Second, he gave me no advise about macular degeneration though my records clearly indicated that I had the dry version. Third, years later, last month when I made an appointment to address the blob-like floaters that continue to drift across that eye, he was so behind with appointments (over an hour) that I fnally had to leave. He performed laser surgery to correct an astigmatism in the same eye and at the same time as the cataract surgery. The surgery was quick, highly successful and I experienced almost no pain in in surgery or during the following week after surgery. The morning after surgery I was seeing very clearly out of my right eye. I'm returning for laser / cataract surgery on my left eye, with the confidence of knowing I can trust Dr Fante and can expect wonderful results. I first saw Dr Fante several years ago for a condition that was extremely rare and hard to diagnose. Dr Fante was extremely helpful in the process of diagnosing the cause of the eye symptoms, which included temporary blindness in one eye over the course of several months. Dr Fante followed my case through by referring me to other doctors who helped determine the exact cause of my problem. The final result was 100% restoration of my 20/20 vision. The office staff and medical technicians are all very professional and friendly at Sansum Clinic (now Sutter Health).

I have had no trouble with either her staff or with scheduling. Also, some complaints are very outdated (over 6-7 years ago). For instance, I've been her patient for a few years and never had to come to any downtown office. She appears to be working more fully at the Sansum Foothills location near Hwy 154. She is competent, professional, and is giving me very good care. (I have narrow-angles, am a "glaucoma suspect", and she gave me an iridotomy in each eye, a quick and painless procedure, to help with drainage). Santa Barbara is fortunate to have a doctor with her level of expertise to help those of us in the community who need such eye care.

They will put their own lenses on the Oakley's you bring BUT they don't tell you that Oakley doesn't allow any other lenses but Oakley to be used in their frames, it nulls the warranty and no authorized Oakley reseller optometrist will touch them after those lenses are put in or they'll lose they're license to sell Oakley's. When they were confronted with this, their response was that they'll gladly put new lenses in if I came in and paid for a new eye exam and pay for new lenses. So you're telling me you messed up and you won't fix your screw up without collecting more money. Lastly, they also lie about what your insurance covers. My insurance covers the eye exam but they lied and charged hundreds for the first exam that my insurance actually would have fully covered! Santa Barbara was never a place I'd expect to be ripped off, for such a "prestigious" city. Can't wait for the city to get through with their unethical business practices! Zero stars should be an option for Yelp reviews.
