I had scraped the entire passenger side of my car on a white pole. Big scratches were down to the metal and the front bumper came off on that side and had to be held on with duct tape. My vehicle was involved in a minor accident where I had damage along the passenger side to my vehicle. I called my friend who used to run a bigger auto body shop but scaled down to do minor dent and paint repair business where he doesn't have the facility to fix my damages. He referred me to see Rob at R.N. Autobody. He is the owner and does hands on work to all his repairs. So he ensure quality and pride in his work. The end result was no doubt, the color blend matched all around and the repair was flawless. You couldn't tell I had body work done to my vehicle, it was that good. Dropped off on Monday and pick up was on Friday (5 days). As for value, well it was through my insurance. I'm glad that my insurance company accepted his repair quote and allow me to have my vehicle fixed by Rob. Crossing my fingers that I don't have another damaged vehicle, but if I do, I would go back to R.N. Autobody. I along with several other cars was a victim of mass car keying in the Hale Koa outdoor parking garage. Some as*hole decided to go around cars and circle them with their key. Bummer deal. Anyway, with the help of my insurance, I set up an appointment with Rob over at RN Auto. He was pretty straight forward and understanding of the situation. I can't see the process was hard at all. Dropped my car off, insurance provider sent him the check and when I came to pick the car up, couldn't even tell there was any damage to begin with. On top of that, when I picked the car up it looked like it had been washed and cleaned as well. The insurance estimate came in a little lower than Rob's so I was told by the carrier that I would have to cover the overage out-of-pocket, or I could get another estimate at another body shop but at this point, I just wanted it done. I had been waiting for things to reopen due to the pandemic so I wasn't able to address this for several months. But Rob was so cool, he waived the overage. He was pretty sympathetic to the fact that I had waited so long to fix. Also, there was a slight delay for the shields to come in so it was all good. They did a fantastic job and I wouldn't hesitate coming back (hopefully I will never have to) or recommending them to anyone. read more

I have a fairly old car with damage to the front bumper. I drove into RN Auto Body and asked for an estimate. Ron said it would cost about $1000 to replace the bumper, and as he was saying that, he lifted the bumper and put it back in place! He said there was no guarantee it would stay in place, but so far it has. That was all the repair I needed. I asked him what I owed him and he accepted $20. Overall: Fast, good communication, great repair job! Long backstory short, someone hit my car's front bumper and I had to get it fixed. I searched for places near where I lived and found RN Autobody tucked away on Kapahulu Ave. I called the owner, Rob, who told me to drop by for a free estimate. He said he could take my car immediately and probably get the repair done in a day or so, so I decided to leave my car with my on a Thursday afternoon. It turned out that my bumper didn't just sustain a scuff, but was also cracked underneath, which meant that he had to order a new bumper for me. The whole process only took 2 business days! (Fast, considering they had to order a bumper from Servco) I got my car back on Monday afternoon with a new bumper AND he also washed my car!! I am blown away with Rob and the work done at RN Auto Body, Someone hit my Drivers side front fender, dented it and fled without leaving a note, I just had to get my fender fixed ASAP, I went to a shop in the Ward area and got a quote but then the guy said his only opening was 6 weeks away, I just couldn't wait that long. I pulled into RN on Tuesday and Rob said he could do it on Thursday and get it done in 1 Day, I was estatic. I dropped it off at 8 AM and got a call at 430 PM that it was ready. I am so Happy with the work that he did and the quickness that he was able to do it in, he also fixed and fastened a clip that was off on my other fender without me even asking him to do it, now that's great customer service. He was cordial, direct and accommodating with the date to bring my car in and his quote was very reasonable. I brought my Civic in on Friday, by the middle of the next week my car was done. Thank u Yelpers for helping me find R N auto body & paint! I was in a fender bender that was not going to reach my $2500 deductable. I checked 3 auto body repair shops in my area that got the best reviews via Yelp for price and quality. Two came back with quotes of $1500 with using after market parts; Kwan's and RN. Both also quoted me $500 for another eye sore ding that I figured I'd get fixed at the same time. I was torn whom to go to with both nearly identical quotes and reviews, but in the end, my gut told me to go with RN because the owner Rob had a very humble local guy vibe that I trusted. I dropped my toyota corolla off at 2:15pm on Saturday, and Rob told me he'd have it done by Tuesday or Wednesday. I got the call at 4:16pm Tuesday and picked it up that evening. The side ding was repaired beautifully. The front bumper was also done very well. After market parts are known not to give u a perfect fit, but I was very satisfied with the work. Plus, there were $300 of extra unknown damage inside the broken headlight, but Rob did not charge me any extra for that work. I would definitely recommend RN for repairs!! read more

So, I have the kind of car that other cars LOVE to bump into. They especially like to crash themselves into my drivers side door which has been fixed and/or replaced 3 times now. They also have an affinity for the rear driver side panel and of course, the back bumper. They really just like to give my car a good 'ole nudge; just enough to do damage but not hurt the frame. Needless to say, my faithful old Jetta has been to the shop more than a few times. I always take her to RN Auto Body in Kapahulu and today I got her back after she spent a few days there with Rob and his team. She got a ton of TLC and first rate fixing on a door that had misaligned itself and then crumpled into the side panel. This is the 4th or 5th (so many I lost count!) time I've taken my car to RN Auto Body and I CANNOT believe what a phenomenal job they do on repairing these crazy dents. My car looks BRAND NEW, you'd never be able to tell anything touched it. I'm just always so blown away by their work. I only reserve that saying for strictly delicious food stuff, however, I feel that this place warrants such awesomeness. There's no good part about getting into a car fight with a wall that left my bumper striped with red and white like a candy cane (festive, but not very fitting -- it's only November!) And on top of that, having a damaged headlight, but this place and the people working there made me feel better about my situation. I felt that my car was in good hands. The owner was pretty on it throughout this entire ordeal. He was friendly, and on other accounts my dad went to this guy before for mechanical advice and he didn't charge my dad or anything but offered to help him with it. We went to other places to see if they could repair my car, but we ended up coming back to this guy. Within 3 days I was able to get my car all shiny and like new; well, look at that, my past dents and dings that were once there was gone. The paint, shiny like new. If my car or I decide to repaint my car with more candy cane stripes due to hitting inanimate objects again, I will be going to visit them again. read more

I was really upset and stressed out and I needed to get a same day repair. I went to 3 repair shops in the Kaimuki area and everywhere was closed. I had some major body panel damage on my car after an accident at work. Front bumper, headlight, hood, and fenders were all scratched. I'm a gear head and a stickler for details, so I looked for the guy with the best work I could find. After a recommendation from some friends, I gave Rob at RN a call. Rob is a seriously-local guy and does most of the work in his shop; put that in your mind when you deal with him and he's a great guy. He won't answer the phone with "RN Auto Body, how may I help you?" like a secretary would. He says hello, you say what you need, and then make an appointment. We met for estimates, and the next day he emailed me the formal estimate paperwork for insurance. We scheduled some time and I dropped off my scratched-up girl. Here's where the local thing comes into play: he won't really call with updates until the car is ready. Instead, I kept calling him for updates, and he let me know he was going a day over the estimate. No big deal; I was enjoying the rental car anyways. In the end my car looked immaculate. He covered up ALL of the rock chips covering the entire front bumper, the dinged hood was straight as an arrow, and the brand-new fender was perfectly paint-matched to OEM. He even gave me a deal on some rear-bumper work that I had him do on the side. The hood has a few new massive rock chips (thanks Honolulu City & County!) and a long scratch on the door (thanks VFX guy from work!) so I'm taking it back to Rob for touch-ups.
