First off, there are some pretty lame-ass reviews of this place that rated Los Rios with a one or a two...they couldn't have their heads lodged further up their *%^#+...especially the weirdo hypno guy - who yelped 8 other business - none for food. Lol. Just check out his photo...can you say "Dateline"? Anyway, this is actually a VERY GOOS FRIGG'en Mexican/New Mexican restaurant - and trust me...I'm one picky/opinionated MoFo. I've eaten here I believe, about 7 times. Every time the food has always been very good. Their chicken has a delicious/moist flavor unlike most other Mexican restaurants where they seemingly forget to reach into the seasoning drawer prior to rolling up an enchilada. Los Rios in my opinion delivers a very consistent product that's flavorfully simple and on point. That one dude talked about how a presentation is one of the most important aspects of a meal... Seriously? I'm bet he's just as critical with his own farts!!! Los Rios also has very good service. There's one gal who just doesn't miss a beat. She set me up once during a very busy lunch rush, with my to-go order. She made sure I not only had everything but asked me at least twice if there was anything else I needed/wanted. I don't know her name but I believe she's the daytime manager...just always smiling and in my opinion very customer focused. Anyone can come in here and criticize a place like this... It would be very easy to do... But unfortunately I think that same person would also be very ignorant to the simplicity of how and why a place like this is successful. I have eaten here for years and the service is terrific and they get the food out quick. We had the fajita Zone I believe it's a fajita salad and it was so hot we could not eat it. We ate the chicken in it and there was just a few little pieces. Great place but the green chili is so hot you can't enjoy the food. They asked us when we paid how it was and we told the nice lady up front it was to hot, she just laughed. Didn't care how it was I guess. If you like it so hot it numbs your mouth this is the place to go. read more

This is hands down my favorite place to eat. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. The green chili is nice and hot and they have a fantastic selection. No wonder my mother has been bringing me here since I was a kid. We no longer live in Farmington, but make it a point to stop every time we are in town. Kind of disappointing. The menu was varied enough, but the plating and servings weren't exactly on par with the price. The best part of my tostada was the shell, which was fresh made, though it seemed like I got more sour cream than meat. As we finished our meal and our plates were taken, we waited a good half hour for our sopapillas to be brought out (which we had to ask for, by the way). During this time, not once did our server or her backup (a total of three ladies covering the front) come and offer us refills on our long empty drinks... nor did she offer to top us off when our sopas DID come out. Now, mistakes happen and allowances can be made for busy times, but this didn't look like a lunch rush to me (three or four other parties). I just wasn't satisfied with the level of service. That said, the food was alright... I'm just not chomping at the bit to return, nor will I if I have other choices around town (of which there are plenty). Sorry, Los Rios... maybe it was just an off day. read more

Los Rios is hands down my all time favorite restaurant ever! I literally crave it on a weekly basis and would love for it to be in Phoenix! I make sure I go there once or five times when I'm there. The staff there is amazing and I usually have Amanda or Cephra serving me and they are always so on top of things! One of he owners gabe always comes to see if everyone likes the food when he is there and I love that he cares about his customers. He is very interactive! Now for the best part the food! Had dinner with family here last night. Food was good and served right away. The only thing is people were not social distancing, some not wearing mask, servers not wearing mask also. I absolutely love this place! Being from New Mexico I expect a lot and Los Rios delivers some of the best chicken enchiladas I have ever had. My favorite is their lunch special on Mondays and Thursdays. Whenever I am in town I always make a least one stop here. If you do decide to go for lunch, it is best to go before 12. All I can say is WOWWWW! I have had Mexican food...but OMG!!! I am having the beef fajitas, and the beef flavor is nothing less than HEAVEN! The seasoning on the meat will knock out your taste buds! Below average on atmosphere. You might think you were in an ordinary strip mall storefront (you are) with only cheap tables & chairs inside. No ambience whatsoever. Food very average. A little on the hot side, and I do like spicy. Can't bring myself to ever set foot in this place again, not when there are much nicer places in Farmington that actually look like a Mexican restaurant. Sorry, but presentation is an IMPORTANT part of the dining experience -- something TOTALLY lost on the owners of this place. Okay, sure the atmosphere isn't the best....but I've been in uglier restaurants. Yes, Texans come here a lot and they usually complain about how spicy our chili is and then proceed to give a rating that is lower than it should be. New Mexican cuisine really is very spicy, so I suspect Los Rios' food probably burnt off his taste buds. I really mean no offense to Steven. I have seen this happen a lot to great little home town restaurants like Los Rios. I have to admit, when I first came to New Mexico from Oklahoma, I too was used to Tex-Mex style (everything fried and drowing in melted cheddar) and didn't eat hotter than mild salsa. But through the years, the hot green / red chili and this restaurant really grew on me. I absolutely love the heat they pack into my red chili sauce and their Monday and Thursday Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas will quickly become a dish you crave week after week. I, along with hundreds (possibly thousands) of other locals from Farmington, are addicted to Los Rios' food, service, and their red or green chili....OMG....yes. Which is why I have gone to this place for over 15 years an average of twice a month. The consistency and quality of the food is exceptional, it is always impeccably clean (in the kitchen too), the staff is friendly, the owners are friendly and down to Earth people that deserve your business. I pride myself in being an exceptional cook and I have very refined tastes. I cook everything from scratch, including brewing my own beer, therefore, I am a food snob. If you are looking for the typical big box franchise food that also comes from a box, then stay away. If you like food that tastes like authentic New Mexican cuisine, this is THE BEST example you could hope to try. read more
