I was extremely overcorrected, had severe pain,…read morecouldn't see well enough to drive at night, and my quality of life was a mess for 8 months and I'm still dealing with the repercussions a year later. I did months of follow ups, where Dr. Katsef kept saying, "I have no idea why this happened." and "Wow, you're taking this really well." My vision finally settled around 8 months later, at a more 'normal' but still high overcorrection, where Dr Katsef requested doing a second surgery under the same conditions, without understanding what went wrong the first time. I went to other LASIK Drs to consult on my situation, and learned that this isn't uncommon for his office and his equipment. Now, instead of taking his offer of a corrective surgery I am going elsewhere with better technology to avoid risking another 6 months of pain and bad vision. Don't get me wrong, touch-ups after LASIK aren't uncommon, but this was something much worse to the point where I would rather pay someone else for a second surgery, which is not cheap, then come back here for free. Katsef's office initially approved and then denied my request for a refund, pivoting to now tell me that my experience was actually within the expected outcomes of his surgery.
