The food was okay. The service was not as good. We had to wave down our waitress more than once. I was in a party of 15. Since we could not get our waitress attention I tried calling out to another waitress and she had earphones in her ear and pretended not to hear me. Came in for a late morning breakfast, several patrons scattered in open seating. We were met with a smile and morning greeting. Ordered a handheld breakfast burrito and meat omelette with green chile. Two tables of regulars were having happy banter back and forth, not obtrusive just a pleasant background exchange. Another diner spilled a large glass of water which was cleaned and cleared and he was put to ease and was smiling immediately. Another obvious regular came in and hugged the waitstaff before sitting with the banter group. Our meal came hot, fresh, homemade and ample in portion. Restaurant was recommended by hotel staff and they were not wrong!! We had stuffed sopapillas with the green sauce and YUM! We live in Utah, so good New Mexican is hard to come by. It was just wonderful. Service was good, place was clean and very interesting with it's Coke memorabilia. We'd eat there again. read more

Staff was very friendly and of course now everyone sits outside. There is a limited menu and most of the items are no longer available. Had the French dip, was not super great but was not bad at all. Bun soaked up the Aujus so that was good. Fries were dry but cooked and all in all it was an okay visit. I wish they had a better handle on sitting outside but it is good read more

We decided to stop here for dinner, every week me my wife, daughters and grans pick a spot to eat and visit. We haven't eaten here in a while. After we ordered I went to the restroom and the place looked like a bomb had gone off in it. It was so nasty. Usually when the bathroom is bad so is the kitchen. No towels or soap so I know the cool doesn't wash his hands in the restroom. We got our food and I ordered the combo Mexican plate and it was horrible. There was 6 of us and all our meals were horrible. I was happy it came with sopapillas they were so greasy they were like wet bread. The place used to be so good and maybe the cook was doing his or her best but good grief I don't think we will eat there again. read more

The service is alright, waters are kept full, the food comes out pretty quickly and is what you'd expect from a roadside place like this. Nothing stellar to rave about, but nothing bad either. The people were nice when we walked in. It took a few minutes for the waitress to show up to the table, but she was nice and friendly. She brought us chips and salsa upon her first arrival. She took our order. She made suggestions about the special for the day, which was Mexican hamburger steak. My husband ordered that. I ordered the chili relleno. The waitress asked if I wanted red or green sauce or Christmas, which is both sauces. I chose the Christmas which is red and green sauce in two separate bowls on the side. The food arrived right on the verge of late, but we were hungry. The hamburger meat in the Mexican hamburger steak was not from frozen, but not seasoned. The only seasoning it has was the toppings on it which was cheese, lettuce, tomato and green sauce. The chili relleno was good, hot, and fresh. It was different from any I have ever eaten before because the batter was like fair food batter. But it was good. The rice was boxed rice, but still OK. The beans were whole beans and they were good but bland. None of the food was really seasoned. It was really bland. We had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The green and red sauces were super bland and were like flour gravy that you would use to make gravy for biscuits. None of these things are the reasons I gave two stars. The food was a solid three stars. The service is why it wasn't a 1 star. I wanted to do a one star because of the bathrooms. My husband and I both went to the restrooms after we ate. Both of us saw how nasty each restroom was. There were paper towels all over the place. The trash cans were overflowing with trash and paper towels. The walls were dirty. The toilets were dirty. The countertops are filthy and had soap and water all over them. This was at the beginning of lunch. So the mess was from breakfast. That means no one went in there and checked the restrooms after breakfast. If the restrooms are that neglected, then the sanitation in the kitchen is also neglected. read more

Ordered one of the Mexican dishes. Everything on my plate was the same color and tasted exactly the same. Bland doesn't begin to describe the lack of flavor. Fries were undercooked to the point of being still raw. Refried beans were just whole beans, not crushed or mashed in the least. read more

I ordered fajita salad , and it was excellent : at least 1/2 lbs juicy, soft and flavorful fajita meet on a bed of chilled crispy salad , with radish , thin sliced carrots , and grilled to perfection green peppers and caramelized onions . My dressing of choice was blue cheese :homemade creamy and rich ( but not overpowering ) . I love good salads , and this one was one of the best I have tried ....price tag of 7.99 was very reasonable . My husband ordered cheeseburger with fries , and he was very happy with the taste and the portion size . Again , price tag of 6.99 was surprisingly low for the quality and amount of the food . I am taking off 1 star from overall rating due to how run down the interior of the restaurant is . Bathrooms need some serious TLC , and as soon as possible . The food took forever. Multiple people came after us and were finished before we were ever served. We were told it was because the fajitas took a long time. Fajitas were cold and made with poor quality meat. Chili rellenos were mainly breading with little cheese, heat or flavor. They give mainly beans and rice but both were also cold. We complained to the cashier and she stated "it's because we only have one waitress." We have tried this restaurant twice and have been disappointed on both occasions. read more

Quaint small town restaurant. Traveling to Arizona from Colorado and stopped for brunch. The portions were big and the staff was friendly. Some might say that this place needs an update but I would disagree. The Roadside may need a few ceiling tiles changed out, but that's the only issue here. I'm just finishing up 5 months of contract work in Bloomfield. This has become my favorite spot for breakfast on the weekends. The food is mostly good, the coffee is pretty good- I don't know why- it's just Folger's, but for what ever reason, it's what I look forward to Saturday morning. The service is hit and miss, unfortunately. We've had excellent service and we almost walked out once because a server was so involved with her grandchild at another table, and when she wasn't she was on her phone acting like she was rolling silver wear. A local roadside country style restaurant in a small town. There isn't much of a choice to eat here in Bloomfield NM, it's just a crossroads town fueled by oilfield and gas companies. The place looks inviting from the outside and when you enter, it's covered with Coca Cola paraphernalia. It's starting to look run down with its torn seats and the bathrooms have seen better days. The server was very friendly and she made sure our drinks didn't go dry. This isn't no chain restaurant so with that I mind, don't expect your server to bust out into a line dance with the other servers. I ordered the green chile breakfast burrito and it was pretty good, although the wait time seem to be pretty lengthy. My boys had the hot cakes and bacon....they loved the bacon! The wifey had the BLT with swirl fries, which is hand cut and fresh. I guess the experience was pretty good, but I wish they would keep up with the maintenance on the place. If I had to eat there again, I would without and hesitation. Try it, at least you can say that you ate at an authentic mom & pop country style restaurant. read more

With two notable exceptions. Their Chili Relleno is hands down the absolute best I have ever had. Stopped for lunch as we drove through town. Friendly waitress. Good service. Plates are huge, so I was glad to have gone for the a la carte stuffed sopapilla. The food was less than mediocre. Food was brought out cold. Eggs were over cooked. Hashbrowns and hot cakes both had that bitter taste like they used old grease to cook them. Our waitress was nice but very slow and forgetful. Had to ask twice for a couple of items. Brought sweet tea when we asked for unsweet. We were her ONLY table while another waitress on the other side had 4 tables that came in after we did and got their food before we did. Cashier asked how our lunch was so I kindly told her the issues. I didn't ask for any discounts but ironically enough she said she would remove the sweet tea, which was wrong in the first place. I only gave a 2 star b/c they were nice. Food could be much better with minimal effort of changing out oil they cook with more often and delivering food hot to table. However, we won't be back.
