I don't understand any negative reviews. The Roar and Snore was absolutely incredible! The only thing I can think of is that people are expecting a hotel experience when they book. This is still camping. YOU ARE CAMPING! There is dirt, some spots on the tent canvas (Because it is a canvas tent),and you are still roughing it to a degree. No showers! It's elevated camping! The first day we walked a total of 5 miles including getting to our tents and doing the tours. We love walking and my 6 year old did great! I don't recommend for kids under 5 or people who aren't physically active or individuals who don't enjoy REAL camping. The staff were all so kind and friendly. Our tour guides Ryan and Jared were exceptional! The tours and animal experiences were worth the visit in itself. We enjoyed playing the group bingo. The food was delicious. For dinner we could have corn, salad, Mac n cheese, cooked veggies, hot dogs, burgers, and bbq chicken. In the evening we got popcorn, smores, and hot chocolate. Breakfast was plentiful too! We could have as much as we wanted every meal. Yes it is expensive, but where else is there an experience like this? Plus it's all a donation to the animals and helping conservation. I've always enjoyed the Safari Park the most because the animals have so much more room to roam. It's like they are in the closest possible environment to what they would experience in the wild. I don't understand when people prefer going places where animals are more cramped in their enclosures. If that's the case, their priorities are all wrong.

Amazing anniversary gift. The guides were friendly only negative .. wish the bathrooms were closer to campsite. Still very cool

MRS says ...We recently had our first "glamping" experience at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and it was such a memorable adventure for the whole family! Sleeping in a tent was a first for us, but we were pleasantly surprised--each tent came with a standing fan, side desks, and lamps, making it feel cozy and comfortable. The views from the camp were beautiful, especially during the early morning and late evening hours. The guided tours were engaging and gave us a rare chance to see the animals when the park is quiet and cooler. While the food could use a bit of improvement, the post-tour treats made up for it. Our kids especially loved roasting s'mores by the fire and munching on popcorn under the stars. This is a unique experience that we highly recommend to families looking to do something a little different. Getting to enjoy the safari after hours gave us a whole new appreciation for the animals and the park. Definitely worth adding to your family bucket list! KID says .... The zoo is pretty good

2.) If you are visiting out of state and do not have bedding you'll want/need to upgrade to a tent that has everything for you.

When I can afford it, I want to pay to stay for an extended amount of time. For the quality and what you get for what you pay daily, it's the best. I used to pay $90/day to keep my rv somewhere else and it's almost half as much here. Well it's a little more if you add the waste/ sewage but it's still not nearly close to $90. The level of comfort and home vibe I felt while staying says a lot because this new full time rv way of life has been a tough adjustment for me but woods valley made me feel like "yeah I could for sure do this." I could only afford to pay for one day at a time but if you pay for weekly or monthly, you get a discount. So that's my eventual goal.

Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Plenty of room for your RV, trailer or tent. Plenty of room for multiple if you want to share. We were in site #108 on the outer edge with HWY 101 just above us. There was road/city noise, but we all became accustomed to it. The loud train crossing warnings and trains going by at night took some getting used to. The facilities are well maintained. The bathrooms were relatively clean. The showers need more hooks to hold your stuff. Showers run on tokens. One token gives you two minutes. The water gets hot fast and the pressure is good. Tokens are two for $1.00 at the main entrance. It is ridiculously difficult to get a reservation. Jump on-line six months in advance and keep at it. Calling usually yields very little success. If you can get lucky and get a spot, I totally recommend it!

There's a section of the beach toward the south where dogs can play totally legal. The only thing I would worn at this time of the year would be stingrays when the tide goes out it gets very shallow around the rocky parts and that's when you wanna be really careful. I got bit about a week or so ago and thank goodness that Macy was there as a lifeguard. I had my foot bleeding in a boiling water pail for 45 minutes, and then she told me what to do to get antibiotics and start them right away. It was really a great thing that a lifeguard didn't have to do but did.

We found Valley Center Glamping (VCG) after plans for a trip…read morefell through. Was a last minute plan. So I found VCG on another website and decided to check it out. Their website had a few pictures of what it looked like. So wife and I took a chance and decided to book a 3 night 4 day stay. The day before our reservation we went to just check it out, just to get a feel of what it looked like and man were we very pleasantly surprised. Met the proprietors and explained we booked a reservation for the next day. Not paying attention to the website I booked a room in the bunk house. Scott and Marla upgraded us to one of the tents. We 2ere so glad they did. We arrived around 2 pm on the day of our reservation and were immediately greeted by Scott and Marla they were very gracious and even assisted in unloading and moving coolers and luggage to the tent. Got to the tent and man was I surprised... queen sized bed with dresser and night stands. If I hadn't known better I'd have said it was a very upscale hotel room... carpeted floor nice deck with gas fire pit and nice nostalgic cooler with water and ice all set up. After conversing with the proprietors they gave us a quick tour of the grounds. Was amazed by the grounds and to hear Scott talk he has amazing plans for the rest of the grounds. Could tell he loved what he was doing. We got checked in and made our way to the tent. As we understood it there was to be 2 more couples arriving the same day. We later found out the other couples cancelled and we were the only GLAMPERS on the site. Not complaining was great. So after unpacking it was chill time. My wife took a nice 3 hour nap and I seriously enjoyed the view, the nice breeze and couple of adult cocktails and took in the solitude of the surroundings. That night and every night we stayed, I slept like a rock. Was so comfortable and quiet it was great. The doves cooing in the morning, the coyotes and owls at night. It was a world away right in our own backyard. I am definitely going to book here again. Scott and Marla were very gracious and accommodating host and hostess. I like the fact it is adults only 18 and up. No kids or pets. If you're looking for a nice adult get away this is definitely a place to go. Only thing negative and given the current pandemic situation can't call it a negative since it was circumstances beyond their control, was the restaurant was closed and they are not sure when they'll be able to reopen but the did have a BBQ area. Which we utilized last 2 nights there.
