Amy was nice, she gave us some bussin ice. She made me feel happy. The food was good it did not suck. They didn't even make me pay an extra buck. "Amy moves like a quiet tide between tables, balancing plates like small, shining moons. Her smile is warm bread, her voice a soft clink of glasses at dusk. She knows who wants lemon, who needs a moment, who came in carrying the weight of a long day. She sets it down gently beside the forks. The ice is good here-- clear, bright, and singing in every cup, little crystals that catch the light like laughter you didn't expect. And the food-- oh, the food arrives like a promise kept: golden, fragrant, alive with comfort, each bite a reason to stay a little longer. Amy drifts through it all, steady as a heartbeat, turning hunger into something softer-- something like home" read more

This place is awesome! Such a cute design located in the downtown area I would say. They have plenty of seating inside and I believe I remember seating outside (don't quote me). The staff were so amazing. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Great food with plenty of flavor and lots of choices. The drinks were so good and made to perfection. No complaints here. Would definitely go back. Love Amy! read more

The Chile Pod - New Mexican Cuisine Near Me - Farmington, New Mexico

Would have guessed this was a Mexican restaurant just driving by, but a friend noted it was their favorite place to eat at when in Farmington and now we see why. This place does flavor very well and it's a mix between authentic and their take on things. Regardless, it's working. The enchilada's were loaded with meat. The masa used in the tamales was as perfect as it gets with flavor and moistness. The crunchy taco was fried to perfection and so yummy. And the salsa was amazing! The service was friendly and on point. The ambience made it feel like we were in an enclosed patio with a deli in it, interesting but comfortable. Prices were very reasonable considering quantity, quality and flavor profiles 8.7/10 read more

The food is good. Green chili is very. Good . They are located on West main street. The old part of Farmington. I see this location as a challenge cuz of the idiocy. The city of Farmington showed us making the roundy.. rounds Instead of attracting folks . The roundy rounds scare folks away I avoid this part of town if at all possible. Luckily the Pod . Has an entrance Off of Broadway with parking. read more

My friend and I are on a cross-country roadtrip, and we stopped in here for dinner on our way from Four Corners to Albuquerque, and I am SO glad we did!!! The atmosphere is very relaxed, and everyone is very friendly. I wanted to come here so I could experience authentic New Mexican hatch chile cuisine, and I'm so glad we picked this place. I had their old fashioned to drink, and it was such a unique flavor with their spiced syrup...it was perfect. Their salsa is amazing...and will definitely clear out your sinuses! My friend got the combo plate with their spiced syrup chile relleno options and a mix of their red and green sauces. She loved every bite. I had the chile queso chicken, and it was AMAZING....grilled chicken on a bed of fajita-style vegetables with a mix of their green and red sauces topped with melted cheese. It is honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten. Sonni was an amazing server and gave perfect recommendations! If you ever find yourself in NW New Mexico, I highly recommend stopping in The Chile Pod for a meal! read more

The Chile Pod - Chile queso chicken (foreground), old fashioned, and the combo plate (back) - New Mexican Cuisine Near Me - Farmington, New Mexico

This is the kind of food I come to Northern New Mexico for and haven't had much luck finding it in Santa Fe recently. I had the Carne Adovada plate. Everything on the plate except the beans was peppery hot. That includes the salsa for the chips. And there was the sopapia with honey included, and it was only $16. Seriously, I haven't enjoyed a Mexican restaurant meal this much a very long time. read more

After hearing how good The Chile Pod is from several friends we decided to eat here while in town since our favorite restaurant was closed for the holiday weekend. The food was disappointing. I ordered the Navajo taco but it comes on Sopaipillas not Frybread and was not at all what I was hoping for or expecting. The chili rellano was also disappointing. The basket of Sopaipillas we ordered took so long we almost cancelled them, and then seemed to be possibly frozen/premade. However the biggest disappointment was the service. We stood at the front door area for almost 10 minutes waiting to be seated while 3 employees sat in the first booth not acknowledging our party. Had it been busy I may understand. Our waitress was nice enough but appeared to be over busy and irritated when we asked for items like cutlery and more salsa. Overall a lack luster experience. We will not return our next trip to Farmington. read more

I loved my food. I know and love New Mexican Cuisine. I had one of the best Carne Adovada burritos I have ever had. The red chili had great flavor and texture. Service was exceptional. We sat near the bar and the bartender waited on us. He was unbelievably efficient. We had to wait for nothing. He handled everything with several tables and the bar without missing a beat. Decor is subdued and clean. Host staff was very friendly. We pass through Farmington a couple of times a year and will definitely stop here again. read more

The food was outstanding. My wife had the Del Prado Chicken Sandwich. She really enjoyed but couldn't finish all the fries. I had the New Mexican Burger with both green and red chili. The burger is served on a tortilla, covered with cheese and chili, then covered with fries. I then had them cover the fries with cheese and chili. It was excellent but it was so much I couldn't finish it all. The service was helpful, efficient, and very friendly. The owner had won people's choice for her chili 4 years in a row, and I can see why. The restaurant is comfortable and welcoming. It is well worth a visit. read more

Another one of my all time Farmington favorites. Not sure how it has taken me so long to post about them. I've been coming here for years, the chili is great, lists of great NM stables, but for me, it's hard not ordering huevous rancheros every time because they are so tasty. They have remodeled and expanded over the years so the inside environment is nice. read more

Perhaps I don't get to Farmington often enough but I can't believe I've been missing out on this hidden gem. The prices are insanely reasonable. The food is phenomenal. The staff is very attentive. Apparently this place used to be considerably smaller but they've expanded to include a ton more seating. They even have an outside patio for warmer months. It's giving bigger city downtown vibes and I LOVE it! read more

Came here for a Friday night dinner and drinks. First the happy hour is kind of a joke one margarita on special for $15 and a random white claw for $2. No draft or other drink specials on a Friday night. The food was good but the green chili stole the show, full of flavor and a really good addition to the combo plate. The chili relleno was good but the taco was ok nothing to get too excited over. Overall wasn't bad but I'll probably order something different next time through. read more

Found this as we were driving through NM on a road trip and wanted a lunch stop. Unexpected gem! Cute restaurant, loved the outdoor patio seating! Amazing food. I had the Smokin' Grilled Cheese BLT and the Green Chile Stew and hubs had the stew and the Blueberry Goat Cheese Salad. The Green Chile Stew was amazing with the right amount of heat! Sandwich was huge and so tasty with the fresh jalapeño slices. Salad was great as well with an ample amount of grilled chicken on it. Overall a great experience! read more

I love green chile and especially New Mexican style. Where I come from in Colorado and open faced hamburger with green chile is called a slopper. So when I found this gem I couldn't resist. I live on the east coast and made a trip back. I of course wanted to eat here again since its been so long. I have been thinking of a Navajo taco for months. I was beyond disappointed. It was not done on traditional fry bread like they used to. It was on a bisquick bread in four squares. They did the same thing for the sopapillas. I was told they have a new chef from NY City. Leave the fry bread alone. Keep the bisquick in NY. So sad. Won't be back in the future. read more

OK I better throw down on this place. It is freaking delicious!'!! That's all there is to it. No but really If you like green chili or red chili it's a must, and if you happen to get Bailey as a server, there's another plus he does an amazing job of explaining things on the menu to you. It's like you're at a wine tasting and they're explaining the wine to you in complete detail It's fabulous, as for the place there's two different sides one side feels a little warmer on the other side is a little bit louder. So choose your poison. I will be back... And please open for breakfast that green chili stew in an omelette would be amazing... read more

My husband and I stopped here on a long-distance road trip, and we were not disappointed! It was our first time in New Mexico, and we were so excited to have Xmas chile, and The Chile Pod delivered. It was fantastic!! Personal faves were the red chile and the adovada. Their salsa is also fantastic. So much so that we timed our return drive so that we'd be in Farmington for lunch so we could get carry out. We got some chile and salsa to take home, too. Thanks for exposing us to great NM food! We also stopped in Albuquerque, but I have to say the food here was way better! read more

I followed the recommendation of my AirBnB host to try out this restaurant, and I'm glad I did! I had the lunch chicken quesadilla with green chiles, which was delicious. I appreciated the smaller size basket of chips since I was dining alone (that way I didn't overindulge or waste). Beware - the salsa packs a punch! :) read more

We had great New Mexican cuisine in their outdoor dining area with our little dog. Since their New Mexican mac and cheese and red and green chili are "best in the Four Corners" I ordered both and they were delicious! We took the leftovers home for next day's lunch beans. My husband got the enchiladas with carne adovada, half of which were smothered in green chili sauce, half in red - also delicious. While we are no experts in New Mexican cuisine we do live in the California wine country and have friends whose Mexican restaurants / trucks when "best of" in our area. The food was freshly made, non greasy, flavorful, and plentiful. Service was great. I think the food came pretty fast and meanwhile the bottomless chips and salsa (also freshly made) took the edge of our hunger, coming out of Chaco Canyon after a long day of hiking. Great affordably priced, popular local restaurant. #getyourcraveon, -#dogfriendlynewmexico, #chilimac, #fido read more

I've always driven by this place and never thought to check it out until someone recommended it to me. I parked in the back since the front parking was all taken. Entering from the back you have two large steps to traverse. Once inside you have to make your way to the front host to be seated. The host was nice and welcoming. A patron who was passing by said that the food would not disappoint. Our waitress was Lindsey who was very nice, prompt, and attentive. There were free chips and salsa that were both house made and fresh! Me and my partner both ordered burgers. One open face chile burger and one jumping jalapeño burger. The fries were smothered in chile and cheese but remained crispy (I hate soggy fries). They ask you how you want your burger so I got it cooked medium and it was delicious. Lindsey refilled our chips and kept the drinks flowing (Dr pepper and lemonade). I rarely find great food that I write a review for or have the urge to come back for but the Chile Pod has a new repeat customer. The ambiance is a mildly dim area with booths and tables with nice open space in between. I met a waiter outside when leaving and he was friendly and inviting and was excited to tell us about his experience working there. He loved it and the food shows the other employees do too. A+ from me! read more

Excellent food, generous portions, and very prompt and friendly service. We were absolutely delighted!

Very friendly and knowledgeable servers. Food was excellent and will return. Service was great.

Great service, excellent food! Definitely New Mexico Mexican food, a bit on the hot side which I definitely like. I highly recommend it if you want authentic New Mexican food. Sopapillas are served with dinner selections. Their chili rellanos, are good, but I judge rellanos with my wife's as an example... they're not even close, BUT! if you don't know the best , their good. Everything on their menu is pretty much top quality. I highly recommend the Chili Pod! read more

Great food!! Excellent awesome food here and excellent service by Bertha & her team. We walk in with 6 of us for dinner and we were sat quickly. Bertha bought us Chips & Salsa 3 baskets of chips and 3 salsa's for the table. We don't even have to ask, she's super friendly and hilarious. We ordered and she and another server brought out our food in no time. We all were very happy with what We ordered. No leftovers. Fresh tasting green & Red chili. I had on green chili on my Navajo taco spice & heat was absolutely there on point. My cousin had Christmas chili which is Red chili & green. It's good too he let me taste it. The chicharrón's were only a cup I would of liked more but I'm glad it was small. I was hungry and it was plenty. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30, we were told there was a 30-45" wait & they would text us when a table became available. We walked around at an event in town & when we didn't get that text we went back to the restaurant & waited. We asked if we could put two tables together out on the patio seating and were told no they couldn't do that so we continued to wait. About 7:15 they sat another party at the outside tables, we asked again when we could expect to be seated & they said another 30-40". They did have a high rise table in the bar and other tables empty! We had two little kids who were very hungry and crying so we left and went elsewhere. We did have a party of 9 adults & 2 kids. I feel that having to wait an hour & a half and then to be told we would have to wait another 30-40" is beyond ridiculous. We are regulars at this restaurant, we won't be going back! read more
