywhere that would deliver kayaks and stand up paddle boards to me until i found Capital SUP. Kevin was terrific he drove up in a big van took out 3 beautiful clean colorful tandem kayaks and carried them far down to our dock with life jackets and paddles. We had so much fun in and out of the water with our families. ...and did I say the price was so much better than going anywhere and renting even for the day. It was a great combination for both the kids and adults. The inflatable waterpark kept the kids busy for the entire session. El Jefe, the large slide, and Thor, the climbing tower and slide, were our favorites. I strongly recommend booking one of the first sessions during the summer. We went early when it was less crowded, and it became noticeably busier later. In the afternoon, we completed the green and blue aerial trails. Both were a lot of fun, and the progression from one to the next worked well. Overall, River Riders is an excellent choice for families or groups looking for an active full day near Harpers Ferry.

When participants were pinned against rocks or stranded in strong currents, there was no staff to assist. ​Inadequate Instruction & Extreme Strain: Relying solely on arm paddling through boulder gardens offers minimal control and quickly causes physical exhaustion, even for fit individuals. ​Equipment Failures: Some tubes were punctured by sharp rocks, leaving guests stranded in turbulent water with no emergency extraction protocol. Commercial river outfitters have a basic duty of care to provide essential protective gear, clear instruction, and active supervision. I strongly advise making sure these safety practices are in place before booking unless you have experience and are comfortable without the precautions.

Justin and Jasmine made sure we stayed hydrated, and regularly brought us into the air conditioning to avoid overheating. They ensured our safety every moment we were there. The rope course was insanely fun, the giant swing and zip line were a blast and our favorite part was honestly the rock climbing! I didn't want to seem rude and make people self conscious by taking pictures with them in it, specially when in bathing suits and lots of young children. With that said, this outdoor pool is beautiful! The parking space is ample. So many places to park. The surrounding area is covered by trees and other outdoor activities including a baseball diamond/field and a very nice skate park. Upon entering, there is a small fee to get in daily. I believe residents receive discount to and there are passes available. As soon as we entered the swimming area, I was really impressed! Plenty of spaces to sit. In the shade, sun, a bit further away, many options. There is a shallow pool with lots of fun activities and slides for the young kids. That pool is 1FT deep and it's perfect for families. There's another pool with a basketball game another cool slide and zip tie pool plunge. On the far right there's an area with the long, tall slides ! These are new and look so fun. A bit further behind is a lap pool with diving boards. Unfortunately we came on a day with poor air quality and they had to close early. But we did enjoy 2 hours worth of swimming. There is an additional indoor pool and we were encouraged to swim there. We decided to go home. There's a confession stand that we didn't get to try and I haven't seen the fitness center yet. I honestly can't wait to come back, best pool in the area. Not too packed, big, fun, plenty to do. Loved !

There was a camp with hundreds and hundreds of children running around. They didn't all listen to the lifeguards. There were no chairs available -- that's on us, we should have come at opening, but it was wildly overcrowded and then another camp with even younger children arrived. My kids are young teen/tween age and excellent swimmers but it's more crowded than a Great Wolf Lodge on a holiday with a lot less supervision. I felt awful for the lifeguards. We'll likely come back on a weekend because the facilities are great but the amount of children vs adults/older teens is honestly hard to imagine and felt very stressful.

Most people know Adventure Links for their popular camp programs for children and teens. However, they also offer stellar corporate team building programs, which is how I got to know them. About five years ago, as the CEO of a growing company of 20 professionals, I was struggling with how to address some growing pains and spice up our upcoming quarterly retreat. A friend recommended Adventure Links, so I scheduled a meeting with Anna, the CEO. Anna came to my office and interviewed me to understand my business, our challenges, and what I hoped to accomplish. She asked many questions, listened, and took notes. The next week, we took our team of 20 to their retreat location. Anna and her team had put together an all-day agenda of activities that went way beyond simple ropes courses. What surprised and "sold" me on them was how she'd managed to incorporate our growing pains into her exercises in meaningful ways. Sure, we had fun and bonded, but more importantly most of us began to see certain everyday problems in meaningful new ways, with fresh solutions. To this day our team references those exercises like old Seinfeld episodes. After each exercise - some physically challenging and all mentally challenging - Anna would bring us together and help us draw correlations to some of our corporate issues. It helped that she has a sharp wit and great sense of humor. She and her team also knew when to push and put us on the spot to drive home a point. Six months later, we wanted to bring Adventure Links back for another quarterly retreat, but this time due to bad weather we had to do the exercises in our office. They totally pulled it off! The indoor exercises were unique and again gave us a fresh perspective on both issues and people. An example - during one intense exercise where we split into two teams, a junior staff person had a "eureka!" moment with a brilliant solution to a problem, and spontaneously took control of our team, which included several executives. I had no idea this young lady was so intellectually gifted and capable of leadership under pressure. How valuable is that information for an employer? My firm has engaged Adventure Links several times since then, all with success. When my children are old enough, I'll be sending them to the Adventure Links camps...I know they'll learn and have fun.
