Soo.... FINALLY I can post my review of ACR Solar (and Roofing). Understand I had to at least wait…read morefor a few good rains to say I LOVE my new roof and we are in fact "water proof"! I have never been so impressed with the customer service of any company as much as I am with ACR. They did the solar for a new pool last year 2021 and it worked perfectly allowing us the most comfortable swimming experience in our new pool. That was last year... Next up our 25 year-old roof was looking tired. Because of my solar experience with ACR's amazing staff (both in the field and in the office), I decided to get a bid (1 of 4) from them on a new roof this year (2022). Oh my gosh Joe Petersen runs a smooth, courteous, professional company with an awesome team of workers. Not one person was rude, lazy or "questionable". I am one who asks MANY questions because I just like to know and understand "stuff". Joe was so very patient with me. (Thank you Joe, lol). I always try to HIRE LOCAL whenever possible but get at least 3 bids regardless. This LOCAL company came in competitive, were pretty quick to get me on the schedule, and once the job began did not waste a bit of my time or theirs. Thank you so much for your excellent service on both of my jobs. I was able to stay calm and confident that we were in good hands. ~ Janelle

I've had numerous questions after the installation and Jose remains responsive and wants to make sure my system functions at peak performance. Outstanding Service & Professionalism - Highly Recommend Sunwave Energy!…read more Working with Jose and the team at Sunwave Energy has been an incredible experience from start to finish. From our very first meeting, Jose was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping us find the right solar solution for our home. He took the time to walk us through every step of the process and made sure we understood all of our options. The installation of our brand new solar system and backup batteries went smoothly and was completed on time. The crew was respectful, efficient, and clearly experienced--they treated our home with care and kept the worksite clean throughout the project. What really stood out was the level of communication. Jose kept us updated every step of the way and was always available to answer any questions, even after the system was up and running. We feel confident knowing we have a reliable and responsive team behind our energy system. Now that everything is up and running, our energy bills have dropped significantly, and we have the peace of mind that comes with backup power during outages. It's a great feeling to be more energy independent and to know we worked with a company that truly cares about their customers. If you're considering solar, do yourself a favor and call Jose at Sunwave Energy. You won't regret it!

I was contacted by Spartan staff Diego Nuñez after responding to a link survey about adding solar…read more Spartan was the first company to contact me and made an appointment to speak to me via phone since I said I did not need an in person consultation. I was interested in adding panels to my existing older solar roof panels. My panels are working well, but I could use more power. Was also interested on behalf of my daughter who wanted extra panels after adding an EV and hot tub. After a couple of tel/cons with Diego, we determined in both our cases, it would not be worth adding additional panels because our True-ups were not high enough annually to warrant a system purchase. We had an extensive discussion about the fact that there are no more perks or discounts to install solar and things have just gotten more expensive over the last year, with loss of rebates, etc. Diego was very honest that in both of our cases, the cost of upgrading our mutual systems was not worth the money it would cost. I truly appreciated his honesty as he talked himself out of not one job but two. Highly recommend this company for both staff customer service in getting to me quickly, speaking to me extensively twice and Diego's honesty in being upfront about in our case, the bang just not being worth the buck. I actually felt like I could trust the staff and these days, this is important. Thank you, Spartan.

On top of that, they're just good down-to-earth people. We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. All in all, if you need a new roof or solar system or home battery, or all of the above, call Volt. They are a competent and professional group of local people who are really f**king good at what they do.

When Buck arrived, he stayed until we were satisfied with our understanding, and I learned so much more from his explanations than from all other companies. Considering they were also roofers and understood the difficulty with our high-pitched roof, we placed more confidence in them than the others. Hence, we chose them after a month of research and estimates. Kristen, their assistant manager, was very communicative throughout the entire project, keeping us informed about what was happening behind the scenes with permits, PG&E approvals, and the team's schedule. That helped us understand the project's time frames. Bucks crew -- Jared, Sean, and the others -- were friendly and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently to finish the job, paying close attention to detail. They went above and beyond, including sharing additional insights about our gutters and attic. I could tell they understood the bigger picture, and I am grateful for their effort. After researching many companies, we are happy we chose Volt Modern and will definitely recommend them to others looking for solar installation and roofing services.

There were all kinds of…read moresalespeople who came to our home on a monthly basis, and we just never had a real peace about being able to trust what we were being " sold", or told. My parents purchased solar from a HORRIBLE company that sounds a lot like 'SunFun'. After they passed away, and the house was sold...we were STILL making the monthly payments for over a year!!! That SunFun organization REFUSED to transfer the solar to the new homeowner, and eventually stopped taking or acknowledging our calls. It wasn't until we had to threaten the new homeowner with a lawsuit that SunFun finally transferred ownership. Due to this, we could not trust any of these solar companies...that is, until Kevin Bedard came to our home, and explained everything in great detail to my husband and I. He took the time to hear about our concerns, and he showed us how he truly cared. That same week, we spoke to two other families who shared their positive experiences about Ambrose Solar that made us feel that we would be in great hands. We had FINALLY FOUND A PEACE about getting solar on our home; KNOWING we would be in good hands, and we were ALL IN. It's been six months now, and we are beyond pleased with our solar panels, and the two Tesla batteries we have purchased. We are true fans, who have NOTHING but RAVE REVIEWS for this company. If you don't have solar, or if you need to add solar, Kevin Bedard is your man! and Ambrose is your company. Every employee has been amazing and helpful. In a world where customer service has taken a dump, this company has remained a class act. So again...if you are considering solar, call Ambrose, and tell them Albert and Rhonda sent you.

My project is now finished and it's been about 6 months turned on and functioning- I'm still so…read moreglad that I did this with Ambrose Solar. Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!

I hired…read moreEnergy Saving Pros (ESP) over a couple other bidders because their salesperson was knowledgeable, friendly, and transparent. He spent an hour on site with me explaining placement, permitting, and expected timelines (45-60 days.) Based on that professionalism, I paid two-thirds of the $31K project cost upfront. Unfortunately, everything collapsed once the contract was signed. Permitting delays: ESP blamed them on the City for months. After three months of this, I contacted the City myself, and the plan reviewer told me ESP had submitted invalid designs multiple times, including use of non-approved equipment. Even after being notified they were proposing unapproved equipment, ESP resubmitted their plans without fixing the issue. Utility coordination: the City told me they needed interconnection approval from the local utility; when I contacted the utility, they confirmed ESP had never contacted them for interconnection approval. (This is three months after I'd signed paperwork and sent funds.) Poor communication: I made repeated friendly requests to ESP for updates, which were responded to with "we're trying, it's the City's delay." After contacting the City myself and finding out that the submitted plans were repeatedly wrong - and the utility hadn't even been reached out to yet - I wrote a more formal (exasperated but still friendly) email detailing what I'd found; this email went unanswered for days. After turning up my volume and explaining I was upset in a followup email, the company owner wrote me a brief reply that contained no apology - and addressed me as "Mark." (Narrator voice: "My name is not Mark.") OK, plans are now approved, after my intervention. It'll be smooth from here on out, right? (Narrator voice: "Nope.") Installation delays: I was originally told installation was a one- to two-day job. It stretched to four days because on day one, I found out from the installer that ESP had only sent him, rather than the regular two-person team. That worker was professional and hard-working, but he had no support, and the timeframe doubled. I was not told about this in advance, and had to stay home from the office for a couple extra days to manage home access for the installer. Again - no acknowledgement or apology from the company owner. Broken promises: after I started complaining to the owner and the salesperson, the salesperson promised me a meaningful discount for the extensive delays and for me doing their permitting work with the City. But wait - the salesperson quit or was dismissed from the company a couple days before the installation. When I was called for payment for the full amount, I called the owner and reminded him of what his salesperson had told me. He offered to "take a couple hundred bucks" off the $31K job - that's less than one percent. (I'm a company owner, and when my company messes up, we proactively offer meaningful discounts, because that's the right thing to do.) Offended. I declined his "discount," and immediately paid him in full - and also immediately started thinking about how to write this review. OK, we're paid. We just need an inspection. That'll go smoothly, right? (Narrator voice: "Me again? Oh no...") Inspection scheduling: ESP failed to schedule the final City inspection with me. I found out about it only when the installer texted me from my driveway, saying "I'm here and the inspector will be here soon." I suppose I was fortunate to have been home at the time. And, of course, the inspector found that ESP had not followed their own plans, and failed my house. Three weeks later, when ESP finally fixed their errors and I passed the inspection, I was again not given notice of when they'd be arriving, causing me to cancel appointments to be at home for the inspection. (And the tech that arrived smelled strongly of cigarettes and alcohol when he appeared at 8:30am - not who you want representing you to the public. I don't think he was actively intoxicated, but I don't think he'd tried to repair his previous night's choices before arriving at my doorstep, unannounced.) So, to sum up: contract signed and $$$ sent in June. Their installation finally approved by the inspector in ... NOVEMBER. Months of delays caused by ineptitude. No acknowledgement of dropped balls by company owner. Let me be clear: the FranklinWH batteries I was sold are superb - reliable hardware, easy-to-use app, and great performance. But Energy Saving Pros' management was appalling, disorganized, dismissive, and unprofessional. The company owner is running a terrible ship; their post-sales lack of communication, repeated plan errors, and refusal to be accountable made this the single most frustrating and aggravating vendor experience of my lifetime. Considering Energy Saving Pros? Don't.
