I was…read morepeacefully soaking in the bathtub when the water began to swirl, the porcelain groaned, and I was swept away into the mysterious tropical wilderness of Disney World. There, I encountered a peculiar spirit who led me directly to the wave pool. A tremendous wave crashed over me, releasing the spirit from my body--and, in a touching gesture of supernatural gratitude, he purchased me a cup of Dippin' Dots. In all seriousness, Typhoon Lagoon is one of my favorite water parks. The wave pool is fantastic, and Castaway Creek--the lazy river--is wonderfully relaxing. There are plenty of rides for thrill-seekers, while the entire park is beautifully themed around the aftermath of a tropical storm. Even the walking paths are thoughtfully designed, with little water sprayers keeping the pavement damp so your feet don't feel as though they're marching across the surface of the sun. There are plenty of dining and drinking options throughout the park, and the atmosphere is cheerful, immersive, and unmistakably Disney. The after-hours event is also a tremendous amount of fun, especially with the park illuminated at night. Seeing the slides, palm trees, wave pool, and storm-tossed scenery glowing after sunset gives the place an entirely different personality--almost as if the typhoon itself has returned from beyond the grave. Whether you want to relax, ride some excellent attractions, float along the lazy river, or be spiritually cleansed by a six-foot wave before receiving complimentary Dippin' Dots from a benevolent ghost, Typhoon Lagoon is well worth visiting.

The wave pool was hands down the coolest feature. Watching those giant waves roll in was so much fun and unlike any other wave pool I've experienced. I could have spent hours just hanging out there. The lazy river was nice and relaxing, but be prepared to exercise a little patience if you're hoping to grab a tube since they can be in high demand throughout the day. Pro tip: get there right at opening if you want to snag a lounge chair. They go quickly, especially on busy days. Another perk? Disney provides as many towels as you need, which was a nice touch and one less thing to worry about packing. Overall, Typhoon Lagoon is a great way to cool off, relax, and have some Disney fun.

Despite a rainy afternoon…read morethat caused more than half the park to clear out, we stayed, the weather passed, and we ended up having a great time. The park itself is fun, clean, and once the rain stopped the lines were much shorter. I was also happy to see that the hot water in the showers was finally working again. The last few times we visited there was no hot water, so that was a nice improvement. One area that really needs attention is the bee problem. They were everywhere. My daughter was stung, although I do want to give a huge thank you to the First Aid team. After I removed the stinger, they quickly brought numbing medication and ice, which helped tremendously, and she was able to enjoy the rest of our day. Aquatica should seriously consider investing in professional bee management, including traps or other safe methods to draw bees away from heavily populated guest areas. My biggest concern, however, was employee professionalism. Around 7:44 p.m., outside the Aquatica exit near the employee entrance, I observed what appeared to be an employee rolling what looked like a marijuana joint in plain view. If security cameras cover that area, management should review the footage. In addition, several employees at the food registers seemed more interested in asking girls for their phone numbers than helping the customers who were standing there trying to order food. The park is clearly staffed primarily by teenagers and young adults, which is understandable, but customer service expectations and professionalism need to be reinforced. Overall, we still had a fun day, especially after the weather improved, and the attractions continue to make Aquatica worth visiting. I just hope management addresses the employee conduct issues and the bee problem because both take away from what is otherwise a great water park. Oh also, if you normally use the green life vests, they did do away with those. That's the adult large. They only have XS, medium and xxL. I will add, the coffee at scoops ice cream area was very good. I got an vanilla latte

Even the short lines were well over an hour long. We rode 3 rides. There was no hussle from anyone, staff was unpleasant. We stood in line for an hour and 20 minute for food. At the end, found out there was zero ice throughout the entire park. The soda/drinks were warm coming out of the fountains. Bees covered the fountains from all the dry syrup. Won't be going back.

First time visiting and loved experiencing everything through their after hours event (Volcano Bay…read moreNights). Staff had great energy throughout the night, and there is a good mixture of thrill / relaxing rides for all ages. Personally, you can always find me at a lazy river. I loved how they have your classical slow moving river vs fast moving river for people who want a lil thrill (my fave). The park follows a tropical theming which was enjoyable to experience, and has thoughtful details that make your experience more fun / immersive. Throughout the park, there are buttons that trigger cannons to squirt water at people. Similarly, buttons placed in the pools also trigger a bubbling effect-- even as an adult I found myself enjoying these little details. Throughout the night, there were also special character meet and greets for photo opps (Trolls, Shrek, HTTYD) + unlimited snacks (churro /popcorn) + freestyle cup were just a nice bonus Volcano Bay is definately worth a visit for anyone who loves water parks. I would definately recommend visiting if an after hours event is offered

Our driver Nate was friendly and welcomed us. He drove safely and got us to Volcano Bay without any issues. Upon arriving to Volcano Bay, I immediately went to the Sales/Tickets counter to purchase Mom's and my tickets. I wanted to purchase the tickets with gift cards I had. Gift cards can only be used on site and can not be redeemed online. (I was also able to pay for parking at Universal with one of the gift cards.) Lockers are, of course, available for rent. It was 7 of us so we got a family locker. That didn't work. We had to rent another family locker to hold all our stuff. The family lockers are not big enough if you have multiple bags. Some of the staff are cool. We encountered one team member who greeted almost everyone in the Kopiko Wai Winding River (lazy river). Every time we winded back around to where he sat overlooking and safeguarding the river he spoke. His attitude was hospitable and refreshing.

If…read morethere is any improvement I believe that is needed, it is the music to be that only improvement. Not all of us, fact many of us are fond of hearing modern pop and hip music. It is a water park and the music that is to be played in an atmosphere of water, sun and palm trees is Hawaiian/Pacific Island music, Caribbean or vintage classic beach rock music like the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet. Sorry, but if I want to hear such rubbish like hip and modern pop, I would go to a gentlemen's club or the urban ghetto. Also got to think about the interest of other's groups' taste in music, not just one group with strictly one type of music. That music does not fit in at all with this environment. Other waterparks like Volcano Bay have tropical Pacific Island music in their Hawaiian kind of atmosphere.

A few of the ride attendants looked serious while managing the lines, but everything was organized and the rides moved efficiently. Don't miss the lazy river! We saved it for the end of the day, and it turned out to be the perfect way to relax before heading home. The water is only about 3 feet deep, and we ended up floating around it four times before we left. Overall, it was a fun day with family and friends,

We started at the lazy river, then went to the giant play structure, then to the wave pool. Somewhere in the middle of it, my wife -- being more adventurous than I -- took our oldest on the super tall water slide. Not my thing, but if it's yours, have at it. Why am I withholding a fifth star? First, the cost for lockers is ludicrous; $16 for the smallest unit, IIRC. Second, a number of the water slides on the play structure were shut down, likely due to insufficient staff. Kind of frustrating for my middle child, who isn't big enough for the giant slides, to see so many of the smaller ones closed. But, he still had a great time. Overall, I recommend the water park, especially if you can find a BOGO deal.

It was fun to try it and it's definitely a nice change from the park on a hot day. My son loved some of the crazy slides. There is a lazy river and lots of Lego water stations the kids can play with. That being said, there are a few downsides: the location is not ideal. It's all the way at the end of the park so you have to walk through Legoland and back when you go. What makes this even more tedious is that there are no towels provided so you have to get all that stuff yourself through the park. The chairs were a bit run down. Only one food booth with limited options and they weren't accommodating at all when I accidentally ordered the wrong fountain drink. I doubt I will come back. The hotel pool is more fun.

The room smelled awful, the window didn't open, and even after switching rooms the smell remained. The hotel is old, uncomfortable, and poorly maintained. Overall, a very disappointing stay. Our check-in experience at this hotel was a complete fiasco. We arrived in the evening only to discover that our reservation had been cancelled because we were two hours late. This happened despite the fact that we had called and sent messages in advance to confirm our arrival and specifically asked them not to cancel the booking. Nevertheless, the reservation was cancelled, and we were forced to make a new one after already waiting in line. At the front desk, the staff insisted it was our fault for not notifying them, even though we had clearly done so. Unfortunately, the real disappointment began when we entered the room. The smell was extremely unpleasant, and since the window did not open, it was impossible to ventilate the space. We requested a different room, and while the second room was slightly better, it still had an unpleasant odor. The pool area was also difficult to tolerate due to a very strong chlorine smell. Overall, the hotel feels very outdated and poorly maintained, making it hard to relax. Even the bar was closed throughout our stay. Overall, a very disappointing experience
