WARNING: THESE GUYS DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE FOR THEIR WORK. IF THEY BREAK SOMETHING, YOURE SCREWED. The five star review they have is from one of their mechanics Upon a personal reference, I decided to employ these guys' services. They charge 40 dollars an hour with discounted parts, and would've wound up saving me quite a bit of money on a repair that would've otherwise costed about 1300 at the dealer. In retrospect, I should've just had the dealer do the repair. I had a diagnostic sheet that I had paid 126 dollars for at the dealership that I brought to Daniel (owner) He looked at the section that said "vac pump needs immediate attention" and seemed pretty confused. So when he was looking at the engine, he pulled off a piece (that he didn't actually realize at the time was the vacuum pump) and lost a little piece from it into the engine (never to be found again). He said to me, "well I can craft a piece made out of gold that will fit it, it'll work fine!" I said to him, "you're the professional here, I'll trust in your discretion." (Stupid stupid stupid mistake to leave it at his discretion, btw) the other mechanic (doug) agreed with him. The already compromised vacuum pump assembly didn't take well to the makeshift piece he tried to start the engine with and broke, stopping the cams from spinning whilst the engine was firing. The new quote went from 1300 to 4600. I can only speculate, but I would say that they didn't want to face me after that because they were humiliated by their complete ignorance of what they were doing. They ducked my calls for about a week and a half before I got someone else to get a hold of him and hand me the phone. It's infuriating that these folk get offended when you call them "mechanics" instead of "technicians" because they're Just SO professional. Now I'm staring down the barrel of a $4600 repair and this business doesn't have insurance or even the capital to cover the $2300 in parts my car needs. (Cylinder head assembly on a vw is more than two grand). Oh also, they changed my oil after they broke my engine and charged me for it despite the fact that the broken cylinder head assembly means that there's no longer oil or compression in my engine. Thanks Roadside Angelz! My friend said they've done good work on their Chevy and a Ford, but in any case at all, these guys should be your LAST DITCH EFFORT and only for basic repairs like brakes an oil changes! This is the perfect example of a half a**, backyard repair 'shop'. read more
