Omelet

Not much parking and very icy in the winter. Once inside, ordering area is impossible to read until you get up to the counter (no paper menus, TV screens are up behind the ordering station but due to glare from outside light you can't read it until you are the rushed person ordering). It is not made clear that meat, veg and cheese aren't included in your breakfast entree price, be prepared to almost faint when the breakfast total for two is $44!!! Online menu shows price increases for meat and veg, which should be shown in-person at the time of ordering. Seating isn't plentiful, so make sure one of you gets seating while the other orders. Omelet and breakfast burrito were good, but hashbrowns were way too salty. Neither one of us came close to finishing our entree and threw a lot away.

Great food, great ice cream, great service. I make a point of stopping here on my way through Eau Claire.

Best and biggest breakfast ever received in my 60 years. Then you get a home made dilly bar for dessert. I'm calling Guy Fiarri.

We just so happened to be in the Eau Claire area running an errand, and before we drove back home,…read morewe were feeling a bit peckish. We decided to check this place out for lunch since it wasn't too far from our current location. The restaurant sits in the middle of a strip mall, so parking was very easy and convenient. Inside the restaurant, a mini market selling basic Mexican ingredients and pantry goods is connected to it. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted promptly and picked out a table to sit at. We came during lunch time on a weekday and there was quite a bit of people in the dining area (it wasn't packed, but for a weekday lunch rush it was fairly busy). We ordered the ground beef chimichanga and beef tongue tacos. The chimichanga was fried perfectly and the ground beef was very well seasoned. It was hands down one of the best chimichangas we've ever tasted. The tacos were also delicious. The beef tongue was very tender and the salsas that came with our meal paired excellently with the tacos. I also very much enjoyed the seasoned radish that came with the tacos as an extra condiment because it gave the tacos more crunch and texture. Overall, the food was excellent. Service was fast and very friendly. The dining atmosphere was casual and it reminded of the hole-in-the wall places I used to frequent during my childhood. As a California native, I approve. So far this has been the best Mexican restaurant (in the Midwest) that we've tried. Would highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

Fish fry on Friday. Nice haddock…read moreThey have 1, 2 or all you can eat options for the fish dinner. We had fried, baked and Cajun grill at the table, all done well. You get 2 sides and toast. Coleslaw was a second choice as daughter for the last baked potato, was standard coleslaw fare. Chicken dumpling soup was a great start to a wonderfully satisfying meal. Hot fries, big steamy potato and plenty of haddock delivered quick. Family running place very friendly and quick service even with a pretty full house. They give you a carafe when you order coffee, some people don't like that but I do! Glad we found as the others were serving cod or pollock.

They have a decent amount of seating inside (booths) with a lot of antiques on the walls to keep you entertained. Our waitress was great!! Very friendly and attentive. We ordered the half-order of biscuits & gravy with hash browns, and half-order of eggs Benedict with hash browns, but I can assure you the half-order was still a plentiful and filling amount. I loved my biscuits & gravy with hash browns; the B&G were flavorful and well-seasoned. My mom loved her hash browns, but was disappointed with the eggs Benedict, as we are used to fresh eggs from our neighbor and she said the eggs had a sour smell to them and tasted off. I would definitely go back for the service, food, reasonable prices, and to support a veteran-owned business.

I stopped into Court N House after a meeting in the EC area for a quick lunch…read more I sat right down at the bar and was instantly greeted by the bartender. She asked if I had been there before and asked me what I wanted to drink and gave me a menu. I come to EC a few times a year and this was my first time at CNH but it wont be my last. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (with crinkle cut fries) and an order of the cheese curds. Curds came out fresh, hot and crispy. Paired with their ranch, these were the perfect start to the meal. After that came out the freshly grilled burger and fries. This was a no frills burger, but it was exactly what I like. Nice char on the burger, melty cheese and crispy salty bacon. Each bite brought me to a family bbq that I was missing. Fries were hot and fresh, perfect in my eyes. CNH came in clutch for a quick lunch and I will be back!

If I could give a zero for service and atmosphere I would!! We came in on a Friday night for the…read morefish fry this place is supposedly famous for. What we found was the most unprofessional operation I have ever seen in a restaurant. It is completely evident to me that the owner of the establishment either is clueless, checked out or both! Either way, they are derelict in their duty to oversee this operation! Our bartender, Sadie, was far more interested in chatting with her friends at the bar and with the other staff than in serving actual customers. We had to flag her down just to ask for menus and drinks. And when we finally got her attention, she mocked us for it -- flailing her arms in the air at us -- and then served us like we were an inconvenience. We saw her treat other guests like this too! People had to flag her down to pay their bill! Or to get a refill! In the 90 minutes we were there, I NEVER saw her wipe down the bar to clean it, not ONCE even as wave after wave of guests came through. The bar was a MESS! Bottles sitting out everywhere, an empty pizza box sitting on the back bar, an empty popcorn machine with no popcorn in it was never used! Pathetic! She wasn't the only problem. The staff were drinking behind the bar -- including the manager, Jackson! Yes, the MANAGER was drinking behind his own bar on a Friday night, WITH GUESTS, and I never saw him ring those drinks up. So not only is he endangering his staff and the bar, he's stealing from the owner! Cobwebs were hanging from the signs. The whole place feels like an owner who hasn't set foot in it in years, and it shows in every direction you look. The only half redeeming factor of that place is that the food and tap beer was good. The one exception deserves her own paragraph: Rachel, the greeter, was the only person in that building working hard -- good attitude, smile on her face, real hustle. She was carrying the place, and she deserves so much better than the team around her. Rachel, if you ever take that work ethic somewhere that appreciates it, your customers will follow you! Friday fish fry is a Wisconsin institution, and this place trades on a reputation it clearly stopped deserving a long time ago. Alumni were coming in to eat, and I was embarrassed for the owner of this establishment! We will NEVER come back, and I would not send anyone I liked through that door!
