Chris, the manager, was wonderful and so accommodating. Upgraded us to a nicer site with a view. Went above and beyond at check in. They even give you a little welcome goodie bag with snacks :) Great customer service. Sites are big and park is clean too

This park does not have a locked gate overnight, so campers are able to enter and exit freely 24/7, however, it allows any curious person vehicle access when the parks staff aren't manning the kiosk. Would be prudent to lock valuables overnight. Showers get hot, bathrooms are tended to at least every AM. 3 Popular surf breaks nearby, Swamis to the north, Cardiff reef to the south and San Elijo right down the cliff stairs. Pedestrians, Surfers, and beachgoers may access beaches through a walkway open during daylight hours through the park below the surfer statue (who usually is decorated in a funny way) or through the main entrance. Camping here is more quiet and peaceful than a few miles up the road at South Carlsbad state beach, which has a camp store/ cafe that hosts gatherings that can get large and loud, as well as double hookup sites that host 2 rvs/ trailers at once. Both parks are beautiful, but each unique in their little ways. Hookup campsites here are limited to 2 vehicles including your primary/trailer. If you have guests they will need to be shuttled in or park a distance and walk in. Have camped here a few times and haven't had any issues with hookups, all worked well during our stays. Spots are close to level, some are all dirt, some are paved but you will likely want leveling blocks to get your rig perfectly balanced here. Not the parking lot type of campground, there are bushes and trees between most neighbors Enjoy your stay

There's a section of the beach toward the south where dogs can play totally legal. The only thing I would worn at this time of the year would be stingrays when the tide goes out it gets very shallow around the rocky parts and that's when you wanna be really careful. I got bit about a week or so ago and thank goodness that Macy was there as a lifeguard. I had my foot bleeding in a boiling water pail for 45 minutes, and then she told me what to do to get antibiotics and start them right away. It was really a great thing that a lifeguard didn't have to do but did.

He was in a very bad place when he entered Green Oak. It is Christian based and has worked wonders for my son. No more beating himself up for things he has done in the past. Yes there is a lock down period of two months - Yes you cannot have a phone while at the ranch. If you leave the premises you can take your phone for the day. You can work outside the facility after two months. There are random drug tests and when returning from a day out a breathalyzer test. As far as the food - no it is not great but edible. I don't know what people expect when you are paying $750 per month. You get a roof over your head - continual help and sober living. Classes for you to get sober & stay sober. Yes you do have some chores. When my son first arrived he would feed the goats, Tortes, peacock, horses and two pigs and one llama. Not hard work. Animals got fed twice a day and the goats 3x a day. There is also gate duty. He has been working the gate, teaching men how to study for their GED and has found purpose in his life again. It is learning that life is tough and there are restrictions in many things we do - but the rewards are priceless. My son may stay longer than the 9 months - and hopes to find out what he would like to do when his time is up to leave Green Oak. One Day At a Time. Thank you for Giving me My Son back.

We found Valley Center Glamping (VCG) after plans for a trip…read morefell through. Was a last minute plan. So I found VCG on another website and decided to check it out. Their website had a few pictures of what it looked like. So wife and I took a chance and decided to book a 3 night 4 day stay. The day before our reservation we went to just check it out, just to get a feel of what it looked like and man were we very pleasantly surprised. Met the proprietors and explained we booked a reservation for the next day. Not paying attention to the website I booked a room in the bunk house. Scott and Marla upgraded us to one of the tents. We 2ere so glad they did. We arrived around 2 pm on the day of our reservation and were immediately greeted by Scott and Marla they were very gracious and even assisted in unloading and moving coolers and luggage to the tent. Got to the tent and man was I surprised... queen sized bed with dresser and night stands. If I hadn't known better I'd have said it was a very upscale hotel room... carpeted floor nice deck with gas fire pit and nice nostalgic cooler with water and ice all set up. After conversing with the proprietors they gave us a quick tour of the grounds. Was amazed by the grounds and to hear Scott talk he has amazing plans for the rest of the grounds. Could tell he loved what he was doing. We got checked in and made our way to the tent. As we understood it there was to be 2 more couples arriving the same day. We later found out the other couples cancelled and we were the only GLAMPERS on the site. Not complaining was great. So after unpacking it was chill time. My wife took a nice 3 hour nap and I seriously enjoyed the view, the nice breeze and couple of adult cocktails and took in the solitude of the surroundings. That night and every night we stayed, I slept like a rock. Was so comfortable and quiet it was great. The doves cooing in the morning, the coyotes and owls at night. It was a world away right in our own backyard. I am definitely going to book here again. Scott and Marla were very gracious and accommodating host and hostess. I like the fact it is adults only 18 and up. No kids or pets. If you're looking for a nice adult get away this is definitely a place to go. Only thing negative and given the current pandemic situation can't call it a negative since it was circumstances beyond their control, was the restaurant was closed and they are not sure when they'll be able to reopen but the did have a BBQ area. Which we utilized last 2 nights there.
