Something tells me that since this is the only laundromat in Leelanau county they can hike up their prices but I don't think that's right. Most people who come here are retired or unable to have the accessibility to their own washer and dryer. I hope this new ownership doesn't keep raising prices, I won't be able to afford to come here anymore.

This year was no different and my suit ( and I) were both soaking wet when done. As I now live in a new location I needed to find a new place to get it cleaned. My neighbor suggested DeJardin cleaners in Sturgeon Bay, so I went there. Today I went in to pick up my suit, and not only had it been expertly cleaned and de-fuzzed, they did it for no charge. They have an internal policy that says if you play Santa, they will clean the suit for free! What a wonderful surprise and nice gesture to help make kids happy! I had three pairs of pants to be shortened so she told me there was a five dollar alteration charge and I needed an appointment. There was nobody in the store and no one around other than her and me. She measured my pants and when I took them to the counter, she told me it would be five weeks to get the pants back. I told her that wouldn't work because we were leaving for out of town in two weeks. She told me they could expedite it for $35 per pair of pants on top of the $30 per pair of pants to shorten. Since my time schedule didn't work with hers, I said I would forget the shortening. I had to still pay the five dollars and then she proceeded to take the pins out of the pants because she said she needed her pins back. What a total rip off. I will never go back to this place again. Maybe this is how they paid for their dry cleaning machine.
